As we spik/speak, Shiton Perez, the former PM is “spikking” and he is using the word “peace”, he makes it sound like “piss”.

Piss on him and his tribe.!!

Of course, Sassun, we know that you are a "good Christian", and that you read that book of lies daily, regardles, we also know that you are good pesron. I may not be a "good Chrsitian" in the strict sense and definition, yet I know I am not a bad person, others say so too.

Do you still read and believe that book of lies written by those sonofabitches?

This may be a different "Sassun" (new member). There is also a "Sasun" which may be quite confusing.

I want to remind you that Israel has one all the wars so far and its not just because of the military capabilities. Today Israel has normal relations with Egypt and Jordan, and thats a proof that they can live in peace with Arab neighboors when they are not attacked or provoked. Jordan has hundreds of thousands palestinians who hate Israel just as much as Hizballah and yet you dont see one attack launched from Jordan on Israel. Why? Because Jordanians keep control of their country and its borders. Lebanon proved to be a different story.

Israelies are patriots, in the difficult moments they unite so Israel will not go down the "sewers" as Arpa put it. There are many people here who dont support the policies of the government, oppose the occupation and hate oppression just like anyone else. To put them all in one basket and call them "murderous jews" is simply not fair. But even them, when the moment comes when their country is at war, will fight to the last man. They proved it on many occasions.

Israel made a bad mistake by underestimating the enemy, the Hizballah, allowing them to regroup, rearm and prepare for this war. Actually Israel made many mistakes, bombing civilian targets is brutal and not justified, as I said before, those who gave orders for that should be put to trial for war crimes. But then same should be applied to Nasrallah, I want to see him on trial for starting this mess, he is just as much responsible for the misery of Lebanese people because he is using them as hostages in war. They hide like rats among the civilians, perfectly knowning that once they draw fire, the blame will be put squarely on Israel. Come out and fight like a man, if you are talking about honor.

This war must stop, before it goes out of control. I hope sanity prevails on both sides before its too late.

Israel might have won all its wars until now, but this is not one of them.

Israel has normal relations with Egypt and Jordan - both are dictatorships. Actually, you're wrong - Palestinians in Jordan are given jobs, citizenship, and so on, unlike in Lebanon where they do not have any status, are not allowed to have any jobs, etc.

Israelis unite? So do Lebanese. You cannot imagine how united we are. I myself am surprised. The Israelis I am sure are not so united. They are panicking, and one thing that proves it - the Israeli government is censoring the media.

HezbAllah started this mess? HezbAllah merely targeted military personnel, and kidnapped them. They are prisoners of war, not civilian hostages. Nasrallah was playing by the rules of war, but Israel chose to take things to a different level. Nasrallah is not holding any Lebanese hostage - it is Israel that is holding 4 million Lebanese hostages. They are a resistance movement, that means they are from the people, they are the people. I bet the Israelis wouldn't call the Jews in the Warsaw uprising cowards hiding behind civilians. HezbAllah has not been hiding among civilians. Israel is targeting civilians then saying HezbAllah has hid there. The southern suburbs of Beirut which are being pounded by Israel have been evacuated of civilians - something the Israeli government refuses to acknowledge, despite solid proof. So far not one HezbAllah RESISTANCE fighter has been martyred. 2 Lebanese Army soldiers have been killed, and more than 200 civilians (unofficial figures). Chemical weapons have been used. Israel is desperate to show its teeth. But to whom? HezbAllah is the people, from the people, and will always spring up again, no matter how much the people are struck by Israel.

Israel has lost all control. It has lost its mind. Even I, who hate Sharon - the butcher of Lebanon, can say that his government was more sane than the current Olmert government. Sanity prevails on our side. HezbAllah has moderated its reactions (trust me, it has), it is Israel that has lost all control.

Nasrallah to shortly give speech.

My apologies!

Thanks Sip.

For a moment I thought our own “christian” Sasun may have moved his pulpit from NJ to Lebanon.

I guess we can accommodate more than one Sasun/Sassun., be they Lebanese or New Jersey-ite.

J J

But, how there can be two Sasuns spelled the same way? Am I missing something?

Yes , I am. It is in the SSS’s. One is Sasun and the other SaSSun.

Althouh I could have been fooled as they both speak in perfect (American) English.

Won? Like winning the battle and losing the war?

As long as Israel maintains its xenophobic, I mean their hate of aliens like the Elamites, the Philistines, Amorites, Assyrians, Palestinians, Syrians et al, they will go “down the sewer” as they did in 70AD. They’d better amend their ties with their Nazi bosom buddies since, as things progress they may have to resettle in Berlin and Warsaw.

Powerful speech by Nasrallah. Here are some key points:

-Strategic:

.The Israelis have been lying about a number of things.

.First of all, our resistance fighters faced Israeli tanks trying to enter Ayta al-Sha'b, the first was destroyed. Then came another, and it too was destroyed, then came a third, and it, too was destroyed.

.Second, the Israelis claimed a civilian ship was also struck by a HezbAllah rocket. We assure you that we have solid proof that this ship was in fact not targeted by HezbAllah.

.We have been very moderate and reserved in our reactions, and on the first day responded by targeting only military bases, and I assure you, we had many achievements in targeting strategic facilities and air reinforcement bases.

