* We see the Genocide as a tragedy; but it is also a defeat and a victory – a Turkish victory not only over Greeks, Kurds, and Armenians, but also Russia, the Great Powers of the West, and their Allies. * I don't think it was the Turkish victory. It more looks like it was a back-up plan in case of the lost war. I do not really understand why they picked a genocide of the christian minorities but it can hardly be called a victory over the WEST. Even well before Tallar/Enver and Co. in 19th century the Russian Tsar was warned by the Western Embassies in Istanbul that in case Russians take Polis by force the Turks will commit a genocide of all the Christian minorities, most of whom were "under Russian protectorate". At that time the Sultan was if not an Anglo-Russian puppet but strongly dependent on their "mood". Turks were very well aware that their Empire is on the abyss, and dependent on the British and Russian. What did not happen in the 19th century because of more careful political players, did take place in the 20th - the Empire collapsed and the Christian minorities were massacred. This does not look like a victory of Turks over anybody, and I would like to know your opinion.

MJ, Inch es aragarkum? Is there any other way than playing the diplomatic game with Russia, US, EU, etc? Don't you think that the so-called betrayal was also caused by our behavior on the political stage? And how about our irrelevance? In any case, what are the perspectives you think of? (I do not think you would start posting all these unless you have some ideas) V

Chechens Ready To Assist Azeris In Karabakh Front
sen_Vahan replied to Teutonic Knight's topic in Artsakh
Khazar, Yes, russians left the weaponry for chechens to fight against russians and kill their civilians, they created the political/power vacuum (interestingly, that republic was always in power vacuum), they destroyed the city of Grozny in order to spend money later to rebuild it, they killed their own people in Moscow bombing or exploding the buildings (according to this logics CIA bombed the buildings in NYC), again entered Chechnya to further punish chechens and show the rest of muslim subjects that no independence can be achieved in Russia, are still using terrorist methods to kill their own people across the country, and since they are so smart they will continue doing the same. This paragraph is explains what you are saying. Now read it carefully and try to understand that russians need to be idiots, bastards to do all these. If you believe in that then I can't help asking you do more research As you noticed probably, we were talking about chechens in Russia, nothing was mentioned about those in Germany or somewhere else. Yes, I mean the diaspora in Russia. Well, first about chechens that cannot find jobs. I am not sure whether or not you know but chechens have a lot of professors in Moscow's most prestigious universities. Are you going to argue about this ? Second, if you were attending the expensive night clubs, all kind of restaurants, etc in Moscow or Petersburg you would notice one thing - chechens are among most fashionable young people there. I don't have to tell you how much one needs to earn in Moscow to afford all these. Moreover, a lot of chechens study in most expensive schools and universities in Moscow or Petersburg. Now, how can you afford this if you do not have a job or a source of income? I do not have any reason to be jealous, please, do not get me wrong, but I am writing about my observations becuase I lived for more than 6 years in Moscow and had the chance to observe. -
Chechens Ready To Assist Azeris In Karabakh Front
sen_Vahan replied to Teutonic Knight's topic in Artsakh
Khazar, Taking into account all the complexity of the Chechen problem one should not make so definite conclusions like you do. However, there is one aspect that is clear - Chechens were given the opportunity to develop themselves after the first chechen war when Russians took the army out of the republic. As a result, Chechen forces started to invade Dagestan looking for a way to the Caspian. This is how the second war started and at that moment even those Russian politicians always against the war in Chechnya agreed on starting the war again. I think you need to read and research more before you post some nonsense. You can obserbe some similarities - wherever in the US the African Americans hold the power (be that the major of the city or even higher) or whereever they live in majority the area is total disaster, everything out of control, dirty, corrupted. The same about Chechens, they were not and they are still not able to be organised. Organisation is necessary for building a country, state. During the Soviet period Chechnya was the most corrupted, dangerous, mafios-like, disastrious place in the big country. On the other hand, Chechen diaspora was and still is one of the reachest along with the jewish one. How come they are not able to use their wealth for their nation's good? -
Khazar, That Khazarian kings were jews is also documented by Gumilev which implies not all the sources are of jewish origin. Moreover, you can find a lot about their kingdom and its collapse reading about the formation of Rus' (the times of "velikie knyaz'ya").

