  1. Please note that I have not the article. I would not waste my time. I have seen that movie numerous times. quote:Originally posted by Rubo:You may wander why am I posting this subject? What’s this got to do with Armenian? Fair question. I believe if you have a conflict issues (i.e. Israeli denial of AG, patriarchy land confiscation attempts) with a particular ethnic or country groups, it is relative and necessary to understand them. By understanding we should try to go beyond clichés and media brainwashing and to arrive to closest possible truths. Controversial Jewish Professor Takes On 'Holocaust Industry' The Holocaust Industry t turn out to be the "greatest robbery in the history of mankind"... The Holocaust ==============Dear Ruben, if that is indeed your given name, why are you called that? Why don't you have a name like Aramazt, Ara, Aram, Vahagn, Tork or Hayk? You may ignore the above comment. To borrow a phrase from that great American philosopher, Yogi Berra, let us begin at the beginning. Where else does one begin!!?? You are called Ruben and many other Armenian boys are called, Moses, Aaron, Adam, Hovsep, Hakob, just as many Armenian girls are named Ruth Esther, Maryam and not Anahit, Astghik, Ashkhen, Nane etc. Ad nauseam, ad infinitum. Dear Rubo, tsav@d tanem! I can see your concern, I feel your pain. It hurts even more when I see that you're hyperventilating on this forum, wasting your breath when your detractors are airing their LIES in the world's most prestigious and the most read media. This is nothing new. This sort of falsities have been being aired for at least 5000 years. And for all those 5000 years the world has been eating it. Us the "geniuses" have been asking for more. You asked for it, you got it. As above, let us begin at the beginning. Since the dawn of civilization they have been hijacking world literature, they have been altering it to fit their own agenda and selling it to an unsuspecting world. Why would the world care? How have those fables and lies affected the British, the French, the Russianns the Americans and a host of others. It takes only a "genius" to take those stories to heart and trash culture and traditions of thousands of years and start naming their chirlden Ruben, Moses etc. instead of Vahagn, Hayk and Tork. It takes only "geniuses" that we are to forget our own folklore and mythology to totally gobble up alien mytholgies such as Noah's Ark and others. It only takes "geniuses" like us to totally and actively destroy our own heritage and instead chase alien ghosts in the desert, the wilderness. It only takes "geniusess" like us to see that our "love" was not only not reciprocated but it was shunned, sneered at and ridiculed. There are those of us on this forum who may be more familiar with that "heap of lies" known as the Scripture by some. They can tell us where and when did those self appointed "authors" of that book loved any body, any time? Which of their neighbors did they love? Was it the Egyptians, The Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Philistines, the Samaritans? And, of course the Armenian? Where did they write or confess orally that they and the Armenians were relatives, that their legacy and destiny coincided? They have never, they never will. The Holocaust and the Genocide are worlds apart, they have nothing in common. You cite the differences. Dear Rubo, what you are doing is not new, albeit with a twist. You may not remember the days, a few decades ago when the Armenians were airing such articles only then the tone was the total reverse. It was time when they, once again to promote their own agenda, paid token tribute to the Genocide and the Armenian just so they could get funds from the US government. Once they got that they totally ignored and forgot us. No they reversed their stance 100%. Yet the "geniuses" that we are we could not see it. WE kept on lavishing them with cudos and gratitutes. We professed our love towards them and actually believed that, now that they had their museum it was time for them to promote our agenda. It takes only an "idiot" like me to see that we were barking up the wrong tree. It would take only an "idiot" like me to see that, besides all the reasons cited above, they and the Turks were natural allies. Once again, tell us who do they say they loved? Which neighbor were they in peaceful existence throughout their so called history of 5000 years? It does not take a genius to see that those two are natural bosom buddies. Which one of them has a fan club in their neighborhood? Is that why both of them ignore and insult their immediate neighbors and instead choose to flirt with unsuspecting people 10,000 miles away across