Not really. Islam gives me full satisfaction in my life. However, I am , other than being Muslim, also Armenian. I feel Armenian , and so I do not see why I should be pushed away in this way . Wanting to be accepted by one's own does not say anything about whether or not Islam and the Qur'an are lacking. That is like saying that if someone has a quarrel with his parents , then he should not want to make things right because if he does want it, then it means that his religion is not fulfilling his spiritual needs.

Yes, I do not know Monte personally. Most communists did not know Lenin or Marx personally. They knew their views. THey had read their writings or heard them talk. I have heard Monte Melkonian talk and not once has he talked about Christian vs Muslim , he has talk about the right of Armenian people to self-determination , he has talked about liberation , he has talked about how the Azeris do not feel connectedness to the land and that is why they are running away because they do not think it worthwhile to fight for what is not theirs . But never has he said that the fight has been against Muslims. He also has talked about the Azeris' maltreatment of other ethnic minorities , which are MUSLIM. like the Talysh. So I am not making 'predictions'.

Actually it is funny, I was never expecting to be called a Turk , I knew that people would not accept me as Armenian and would call me traitor , but a Turk ? I mean that is some big conspiracy theory, a Turk who has learned Armenian and Arabic and lives in Lebanon , and comes onto an Armenian forum to post about Muslim Armenians ?

 

Btw I was here for some time and did not sign up only now , I was here during the Summer war on Lebanon.

 

 

Anyway it is funny that when all run out of arguments that would convince people that one cannot be Muslim and Armenian at the same time , people start turning things personal , even those who were at one point respectful and were discussing normally.

You keep saying that but when the time comes for Jihad, you will have to kill Armenians. You are trying to make everything sound all wonderfull and peachy while in reality, being muslim and being Armenian (last I checked the official religion of the country was Christianity) go very much against each other. To you, the Christian Armenians are the infidels yet you want them to accept you as their own.

 

Sassun, it is as simple as this:

 

DO YOU RECOGNIZE CHRISTIANITY as a LEGITIMATE religion? If you do, then I still think you can be Armenian even though you yourself claim to be muslim. I just know you cannot recognize Christianity if you are a muslim. You must denounce it. And there in lies your problem. IF you were an accepting person youself, PERHAPS, PERHAPS you yourself might have been something worthy of acceptance by the Armenian community at large.