"Any leader, who does not respect the choice of the people, doesn’t have a moral right to be a leader. Good or bad are very subjective terms, all that matters at the end of the day is whether the leader respects people’s choice; otherwise he is nothing else but a dictator. Kocharyan might have performed economic miracles, might have turned Armenia into next Singapore, but if people does not want him he should be courageous enough to step down and respect democratic principles" Vay, vay, vay, I think you need to define then what the democratic principles are. If the nation did not produce THE leader it means it is nor ready yet for that. If the alternative to Kocharian was Demirchian that our nation produced then it is better to have a "dictator" like Kocharian. If the armenian people do really understand the values of democracy thn they should probably understand what it means to have Demirchian as a president.

"Get LOST Parikian. Armenians like you we don't need in America. Go back where you came from. Our wave of Armenians produced Deukmejians, Michaelians, Petersons (Bedrosians). The only decent recent Armenians are the Barska-Hyes. I married a Beirutzi. I KNOW them well. And what about the Russa-Hyes? What have your type of Armenian produced other than the Armenian Mafia????? " I can tell you what, dear Mr. Arrogance, what you call Russo-Hays created and lived in the country called Armenia today, opened the National Academy of Sciences, and had world-class scientists and artists. Look around here, who are the most of the graduate students(of armenian origin) in America's best schools? Who is seriosuly involved in the American scientific and hightech life? You want to tell me those like you?? What the hell you know about armenians that you call Russo-Hays except those boasting on LA's streets?

nasty, Was there a war between the Ottoman Empire and Armenia by the time of the genocide? Wasn't there a war between Armenia and Azerbaijan? Is there any difference between the planned extermination of the nation(own citizens) and the war between two states? Is there a difference between the smart person and the dumb?
-
nasty, Take all the numbers of the victims and find the average and for your sake devide the result by 5. It still does not deny the fact of the genocide. Your lack of knowledge makes people in this Forum think you are one of those many that are brainwashed by the propaganda. If you go through the materials regarding that issue which is available in this forum, you will find a lot to learn. By the way, you will find among other things the failure of our turkish friends attacking the members in the same way you started - our Oxford fellow Ali Suat is one example.
-
bellthecat, Whether it is something doable is a good question for Azeris.
-
Arpa, That's because I was more serious about the issue I realize that it may take Turkey several days to push the whole population of Armenia out of the country. A peaceful solution to this problem is in my opinion necessary for Armenia. However, in the case of bellthecat's scenario there will be no choice other than to occupy more in order not to be occupied.
-
'Likely outcome: the Azeri army, equiped with the latest America weapons, paid for by American petrol dollars, supported by American made planes, will attack Karabagh from the east in overwhelming numbers, and squeeze it like a tube of toothpaste so that everyone will flee westward, exiting along that nice new Lachin road.' Likely scenario in this case: no other choice for armenians except to occupy Nachichevan. Further, lost Artsax and lost Nachichevan by Azeris.

As usual I am a little late:) I started to read the posts but have to apologize that did not do completely because as it happens in our forum we act "Vokrug da okolo". Anyway, regarding the history of Dashnaks... I don't know whether somebody has already mentioned but a good source might be Garegin Njdeh's book about Dashnak Party. His opinion was that from idiological and inspired party initially, Dashnakzutyun turned to a trivial mafia group. I can try to find his writing online but you can also do that, it should be available now. Vahan

Arpa, Did Kurds make some kind of competition among the folks "Who can draw a better/bigger map" for Kurdistan?

If I did my conversion correctly, I'm about 75 meters tall (actually, 1.82 I believe so you were very close) ... so hopefully after all this, I won't be considered the local glutton anymore! I actually do have a huge frame that needs massive amounts of food to survive. Lol! Sounds like my bro: hay mard arants por, hay chi He's just a bit taller (1.88), and weighs about the same, if not more... What do you mean?????? Hima inch, gnam arhestakan por dnem