the oceans? This is getting too long. I'll skip over some details and repetitions and fast forward to the present. And now, all of a sudden, not unexpectedly, we learn that Turks and Jews have been "lovers" for a long time, namely since the Spanish inquisitions. What a bunch of lies!!! Although it does not surprise us that the two masters of historical falsification, one a master and the other the eager and willing pupil, would come up with such a fairy tale. The world is blind and deaf. Why would they care? They still believe in that book of fables all the way from Genesis to the Revelations. If in fact they were such "lovers" why did it take 500 years to found a state of Israel? Why did the Jews from Spain were prohibited to proceed to their "Promised Land" and instead were stuck in Istanbul and other places? Why did not the mighty Ottomans who had absolute hegeony on those lands not allow them to have their own land? What kind of love is that? We know, better. We know that the Ottomans not only did not love them but they had some choice words for them. Once again, this is getting too long. Let's get to the main topic. Dear Rubo, I think you are wasting valuable ink. You are telling stories to an audinece who seem to know enough about the subjectalready. You would do us all and the world an invaluable service if you would redirect your pen and show the world how the "emperor has no clothes". They are writing in the world's most read media. You too could write in those papers, appear on TV shows and show the world, once and for all, how we have been eating those lies, and are still doing so with an avaricious appetite. Would the world care? Would they believe you? Why would they care? Have the Americans lost even one grain of sand? Have the British lost even one inch of their land? We are the only idiots who let our defenses down, forgot our mighty gods of war and conquest. Was it the egg of the chicken? Did we become the bunch of cowards (don't tell that to the heroes of Artsakh)because we swallowed that bankrupt philosophy "lox stock and bagel"? Or were we already a bunch cowardly peaceniks and that bankrupt philosophy fit us to the tee? In conclusion. Why are you so upset? What it is that the Jews owe us and are not giving? Where does it say that they owe us something, anything? Where does it say that they are our kin and friends? Who says that? When were they our kin and friends? Armenians must be the most idiotic fantasizers of them all. We create stories and we believe in them. WE tell lies to ourselves as how smart we are, how we are the smartest people to have adopted that new fangled religion before any other idiot beat us to the finishing line, as if there was some kind of a booby prize. Yes, there was, it made us the biggest boobs of all time. What is worse is that we believe all that, all the lies that we created in the first place. And when our fantasies back fire we get all upset and frustrated. It was not promised to us and if you expect... you will be disappointed every time. If you think you can shame them to an alliance with us then you may not have heard the old story about the ****ik who when spat on the face said; "Oh inch lav, andzrev e galis" Please move your soap box to the NYT, WP, WSJ, the Times of London and every piece of rag in between. Hye forum is not big enough for that message. Plus there are those who spy on us and they will label an "Anti...something or other". The latest tool of propaganda, and judging from this point seems to be the most effective as the world seems not to know who the Semites are. This will be my reference to the subject and if I did not get my message across then it must be my poor English.

    "ya" te "e"

quote:Originally posted by nairi:"ya" and "e" are both adjectives. "ya" is grabar/classical Armenian, "e" is modern Armenian. From Dzon by D. Varouzhan; "Eghegnya grchov ergetsi parqer. Qezi @ndza, im Hayrenik Sosyats antaren eyi zayn ktrer... Qezi @ndza hin Hayrenik, Eghegnya grchov ergetsi qourmer, @nd eghegan pogh luys elaner. The last line refers to Vahagni Ts@nound@ by Khorenatsi that goes, (second stanza;) @nd eghegan pogh dzoukh elaner, @nd eghegan pogh botz elaner, Ev i botzouyn vazer khartyash patanekik... -------- Nairi is right, well, partially. It all depends on the context, i.e. what you want to say. "ya" is a suffix, hetadas masnik (grabar) to form an adjective, atsakan just like the "en" suffix in English, as in gold/golden, voski/voskya. The "e" ending is the grammatical declension/holovum as serakan, trakan, batsarakan and gortsiakan, in that light it would be voski, vosku, VOSK-E, voskov. VOSKE=FROM GOLD and VOSKYA=GOLDEN
