shiner
Wanted to see Aviator but did not get to it. Then I was watching this movie made in 1935 about some Brits trying to save one of their own from some Indians (in India). It was bad. Coincidentally I came across "The Human Comedy" a couple of nights ago while fliping channels. I only saw the last half but it was great cause the simplicity of the characters had an effect on me. Accelerated
Alexander Pros: best battle scenes of any movie! Angelina Jolie in her perfect role. Cons: too long. too much garbage talk. Collin Farrel, his boyfriends, his small willie (yes, you get to see it - LOL) and just about everything else about the movie. 5/10 Verdict: just for the battle and Jolies casting. Stormig
I liked "Shall We Dance?" with Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez. Made me wanna try dancing again - and not start with the tango but more fun stuff. I went to watch it with a male friend - and we came out of the movie theatre dancing. I didn't like the crying demure on Jennifer Lopez's face - she had it on for most of the movie and it was cheesy. The part where she described the rumba to Gere was hot, tho. Did I mention he looks great in a suit?
Nakharar
You should have watched the original Japanese version which I found more poignant. I must have seen it 6 or 7 years ago. It didn't have the silly romantic comedy theme like this one. Poor Richard Gere he must be getting really desperate to act in such movies. Stormig
Don't they pretty much all get desperate the older they get? Case in point - Sean Connery.

I grew there and got married at that Church. I can tell just by the painting behind the alter and the paintings on the sides.

Foreign films have such a different artistic style. It's just so nice to see something different once in awhile.
Anileve
I liked "Shall We Dance?" with Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez. Did I mention he looks great in a suit? style_images/master/snapback.png Stormy, I am shocked. The movie was the most painful experience I think I've ever had. It was worse than picking up my father's toxic socks and placing them in the laundry hamper. At least that lasted for about a minute or so, this movie was like 2 hours of Jennifer's ass and sour facial expressions. Think butt and a sour face, if your idea of a fun movie is that sort of a combination than this movie is a perfect appeasement. I am certain that the monstrosity was produced to showcase JLo's assets. The only scene worth watching was the tango between the two protagonists. And Gere was not the actual dancer, he had a "dance double," if you noticed most of the scene was in the dark. Plus it was one of my favorite pieces by Gotan Project. Closer - excellent movie. I loved the acting. Owen and Portman were dynamic. Roberts was also very impressive, a very refreshing deviation from her romantic comedy roles. It was a very impressive portrayal of normal relationships with abnormal circumstances. I am sure everyone has known or lived through something similar. Sideways- very funny. The whole theatre was roaring. A good comedy, but not worthy of an Oscar. Then again, who gives a crap about the stupid award ceremony? It's all political anyway. I am very angry to find out that "La Mala Educacion," El crimen de padre Amaro" and "The motor diaries" were not nominated for the best foreign film, or Gabriel was not nominated as the best foreign actor. (Do they have that category?) Vera Drake - awful movie! Just atrocious. The whole thing was one big sappy, sloppy tear jerker, and seemed absolutely endless. Ocean's 12 - Loved it! What is not to love? The cast is superb and the theme is thrilling, the dialogs were witty. Love movies of that genre. "Thomas Crown Affair" comes to mind, love that one too. Accelerated
There is a movie coming out in May with a story set during the Crusades period, directed by the same guy as Gladiator. I saw a preview of it a couple days ago - it looked awesome! But there is allready a big negative - Orlando Bloom Kingdom of Heaven they better not mess it up like Alexander. Accelerated
yeah, he was more suited for that role, but hes too much of a pansie (image) to be the main hero in this film, I do like the rest of the cast though.

Love movies of that genre. "Thomas Crown Affair" comes to mind, love that one too. style_images/master/snapback.png You can't be serious? Please, please don't. I haven't been to such a lame and boring movie for ages since the Lord trilogy or Vanilla Sky. I won't even mention the cheap and disconnected dialogues. The whole thing was like a photo shoot. Let's face it there are movies which are produced for the sake of money only. These actors were brought together to draw attention away from the holes in the script and focus on the cast instead. The players did nothing except engage in meaningless chat with each other. I had a hard time keeping my eyelids open. During the ten-minute break, I left the theater to wash my face, hoping I'd find an engrossing development in the second half of the story. But it was even worse… It was just an excuse for spoiled actors to have good time in Italy and thicken their wallets.
