I just remembered about another story related to one of my male professors. I was taking micro economics class which I disliked. I'm more into macro economics than micro economics. The same professor was my French professor the semester before so we knew each other well and he liked talking to me. I didn't study at all in his micro economics class. I remember opening my book few times during the semester. I thought that I was going to fail the class so I registered for it again for the next semester. I forgot to mention that I got a B in his macro economics class few semesters before. I remembered that he told me that he wrote a book on marxism so I asked him how I can get hold of that book and he told me that it was out of print because he published it in 1950's. He told me that he can send me one if I give him my address. At the end of the semester I told him that I got a B in his other economics class and I also reminded him to send me his book. He did send me his book after the semester was over (he asked me to send him a check for $30). After few weeks I found out that I got a B in his micro economics class for which I didn't study at all. There wasn't any physical attraction at all. He was around 75 years old, may be even older than that. I liked him a lot as a person, not because of the fact that I was getting good grades in his classes.

I've had only one great female professor, the rest were B****. I was taking a math class last semester and throughout the semester I was telling my female prof that I really needed to get a B in her class. I studied hard and my test grades were mostly Bs and few As (we had 8 tests throughout the semester) and our final exam was worth a lot of points and it was cumulative. In the beginning of the semester she told the class that she will give some of us some extra homework to earn points if we're on boarderline. At the end of the semester I had 82% (not including the final exam points) and I went up to her to to ask for some extra credit and she refused to let me do some extra homework so that I can earn extra points in order to maintain my B just in case if I did not do well on my final exam. I didn't really do well on my cumulative final exam and I ended up getting a 79% (total percentage for the class). I went up to her to see if she can raise it to 80% since I had a B throughout the semester and I did all of my homework. She said that she has to follow the "rules" of her syllabus, so even though I was about 10 points away from getting the grade that I had previously and the grade that I was aiming for, I ended up with 79%. I was very upset because she knew how bad I needed to get the B and she knew that I even asked her for some extra homework before. I still think that I did deserve that B and the final exam didn't really count for me (it was hard and we had about 28 statistics problems to complete in only 2 hours and many people didn't finish it on time). I never had that experience with my male professors. I bet if my prof was male then I would get that B in his class. Once I was taking an art history class and I forgot to turn in my final exam at the end of the semester. I don't know what I was thinking at that moment. I turned in my art history reserch paper and I forgot to turn in my final exam. Once I got home I realized that I didn't turn it in and I wrote him an email explaining what happened and begged him to at least give me some credit for taking it or let me take it again. I didn't hear from that male professor for few weeks after number of emails and I thought that he probably didn't care and didn't believe that I accidentally took it home and at that point I would have settled for a C). After few weeks I saw that I got an A in his class I can assure you that physical attraction was not the reason for my A. To this day I think that he was gay because he was extremely femenine. I just think that men professors are more easy going and easy to deal with than women. I knew that he did believe me and it was very generous of him to give me that A. Most professors would never do that, especially women. I also get along well with male associates. To this day I had more male friends than female friends. My friendship with males lasted much longer than with females.

I don't really know what the secrets are since I've never been married but all I can say is that the above scenario that you described should not surprise anyone. After all, isn't that the way it's suposed to be? Too bad most men today either pretend to be gentlemen in the beginning or they just lack that quality in general.

100% agree. As a female I can assure you that quantity does not really matter. Most Armenian men think that they're the best just because they had multiple partners. I can also add that a lot of Armenian men do not know much about females anatomy. They think that our bodies function the same way as their bodies. They should realize that if it takes them few minutes to get the job done (satisfy themselves) it does not take few minutes to satisfy females. Most Armenian men are very selfish when it comes to sex. They only care about their satisfaction and I think that it all comes down to our male dominated culture. People put too much emphsis on sex. I noticed that some people here explain human sexuality with quotes from the Bible I find that hilarious! The Bible has nothing to do with our needs (the way humans are programmed) and our sexuality. If so many people find that having sex before marriage is such a bad idea then when they shouldn't have sex at all. If I'm judged by a guy for my preference of not wanting to stay a virgin then I could care less about such a guy. If he does not care more about my personality, looks, and what kind of a human being I am in general then I don't need a shallow "man" like that in my life at all. I don't owe my future husband whom I haven't even met yet anything at all. He has no right to judge the choices that I made way before meeting him. I can never understand why some Armenian women save themselves for that special occasion. By the time they reach the age of 30 and still find themselves not married they start thinking how foolish that is not only for their own health but also how absurd it seems. How many women would feel proud to be 30+ years old and still a virgin?

