Dear Ara, I would like to know your opinion about the assassination of JFK, more specifically, how do you think in an open and democratic society like the one in America, the public just lets it go? As I wrote in the topic I opened, recent statistics shows that 70 % of the Americans believe in conspiracy behind JFK's murder, however in more than 40 years the true reasons are not yet revealed. Taking into account the large number of people involved in Kennedy's case, who were killed and died in unusual conditions and circumstances, one finds it hard to believe that Oswald was simply acting on his own. Thanks, Vahan

Does this imply his assassination was organized by the mafia you are reffering to? There was more to the game by the time I guess such as the cold war, the Cuban crisis, etc. 70% of the respondents in the USA as recent statistics shows believe in conspiracy behind Kennedy's assassination. I wonder how in this democratic society the public just lets it go.

What was that mafia that brought people to presidentship? Do you have a specific idea or you are speculating?

Dear Forum members, The assassination of JFK is one of the black and uncovered pages of the American history. As you know, there are various versions as who might have organized the crime (what is called the conspiracy versions). There is also an opinion of Oswald acting alone. I am for one not an expert in this subject but at different points red material about the Kennedy case and a long list of people involved in it that have perished - either murdered ot died in "unknown" circumstances. I did not form my solid opinion yet regarding this issue and would like to have your input. What do you think might have happened?

Don't you agree with these sayings? I doubt Raffi hated Armenians, he wrote in Armenian, and for Armenians, and died an Armenian (because of hunger btw). Vahan

Well, you also need to add who played a role in the creation of the Israeli State from nothing. Britain first and later the US. Also, who continuously supports the Israelis in the region - the US. Politics is not about sentiments, all that has a reason, and they cannot do whatever they want if the their supporters are against. Israel was created about 50 years ago, since then it was constantly in wars, and the life there was/is not lovely despite the big donor's help. And imagine for a moment what will happen to them if for some reason the US stops the financial/military assistance.

Why not to pick Armenia as an example?

How about ROA giving citizenship to all the diasporan Armenians and the US giving citizenship to all current ROA citizens? I would be a happy person:)

My cousin was on this plane.. Can't get used to the thought that he is not alive. -
This is somewhat foggy. I wish he asked me this question a couple of weeks ago when I was in Armenia, I could perhaps use the libraries you mentioned.

Hi All, Below is a question a friend of mine from Istanbul sent me asking about the 1923 Budapest meeting. If someone knows a source please let me know. "I have been looking for a reference but wasn't able to find out. This is a report that was given to the Tashnak committee by the first prime minister of Ermenia, Katchaznouni. The meeting was held in 1923 in Budapest. The Turkish sources claim that he defends the Turks in 1915 events. I want to make sure that the Turkish sources are not manipulating what he said. " Thanks, Vahan

This is sort of sad, isn't it? I find this strange that in the democratic society armenians give nothing compared to what they gave in the Ottoman Empire: Paronyan, Otyan, etc. What do you think is the reason for this?

Ara, I saw your post on bnagir.am , sent a note, but now I do not see your post anymore. Do they delete posts over there or I am missing something? vahan

Ara, Can you understand Vahe's writings very well? Do you know the Armenian/Russian slang used sometimes?
-
By the way, there was a joke when I was in Moscow: "Putin asks Robert Kocharyan how many Armenians are there in the homeland? Rob answers that about 1.5 million. To this Putin replies, well, we have 2 million, so who is the president of Armenia then ????"
-
The number of Armenians in Russia is I think the largest, clearly more than a million. Russia had a huge number of Armenians before the Soviet broke and afterwards perhaps the half of Armenia moved there. I am not sure you can find a relatively exact statistics, I don't think anybody does that but you can check the official Russian sources. One thought is common among people that the number of Armenians in Russia is larger than that in Armenia. I think it is not exaggerated. Vahan

Ara, How is it going with the book-selling business? Just curious, because you as well as many other writers post a lot online, which is free for the readers. Doesn't it affect the book-sells? The question is would I find more if I bought the paper versions or no? Thanks
-
Thanks, nice to see you too. I do nor temember you though, what was your previous nickname? (or name) I agree with the point, I was just trying to point out that the genocide was in no way a victory but just a back-up plan. Vahan

Thanks vava for welcoming me back Yeah, it has been a long time...
-
Thanks for the reply. Perhaps you are right, I have to agree. However, it is a victory of people who brought the multinational Empire to the end creating a single-national republic instead. If we ignore the collapse of the Ottomans and all the lost wars and territories, then yes it was their victory. Perhaps it was the victory of the Young Turks alone but not Turks who had a huge territory under their control. Vahan
