vava
I am SO unbelievably saddened by all this terrible news. Lebanon is such a beautiful country with so much potential - and we're on the sidelines watching it being bombed to rubble. This is a HUGE step backwards for the entire region. I just keep asking myself "Why isn't anyone doing anything???" The Lebanese have not done anything to warrant such action - albeit, I don't think Hezbollah is by any means fault-free either. It's a pure disaster from any angle. A pox on both their houses indeed! Edited July 16, 2006 by vava

The thing is that we can not instore democracy by force, which is contrary to democratic principles. The people should accept democracy and fight for it. Some societies are not advenced enought to permit democracy, and Azerbaijan and its dictator Aliev are examples.

DominO123
Hmmm... I have a solution, the World Bank transfer the loans allocated to Lebanon for the reconstruction of the destruction on the back of Israel, as if they were requested by Israel with an interest rate X2. After a couple of days...

Sassun
Guys I am not sure if I can post links - sorry if I can't, please feel free to remove it if that's the case - but please pass on this link to everyone you know : http://www.stop-israeli-aggression.org/ It's live updates from the ground here in Lebanon. It's an alternative source of news to CNN and other western media which constantly show Israeli "suffering" and never charred bodies of Lebanese babies, the complete destruction of Lebanon. Sassun
Man Harut, please have limits on what you say. You can't imagine what the situation will be like here. It already is bad. It's getting worse. My dad just got back, he went to get some food stuff, he couldn't even get into the supermarket.

Well, you also need to add who played a role in the creation of the Israeli State from nothing. Britain first and later the US. Also, who continuously supports the Israelis in the region - the US. Politics is not about sentiments, all that has a reason, and they cannot do whatever they want if the their supporters are against. Israel was created about 50 years ago, since then it was constantly in wars, and the life there was/is not lovely despite the big donor's help. And imagine for a moment what will happen to them if for some reason the US stops the financial/military assistance.

Al Manar TV back on air minutes after the strike. Terror? Terrorists? Who? One can only imagine the horror in Lebanon, yet every news outlet here chooses to show the “terror and suffering” in Israel, the rocket in Haifa. It is criminally immoral!!! Can Armenians learn something here? Maybe, only if they learn to read correctly and understand the "message". Rather than.... ....Everyone knows the old adage; “More Catholic than the Pope”, but has anyone heard ; “More Jewish than the Rabbi”? “they're so technologically advanced and…” Do they participate in that “creationism” nonsense debate. Do they debate stem cell research as a theological, moral subject? Do they burn their scientists at the stake for suggesting that the Earth is not flat and that it revolves around the sun? Do they “turn the other cheek”, do they “make peace not war”, do they “beat their swords into ploughshares“?? All of the above are quotes, paraphrases from that book of garbage that Christianity is supposed to have been based on. Do they really believe in them or is it us idiots that must die for those principles? Yes, they deserve credit for having broken every commandment that they claim to have written. More Catholic than the Pope? Or is it more moronic than Moshe??
Arpa
We have been hearing that some countries, including the US are contemplating to evacuate their citizens in Lebanon via Cyprus. The incomplete and highly biased news don’t specify which “Cyprus”, Cypriot or Turkish? I have been wondering what the Turks, that other BULLY had to say about the saga, what would their position be vis a vis their “staunch ally” in the ME, with which they have military and defense treaties? What will happen to those treaties and alliances? I may have asked a similar question above. As much as hate to do this, I seldom, never open Turkish news sources, (Phantom is our faithful monitor, he reads them as if the Gospel). Here is an item from that cursed source. Turkish PM slams Israel, urges G8 group to act Published: 7/15/2006 ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on Group of Eight leaders Saturday to push for a ceasefire in the escalating crisis in the Middle East as he harshly criticized Israeli military offensives, Anatolia news agency reported. "I appeal to the G8 countries to take a joint decision... (for) the UN Security Council to ask for a ceasefire... They have to work this out," Erdogan said in the northeastern city of Artvin. The leaders of the world's most powerful eight nations -- Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States -- gathered in Saint Petersburg Saturday for a summit expected to tackle the raging turmoil in the Middle East. On Friday, a UN Security Council debate ended with no action on Lebanon's demand for an end to Israeli air strikes, as the United States blamed the crisis squarely on Iran and Syria. Israel has been bombing Lebanon in retaliation to the capture of two of its soldiers by the Shiite group Hezbollah Wednesday, while also pounding the Gaza Strip since an Israeli soldier was snatched there by Palestinian militants on June 25. "If the abduction incident in Palestine is negative, responding to it with disproportionate force is worse," Erdogan said. "Nothing can justify the showering of bombs on innocent civilians and the merciless destruction of cities." "The children of Palestine are as precious as those of Israel," he said, according to Anatolia. Turkey, one of Israel's few Muslim allies in the region, sought to mediate in the early stages of the crisis when it sent a special envoy to Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad in a bid to convince Damascus to use its influence over Hamas to secure the release of the Israeli soldier. 07/15/2006 Erdogan said. "Nothing can justify the showering of bombs on innocent civilians and the merciless destruction of cities." Is he for real? Innocent Armenians? Innocent Kurds and others??? Verginne
It'sdisgusting that one would praise israelis for being leeches on the ameriKKKan taxpayer. If it weren't for the stupid amerikKKan taxpayer, there wouldn't be any arrogant, genocidal israel. Just remember, these bastards help the turks and the azeris all the time they think they are entitled to do anything they want to anyone and it was a huge mistake to give them any weapons whatsoever, much less allow them to possess weapons of mass destruction. They may end up starting WWIII yet. When you see a mushroom cloud in your city, you might not be so inclined to admire these murderous jews.