Why would they (who ever it was) lie about that? So stupid. One thing I don't understand is how come when I called the church to reserve some tickets they took down my info and told me that the tickets are $65 each for his concert and gave me additional info about where he's going to perform.

I just called the church to find out how to get the tickets which have been already reserved and they said that the whole thing was a hoax and that some guy spread the lies about Aznavour's invitiation. Does anyone know what's going on?

Thanks for your advice. Since I already called and punched in my Id to postpone it (couldn't do it), I decided to just show up there tomorrow before work and tell them that I've been away for a while and that I got the letter 4 days ago. I'll tell them that I tried to postpone it few days ago over the phone but I was not able to do it so I decided to do it in person. I can just say that I'm replacing someone right now at work and I can not miss any days because a lot is depended on me. What's the worste they can do? Fine me $1,000 for not being able to miss my work and my summer school?

What was the point in dancing around the mountain? When I first heard about this I thougt that the idea was absurd and pointless. I'm sure that some of you may not agree but this is the dumbest thing that I ever heard. It's funny Couldn't they find a better way to be included in the Guniess book of world records besides circling a mountain.

Azat, I don't know what I was thinking when i called thema dn punched in my numbers It looks like they want me to show up on June 6th but I have work the whole day. My boss told me today that I could just call them and say that I am not a US citizen (I am a citizen). He also says that they can not find out about that because they have no access to the US immigration bureau. I was thinking that it could be true because they selected my name through DMV not because I registered to vote this year. I don't really mind serving it but at this moment I'm too caught up with work and one of my associate has just left the country so I'm doing both of our works and basically there's no missing work untill she returns. I should have postponed it before but I totally forgot about the letter since it was out of site. I heard that some people show up there and declare that they discriminate against different people and they were sent home right away. Anyone tried that before? Is it also bad that i did not send them the questionare within 10 days of reciving the letter from them? I was thinking that maybe I can tell them that i haven't been living at that address for few months now and I got the letter from my neigbor 5 days ago so that's why i wasn't able to respond sooner. Will that work?

I would go but I'm working a lot. I guess they want me to show up on June 6 but I forgot to fill out the form that they usually want you to fill out. I called yesterday after 5pm to postpone it but almost all the dates were filled. Does that mean that I'm geoing to get fined $1,000? Are teh courts open after 5pm on saturday and sunday?

Has anyone been called up for jury duty? I got a letter few months ago but I forgot to reply and I just found the letter on my bookshelf under my books It looks like I had to call them today. On the back of the letter it says that whoever does not show up will be fined up to $1000. What can I do to get out of it or is it too late? I think I'm supposed to show up at teh court on Monday but I haven't even replied to them. Can I just say that i never got the letter from them and I I've been living somewhere else lately? plzzz helppp

I just checked the news and I found out that the shares went up to almost 22% in the first hour of the trading being priced at $100.01...

As of tomorrow Google is going public with initial share price set at $85. The company originally set their share price between $108 to $135 but decided to lower it. I'm thinking about buying few shares myself (being a broke a** student I cant' afford more at this point) but I am far from being a stock market wiz, so I would like to ask the business smart people of this forum about that idea. Are there any particular trading websites that I can go to in order to buy these stocks? Also, anyone thinks that it isn't such a good idea since the company has just gone public? Advices are greately appreciated.

Almost all the people I knew in Armenia loved and listened to Ray Charles. I'm not sure if it was serious or not but last year when I was in Armenia I was told by a jazz pianist that the Armenian government wanted to invite Ray Charles to Armenia.

Ray Charles was an ICON for me. It makes me angry to see the ignorance of the media regarding his death. It's a shame. He was a great man and a true genius. He'll be missed.
