Arpa
Gods and other clowns. It is still fresh in our memories when in 1991 Bush the Father said something like “With God on our side… we shall win”, while his nemesis Saddam was invoking Allah to do the same. Rom.8 31-What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Conduct of war as prescribed by Jehovah. 1Sam.15 [3] Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. Deut.2-33] And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people. [34] And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain: [35] Only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took Deut.20-[16] But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth: Note: Is not the naval rescue/evacuation of the Lebanese reminiscent of the Forty Day of Musa Ler? Anonymouse
Israel is nothing but a menace. It's blood lust and myopic view of only force to subdue and submit the A-rabs is not and has not worked. It only fuels the growing hatred and discontent of the region and will not end until Israel is wiped off. Instead of being the bigger man and initiating some sort of peace, Israel has chosen to be the warmonger yet again. America will also, sadly, receive its dues, for such blind allegiance to the Israeli "ally". Some ally. I guess these days 'ally' has such a loose definition since it can include allies who continuously spy on you, sell sensitive information and weapons technology to China, and attack you (USS Liberty), no wonder Israel is America's ally. With allies like this, who needs enemies?

Z'areh
What murderous pieces of shit!! Israeli leadership should be called to face war crimes. I cannot help but think also that different segments in Lebanon have always acted in ways that one would be hard pressed to see what actions are for Lebanon’s interests what actions serve non-Lebanese interests. Let me just limit my opinion by saying that it is very interesting that on the eve of the G8 meeting in Moscow the Iranian nuclear issue took a secondary, even tertiary, level in these meetings. The Iranian issue, which the Bush administration was hoping to give a decisive blow, took a form of meaningless warnings, just like the meaningless declarations at the end of the summit for a peaceful resolution for the Karabakh conflict. Having said that, there is no justification of what Israel is doing. Death and destruction that is resulting from this assaults should qualify Israel as a rogue nation. Their violent “reactions” are based on revenge and racism, pure and simple. The sad truth is that the West is powerless to stop Israel, therefore they (not just the US) hide behind the notion of “fighting terrorism”. It is ironic that Israel accusing groups that seemingly want the destruction of Israel is destroying Lebanon, or a good part of it. It is terrible to say this but the only language Israel understands at this point is a massive and relentless bombardment of Israeli cities, causing tremendous material, (hopefully not human) damage. That seems the only way Israel would stop destroying Lebanon. Any other BS uttered from the West is as valuable as a used toilet paper. I never liked Ehud Olmert as the mayor of Jerusalem, but now as the new Prime Minister he proved that he is a cold blooded murderer. I am extremely sad, depressed and angry!! my heart bleeds for Lebanon.
Takoush
And there are still quite a lot of Armenians living in Lebanon, it's depressing. Of course the West and the US will be on Israel's side as the Jews did their homework very well by having quite many top men pretty much in both Europe and in the US to control it for their benefit. What else is new. Then they'll do any bloody killings their hearts will so desire and then as you said it will mask it as if contra terrorism. My heart also bleeds for Lebanon and for the Armenians living in there. Edited July 19, 2006 by Anahid Takouhi
Eurocentric
I just spoke to an ex of mine who has relatives in Beirut, she mentioned that even though the Armenian sections are not hit they are still suffering from the bombs as the noise is earth shaking. In addition, none of them have electricity. I mean Lebanon is three times smaller than Armenia!!!!!!!!!!!!
hytga
israel has clearly stepped way over the lines. They claim surgical attacks. I suppose a surgery with an axe or a chainsaw is also surgery. How can you bomb an apartment building next to a hospital and claim a surgical attack? Or even worse. Why would you create every condition to make ordinary citizens suffer? And not just suferr. They're cutting out food supplys, targeting bridges, attacking sewage canals. how can you claim you're not targeting lebanese military(by which you actualy aknowledge that you're not fighting lebanon but hezbola), but bomb their bases and civilian infrastructure like bridges, roads? Then target cars just because you believe it may carry weapons supplys. Without any information. I just don't see how hypocritical one can get. Why're we surprised about world silence in regards to destruction of juga cemetary. I suppose if you're surrounded by enemies you're bound to have nervous breakdowns like this. But then again. The lunatics that have itching hands should be taken to international court. They're creating more enemieas end more hatred twards themselves. hyethga
I wonder where all these idiot "Middle East" experts come from and showered with such respect by the news networks. Nearly 3/4 of them are former US military officers. What do military officers understand about the guerilla insurgency that is Hezbollah? What does a Texan educated at West Point before serving for another 30 years in the Balkans have any idea on what goes on there? A General or Lt. Colonel or commander doesn't know anything but that: commanding troops in a conventional battlefield with tanks, artillery, and fighter bombers. These dinosaurs come on television and talk in such simplistic manners such as "destroy Hezbollah positions" or "cease the insurgency" as if their fighting against Nazi Germany or Imperialist Japan, some sort of tangible enemy. The Israelis are equally stupid in thinking they can somehow break down one of the world's most strongest guerilla organizations. And the United States unconditionally supports Israel's actions. Sassun
2 trucks bombed in Christian Achrafieh... The Lebanese are now rolling on the floor laughing. Really we are. I mean we are used to being bombed, so the sounds of the bombs are not that bad.... but to see the Israelis lose it and bomb anything that moves is hilarious. hahaha... the bombed trucks were claimed to be carrying rockets... they were DRILLERS near a construction site.................................................... And just as I write this, they bombed those drillers AGAIN. LOL The trucks targeted yesterday were carrying: 1) flour 2) medicines 3) cement 4) were empty Eurocentric, no areas are being spared. So the Armenian areas might just as well be targeted. Soon they will be. Achrafieh is a Lebanese Forces stronghold, the LF was Israel's major ally during the civil war.... irlandahay
i just found out we have some friends in lebanon... anyways, just to clarify this all, those who ask me why do i support israel... personally i believe every nation deserves his countrey, israel has the right to be. israel fights militias in gaza, theyr return with suicide bombings of public areas and school buses! but i disagreee with israel going into lebanon... theres only one way to get rid of a guerilla army and that is by using special forces! my father and i argue bout this alot! he says it would be a bloodbath but still...its theyr war, not the civilians! it would avoid alot of civilian casualties. why not carpet bomb lebanon while were at it? i have no idea why no one is interfering but this has got to stop! anyways as i was saying we have friends in lebanon and they were telling us how bad it is but they also said (in a lower voice of course) that they were sorta glad...i dont remember who it was who said it but hezbullah is not a democratically elected party and they do not speak for lebanon and they are certanly not afir or democratic or freedom fighters...thye work for theyr own benefit! aparently whenever they want something they threaten, they make a scene, they scream and they yell in the parlament building...the government had twenty years to disarm them? no!...why is lebanon not doing anything? because the lebanese army exists only on paper! they dont have the power to fight a guerrilla army within theyr own countreys...so why isnt lebanon doing anything? because theyr glad theyl finally get those pigs out of theyr countrey! so they can finally have a real democracy! but as i said...israel, thats not the way to do it! DominO123
WHAT THE HELL!!! Go figure, Bush will be asking the Congress to request the sending of American soldier in Lebanon to 'protect' Americans and their interest there. Protect them from what? Does anyone have more info about this? I think this has gone too far, an Ultimatum should be given to Israel to stop it with threats of military attacks. From the lastest news, the Christian section has been hit too.
