I Don't like computer art.Call me old fart,I still like the smell of paints and real canvases.

That's not a problem, you can put some paint and canvas next to your computer for the smell, and run photoshop :)

Ed. I did recieve one email from you months ago, and I think I have answered, maybe you did sent another email, but I did not recieve it, all my email stuff and thing were secrewed up, I lost two emails that I was supposed to send to your brother, one of them was over 8 page long. :( I sent it to the wrong email address and could not get it back from the "sent" emails, because after I sent it I could not access to the email address of mine. The stupid thing was that I recieved a mail falulre due to non-existing or full mailbox, I did not remember at that time the letter I sent was there so I could send it, when I remembered I could do it, I lost it.

I probably have bunch of emails from people, and the sad things is that I can even not access them. :(

BTW, if your email concerned you comming to Montreal, ;) I did not recieve such email.

BTW, I am continuing that painting of mine, I will be adding Ataturk on it.

Domino email in question was about British archives and wasn’t about my trip to Montreal.

It's not clear when I'll be up there so far I'm busy with this new German machine I bought, till I get things smoothen out I wont be able to go there.

P.s let me see your Ataturk "creation" maybe I can add some “futures” to it ;)

if can convert from photoshop to corel draw you can export files into DXF format, send them to me and I'll show you what can we do. B)

Hmmm... I never have read an email about British archives, so it must have been an email sent after I lost access to my email.

As for converting... I don't have corel draw installed right now, but I have an idea what you can do with it, if it is taking the vectorial image and playing with it on 3d programs or animations like Flash. :) Remind me in few days about this after I reinstall my system, since I will be installing Corel Draw by then.

Edward jan, just in case you have a large suitcase, can I come too.

I LOVE Spain. and Italy too been to both. 2.5 weeks in spain(not enough) and 3 weeks in Italy(way too short)

Would you mind if I make couple of recommendations in Spain?

Prado Museum - To die for. Just incredible probably top 5 in the world. Dont forget to go to the adjacent building to see Guernica. Be prepared to be searched heavily.

Toledo - 1 hour drive from Madrid. Great medieval city. Make sure to visit the cathedral and the small museum next to it to see the works of El Greco

Modern Art museum in Madrid.

Madrid overall is a great city, but the city that I LOVE is Barcelona

Swim in the mediterranean. if I can do it in January, so should every one that visits. :)

Picasso Museum

Miro Museum

Dali Museum

Gaudi buildings

Walk everyday on Las Ramblas

Visit Montserrat. it is an old monastery in the high mountains north of Barcelona. Built right into the mountain. make sure to buy a bit of yogurt and dried nuts from the ladies that stand there and sell that stuff. It is too tasty to describe it.

If you have time try to visit Seville. It is a beautiful moorish city about 4 hours south of Madrid.

Spain is just great. Lots of things to see and do. VERY nice people and the spanish women at HOT HOT HOT

Oh man, how I miss Spain. I can write pages and pages.

I've also visited Spain the day of the terrorist bombings in MAdrid.

I spent9 days in Spain. Visited Barcelona, valencia, Alicante, Toledo, Madrid, Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Zaragosa....

From the museums I think that you forgot to emntion the Thyssen museum which was right next to the Prado. DId you visit it? The museum had 2 of Arshile Gorky's paintings. I liked Prade, even though my dad said that they should re construct the interior of the museum (he was comparing it with the Leningrad museum's interior). Unfortunatelly, my stay in Barcelona was limited (even though my trip started with Barcelona and ended in BArcelona) so i didn't have enough time to visite Miro's and Picasso's museums. I was only able to visit Thyssen and Prado. I lvoe TOLEDO... I even took a picture of the whole city from across the river. I've been to Europe before number fo times but haven't seen anything close to Toledo. I also found ALhambra Palace in Granada very interesting. Spain was sooo expensive. Everything was 1 1/2 times expensive than here in US and they're salaries aren't as high as ours. Standard of living wasn't that high. I was told that when peso was SPains currence soem eyars back everything was very cheap relative to other countries in Europe, but not after when they accepted euro. There were so many poor people in the streets. I wasn't used to seeing that at all... One thing that i don't agree with you is the comment you made about Spainish women :) Before going to SPain I thought that PSainish women and guys were hot and gorgeous but not untill i got there :) I hardly ever saw any attractive women on the streets. There were some hot guys but I thought that i would see more of them...I was also suprised to see that very few people spoke english there. Did you notice how much hindus, sikh, north african arabs and central american immigrants there were on the streets. I knew that Spain had some Arab immigrants but not so many hindus. I'm planning to go back next year.

Also, from my armenian friend in MAdrid I heard that there's many hayastantsi Armenians who steal stuff form the stores and sell things that they stole (including food) to their fellow Armenians for a cheaper price. She also told me that one of teh Armenian firends always bragged about stealing her clothes form stores adn that she said that why the hell would she want to pay money for something if she cna get it for free. One of the many stories i ehard form here regarding hayastantsi Armenians in SPain.

One thing that surprised me was the lack of security in Spain right after the terrorist bombing of Madrid. I only saw few security guards in the Airport (the way it is during peaceful time) and I didn't see any police in teh streets. It felt like nothing happened in teh country, unlike how it was in the US.

Hi everyone, I thought to start a new thread, which is open to any Art discussion. The present Avatar is a linonium cut that is I carved out the image and applied the paint by hand and then printed it. Since there is no set color scheme every print comes out unique. This one is called “Morning”

Edit Note: Dear Armat, Sorry I edited your post and put a copy of your current avatar on my site with a link here. That way in the future if you change your avatar this thread will still be accurate. --Azat

Wow! I can't believe it was 7 years ago when Armat started this discussion! Man, times goes fast....

Is Armat around? I would love to discuss art again.

BTW, I have been painting for the last 1.5 years or so, mostly in the abstract geometrical (hard edge) style. But I also do drawings, it's a tremendous fun to draw from life, though I am not that good.

Here are my works (I also do a photography here and there) http://www.sassoonkosian.com