  6. Yosif, 'Ozraeel Yakhdak! quote:Originally posted by HOVSEP KASHISHIAN:To ARPA:WHO ASSIGNED THEM JUDJE JURY AND EXECUTIONER???.Hagarag did, dont you read his responses,he thinks we Armenians should go down on our knees and beg them to be nice to us.RUBO: I agree with you 100%. I have sworn to not refer to the "Old Hag" but you compel me.He needs to have a physio-psychological exam and as he has his head examined he may also have another part of his anatomy too to see if he qualifies to belong in the ranks of the "chosen people". No, we won't miss him. Agree 100 % with Rubo? I don't get it! You mean we must continue to talk those damn Jews and like the proverbial chaylam bury out heads in the sand (there is no sand in Hayastan), shirk our duties and wait under their big voriks hoping that they may give us permission to BE?!!! FYI, We have BEEN long before that idiot Abraham came from there to there. Why are we ignoring 5000 years of our heritage and begging to be recognized by a people who, according to their own fables may have a "history" less than half of our own? CAN WE STOP TALKING ABOUT THSOE DAMN JEWS AND MIND OUR OWN BUSINESS? Emphasis on MIND our OWN. They are taking good care of their own business, thank you. At what juncture of history have they promoted OUR agenda? When did they become our advocates? Who assigned them? Did they say they are OUR lawyers defending our case? Do they even acknowledge our existence? Where does it say that they owe us anything? Can we MIND OUR own? Once again. When you know you will not like the answer why are you asking them? Are they asking us how to conduct their business? How stupid can we be believing that we can teach and old DOG new tricks!! Why are we waisting our time and breath on them, don't we have enough to talk about? Once again, as far as that "old hag" is concerned, he is free to move to Tel-Aviv or Jewrusalem. We have no business being there in the first place.
  7. That is exactly my point. Who the hell they are to mandate their will on everybody. If we don't like their answer then we should not ask them. Who the hell cares what they think about the AG? Who assigned them judge jury and executioner? Who gave them the right to be the consciece of the world? Prophwsies are a bunch of gibberish until we bring it upon ourselves. And it seems Armenians are the only imbeciles to listen to them. Why are ANCA and AAA even giving them the courtesy? Just tell them to go to hell, may then they will shut up. You don't like thier answer then tell to shut the hell up!! quote:Originally posted by Rubo:Dear Arpa,it is too bad that you did not read the posts on jews since they all are related to Armenian issues as well.Jewish lobby efforts to deny the AG and And the present Armenian land confiscation attempts by Israel (there is a letter compigh going on ANCA) are very much an Armenian issues. In case you are wondering why I did not write about Japan, china or India they do not intermingle in our affairs as Jews do. Cheers Ruben
  8. Here is a topic one can sink one's teeth in. Provided we refrain to invoke the Jews in. Even though they may have spoken about the subject it would be irrelevent since they certainly would have not included the Armenian in the picture. In fact everything they have said and say now is nothing but crack propehsy and a prophesy is not a prophesy until we make it happen. In other words, a self fulfilling prophesy. Armenians have been the willing and not so willingly victims of that. It is our turn to se that some prophesies are fulfilled and some not. quote:Originally posted by Rubo:Decline of the American empire by Ruben S. Throughout the history of humanity various empires have disintegrated and formed once again from the ashes of the former. This cycle mimics the Darwinism of natural selection and it seems American empire is also headed to abyss as well. The signs are ominous. Recent American major stocks up and rip the ........ Colon Powel shamelessly took his time to tour the Middle East on the expense of many innocent lives lost before arriving in Jerusalem for peace American “Time waits for no empires and soon we also will step on the ashes of this one perhaps greatest empire ever existed. Empires have come and gone, much like the theory of Darwinian, just like natural selection and evolution certain species have come, dominated and disappeared. Ther have many varities of the Dinosaur. Where is the Hittite Empire? What happened to the Egyptian Empire? The Assyrian? The Roman? The French? The British? The Russian? You cite the rest! Of all the empires that have come and gone only one has not yet completely vanished. As sick as it may be now and in the past it has also been extremely lucky. At