.We were patient, but the Israelis took our patience in the wrong way. We are moderating our reaction but that does not mean that this will always be the case.

.The Israelis claim they destroyed HezbAllah missile batteries, but I can assure you, the houses that were hit were civilian houses, and there were no missiles nor fighters there, only civilians. I can assure you that our missile stockpiles are intact, and we have LOTS of it.

-To the Lebanese:

.Do not worry about the material damage, material damage can be repaired, everything can be rebuilt. We promise that we will do our share and take our responsibility in this, and we assure you that we have many friends who are willing to provide us as much help us possible without any political conditions.

.It is us, and not the Israeli enemy that defines where, when, and what. We decide the time and place.

.The Israelis look down upon us, insisting that those fighting them are Iranians, as if we as Arabs and Lebanese are inferior and cannot fight.

-To the Arab and Islamic Worlds:

.Today, this very sensitive situation provides an opportunity to unite. You have seen the Arab League, they even admitted their inability to achieve peace, your leaders are helpless. If you let this go on - and it is none of my business if you wish to do so - then the Zionist enemy, and its master USA will only increase their strength and power over our peoples, stealing our resources, imposing their values on us. At any rate it is your choice. This is not a call for uprising, I am merely pointing out that this is a huge opportunity to stand up and unite, and not fall prey to our enemies' attempts to sow civil and sectarian strife in our midst.

ԲՍՐԻ ԳԱԼՈՒՍՏ ՔԵԶԻ!

Yes, now thanks to Sip and Yervant I do realize that you are not the Sasun from NJ.

My bad, and my apologies.

Even though I should have noticed the number of SS’s, I have been scratching my head in puzzlement as to how our Sasun of NJ, who still maintains that that book, that piece of crappy lies, written by those faex populi is still the “gospel truth“, could have made such a turnabout .and become so critical of the people he admires most, and who he claims have never l, never will tell a lie, admiring them even more than us Armenians.

There was just now a press conference of the Israeli Air Force and the Intelligence. They showed number movies of the hits on rocket launchers and building in Beirut (which they claimed are intelligence centers of Hizballah). They admitted Hizballah has many many rockets, in thousands, but also said they have managed to distroy some parts of them. Over 30 rockets were fired today to Israel, one of which claimed 8 lifes in Haifa Train station. Nothing is said about tanks which Hizballah claims to have distroyed, which is obviously a propoganda since there are no ground forces in Lebanon, all the military activity is limited to bombing. Obviously the big part of this war is pshycological. I am pretty sure both sides use false information to disinform the enemy. There is no panic on this part of the border, people just stand by and wait until this shit calms down. Thats it for now. Edited by 15levels

Robert Fisk has always reported from the Arab side, he spent many years in Beirut and Middle East as The Independant correspondent, his articles always present Arab side of the story, never Israeli. He has been the biggest critic of US and Britain policy toward Middle East, well, his view of Turkey needs no introduction. He is a big friend of Armenia. But objective about Israel he has never been.

I guess by calling him unbiased I meant that he doesn't always adhere to the Israeli POV. He doesn't need to present the Israeli POV because CNN, MSNBC, FOX, and all the other corporate media outlets do that while omitting the Arabs' views.

Sassuntsi Tavit indeed!!!! Arpa

In North America or in Europe twenty three years old youth would think of one thing, you guessed it the opposite sex or same sex for homosexuals to be politically correct, but Sassoun at this tander age has a great analitical ability and a good head on his shoulders.

Even though he might look biased with his remarks, being Lebanese Armenian myself I know where he is coming from. Having said that his analysis is very well balanced in my opinion.

Sassoun keep reading and reading thats where your knowledge source is. :)

On the other hand Turks could easily say the same thing.

Objective about Turkey he has never been. You can't accept his findings about Turkey and refuse about Israel. Either this person is honest or dishonest, can't be both.:)

Actually, not true. We watched on TV as ANB correspondent in Israel pointed to Israeli tanks at Zarit moving towards the Lebanese border for a "limited" operation.

A civilian cement factory in Chtoura was just hit. Beirut Airport also hit again.

Actually it makes no sense that rockets would be kept in Southern Beirut because the range of these rockets is not that high really, they are short range, and they are used from the south. Edited by Sassun

What I personally can't wait for is all the new posts we are going to get in a few months about how the Israeli's, through strong jewish loby in the US, got Ahmadinejad elected in Iran so they would have a chance to level southern lebanon and stregthen their military grip over the region by getting rid of the local Hezoblla ... oh I can just see this coming :D

Israel's actions rule out any objective reporting.

What is there to be objective about in reporting the massacre of civilians?

No doubt, massacre of civilians is a war crime whoever commits it. However if memory serves me well Lebanese did a pretty good job massacring each other during the civil war. Hizballah is a terror entity, either way you look at it and until its gone from the south Lebanon, I dont see this conflict ending.

Well you are shifting the debate. Your argument was about the subjective reporting of Robert Fisk. Robert Fisk also reported on the massacres that the Lebanese committed. So what is your point?

HezbAllah is not a terror entity any more than Israel is a terrorist state.
