THOTH Posted December 12, 2003 Report Share Posted December 12, 2003 Of course Sev-Marde - your both a thinker and someone with a heart...most young single folks I don't think can really relate to or understand what it is like to have a family of one's own - the responsibility and the love. Most young single folks (and older ones as well) tend to be very self-centered to the extreme and think only of their own immediate needs - me me me...but there is much more to life then that. I'm glad that you are different. And it was very special of your father to share those thoughts with you. ANd yes - as my children go older it may become less of a fear and turn into more of a selfish thing...as I will desire to play with grandchildren and be a super special someone to another little one/ones all over again (and this time with no diapers to change, homework to help with, breakfasts, lunches and dinners to fix, pick up after etc etc etc...) hyebruin Posted December 13, 2003 Report Share Posted December 13, 2003 "the biggest fear is fear itself"---either kennedy or roosevelt said that... and it is true!! we waste so much time living in the 'hypothetical' worlds we create with our fears and insecurities and twisted imaginations that we forget the present and the gift of time that we have to share with those we love... so, i guess my biggest fear would be to wake up one day and realize that life has passed me by...
