20 dollar baby was crap; a movie I will watch but one I can never recommend for a nomination. Whole bunch of melodrama and that redundant theme that "you can do it if you want it badly enough." There are a lot better movies out there which demonstrate the same point in a more elegant or funny way. I was very disappointed to see it take so many oscars. Rwanda got nothing! "The sea inside" was another dramatic film, dealing with the same issue of assisted suicide, I guess 'twas the year of euthanasia on the political table of the partial critics who ate it up with a spoon. Real talent simply takes a comfortable place next to all those others that will remain understated, including Maria Full of Grace, whose star should have been the one taking home the Golden Naked Man. The award went to a woman who received one before and toned her body as a bonus.

I thought so too but most everybody around me liked it. I thought the movie was boring, especially the first part, before her injury. Maybe it was boring to me because there was nothing in the movie that I could relate too. Why was this movie so hyped?

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

By far the best one of the newly made episodes. Largely the result of more action and less dialogue :). Its so good that Im contemplaiting renting and watching the older episodes as I've never been a fan and cant remmember the rest of the story.

9/10

Crash

This was a pleasant surprise. Similar to 'Mystic River' and '21 Grams' but better than both. A serious movie that is directly related to the life of Armenians in LA and other multi-cultural cities around the world.

8/10

You wouldn't gain anything from watching Closer.

IN A MOVIE and, guess how many time IN A ROW?! 10!! maybe even more ;) oh, i just loved how the movie starts with that song... and the song is sooooo simple!!! the same sentence, but yet sang in such ways...makes you feel something different each time u hear that sentence... A movie that i was really happy to watch, that FINALLY was worth watching (for me! having in mind the tipe of movies i like) in last few monthes, is the "Momentum". The content is nothing new, neither special: the same old thing: the wife has been killed, the husband is trying to get the killer, bla bla bla. BUT, oh my God! the way it was shoot! oh, i liked it soooo much! i can't recall watching anything made that way before, uuuuuu!!!! liked it soooo much! has anyone watched it? i don't want to tell u how it was made, because it won't be interesting if u know in advance... but u won't like it also, if u like "easy" movies.

As for a movie that i felt like watching again and agian in last few months is the "Kongfu", translated into english as "chinese gongfu" i think. i love Zhou Xingchi's movies. He shows the real way chinese think, act and live, but in a funny way, so you laugh a lot, but also think at the same time: "zizaxum em, bayc lacelu ban a..."

Accel we, me and my son saw it last night, makes perfect sense, in the middle of the movie my kid was asking me what was it all about? And it all made sense in the end, I would recommend this movie very strongly, great story and great work of art which I hope could somewhat lead to understanding and harmony in this city.

Very true part of a daily life in LA

Arvy, did you see "Broken Flowers"? That was my last movie experience. If you did, did you think that it was trying too hard and ended up as a pseudo-intellectual mambo-jumbo, void of meaningful dialogue and a "shocking" praise for Bill Murray’s current choice of monotonous characters with monotonous facial expressions. It was just totally pompous.

I want to see your list of favorite old movies. In fact everyone should post their favorite old movies. Do we have a link like that?
