  1. Today's (Wednesday, April 20th) Los Angeles Times has a longish article in the 'California' ( section about the Armenian Genocide. There is a picture on the front page of the California ( section of the people marching (March for Humanity) from Fresno to Sacramento and an article on page B3. The title of the article is: Marchers Remind World of 1915 Armenian Genocide. They refer to it as the Genocide of Armenians by the Ottoman Turks and fortunatley don't use any words like 'alleged' or anything like that. I have provided a link to the article but the link is only temporary as LA times disables links after the day is over, so you guys should go out and buy a copy of the newspaper. Perhaps someone more eloquent than me can write a letter to the LA Times thanking them for this article. See article here, temporary link If you guys know of any more articles out there, please reply to this thread so we can all know about it. Thanks!
  2. Aww, that gorilla is so cute!!
  3. Sideways was excellent. It was a great movie, you should all see it! The church in the movie is St. Gregory, it's the Church I go to, the Armenian Catholic Church in Glendale.

    Experts Agree...

http://homepage.mac.com/dezendorf/binladen.jpg Perhaps journalists have figured out the ultimate way to become objective: cover all possible bases and consider every angle no matter how unlikely. Perhaps this is CNN’s new approach after cancelling shows like “Crossfire” where ‘experts’ constantly disagreed. It is nice to see all the ‘experts’ agree. Who are these 'experts' and how did they become SO brilliant?! Does anyone know how to become an ‘expert’ for the news media? Seems like an easy job.

    Lightbulb Jokes!

"How many political idealists does it take to screw in a light bulb? How many? None. Political idealists can't change shit." (modest mouse member isaac brock - rolling stone magazine) ----- How many surgeons does it take to screw in a light bulb? One. He holds up the light bulb and the world revolves around him. ----- How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb Only one but the bulb has to really want to change. ----- How many racists does it take to change a lightbulb? Racists have always been in the dark... ----- How many radical feminists does it take to change a lightbulb? JUST ONE, OKAY?!? DON'T YOU THINK WOMEN CAN DO ANYTHING MEN CAN?!? ----- How many microsoft employees does it take to screw in a lightbulb? 3 to give useless advice then refer you to the next in an endless circle, then 1 to write a program to do it for you, 1 to put a ridiculous price on that program, and one to sell you the additional software to run that program. and finally, the program doesnt work and you start again in the dark!
  6. You're right about the Tashginag song, it's tsekel, not hantsnel. As for kayl kayl oores tooon?! I remember playing that like tag. 'Agraneres ge levam gorrr', 'mazers ge sandrem gorr', (we always said the gor too)... And then whoever was the kail would run around trying to yell and scare us and catch us. Ahh I miss being that little.
  7. It seems like we have the same amount of songs, doesn't it? I mean most of what some of you said in Arevelahayeren (Eastern Armenian) I recall having sung in Arevmdahayeren (Western Armenian).
  8. I remember this game, we used to sing this and do the same thing you described... Tashginage hantsnel goozem yes, goozem yes, goozem yes. Tashginage hantsnel goozem yes, pari yeghoghi me, tserke dzaloghi me.
  9. It is a verrry short book. I can't see it taking more than 15 min to read. It's only about 70 pages. I will read it.
  10. "ficto-journalism and journo-fictionalism"

    What Is Beautiful?

I think that a lot of things can be beautiful. More beautiful than physical beauty, or any kind of beauty you can touch or feel, is beauty that can be found in words... Maybe because when you read something you see it in your imagination the way you might perceive it to be and it's like putting a personal touch to something beautiful that someone else has written.. In my opinion, the follwing passage is very beautiful.