the end of WWI when the Ottoman Empire, the Sick Man of Europe was all but defunct except that it was during such a crucial time that it once again was given a lease on life, if one would call it that. The world powers were preoccupied with their own problems, they weere intent to protect their own empires, or what was left of them, that they left the dismantling of the Turkish empire to its own fate. Subsequent world crises once again caused an imterruption of that natural devolution. The Turkish Empire was given a stay of execution once again when a guard dog was needed at the gates of the Russian Empire. And now, during this new era that sick empire is once again on the verge of final dissolution yet it is being kept alive by artificial means, be they financial, political or otherwise. Their luck is such that everytime it seems like she may finally collapse and become remanded to the dust bowl of history some new crisis surfaces to divert the world's attention. Speaking of the "luck of the Irish", has anybody heard of the "the luck of the Turk"? Look at their luck. It is a known fact all of Turkey's neighbors have been oppressed at some point or other, that all of her neighbors are waiting for that day to salvage and save their lost territories and pride, yet luck is such that all of her neigbors are somewaht involved in other crises. Look at Armenia and Azerbaijan, Syria, Iraq and the others. Speaking of prophesy, and some idiots who have wqritten them and in a way are still writing them, how about we write our own prophesies and see to it that it is fulfilled? How about we take the lead and bring all those oppressed by the Turks together and make sure that this time the empire finally sollapses. Many books have been written about the "Decline and (almost) Collapse of the Ottoman Empire" How about WE write the final chapter?? How to do that? Perhaps we can stop talking about other idiots, stop using them as an excuse to escape from our responsibilities and concentrate on our issues. Stop betting on others to do it for us and think of ways of how WE can do it. Empires have come and gone. There is one empire that has come to the verge of collapse numerous times. Let us see to it that this time it does not come back. PS. Can we pay some Jew to write a "prophesy" for us since it seem they have a copyright on the art?
  9. In case you are wondering, I have not read any of the posts regarding those damn Jews. Here I am, I go away for a few days and the entire forum is full of news about Jews and other garbage. Does one have to join a Jewish forum to talk about Armenian stuff? Do they talk about us? What do they say? Who cares? Why are we talking about those damn Jews? Does that mean there is nothing Armenian to talk about? Then, how about we close this damn forum and join a Jewish one. Perhaps then we may talk about Armenian things. How idiotic can we be?!! Is it not enough that we have been reading those Jewish fables that some call the Word of God? Yeah right!!! THE HELL WITH THEM!!! CAN WE TALK ABOUT OURSELVES?!! OR, IN THE LEAST, TALK ABOUT THEM AS OFTEN AS THEY TALK ABOUT US. Like never?? If this Jewish dialogue must continue then I must find another medium to talk about things Armenian. SCREW THEM!!!

    Hovsep

posted July 18, 2002 10:45 AM Wait till you hear my story about Hovsep. It is hidden somewhere in my other hard disk. It will make your stand on end. I was born in jordan,I read, write and speake arabic.if any one needs help ill be more than happy to help. Can reach me at."litlejoe43@yahoo.com". Cheef halech! Glad to hear that. Even though I spoke perfect Arabic in several dialects icluding Syrian, Lebanese and Jordanian among others, it was the the first one I lost. Could it be that I never liked the damn language? Here is your first and second question. Am I right to remember that "alQaeda" means "the registerd"? More importantly. I have come to the conclusion that, despite all the allegatioins that the Mamikonians awere of Asian/Mongolian origin, according to Khorenatsi they are from the east, perhaps from Media or even Kashmere, yet my guess is that their dynastic name smacks of Arabic/Aramean. It may have originated during Tigran !! conquest of those lands and that their name is a corruption of "mamlikun",i.e conquered, subjugated, and that they came to Armenia during those days and were nicknamed so. Of course we know where the Mamluks of Egypt got their name.

    Tefarik

Tefarik, A perfume. I have not definitively identified it yet. My guess is it is some kind of musk /ÙáõßÏ, the universally fabled ultimate aphrodisiac. No matter how many time I read this story of inaftuation and selfless love, unlike the, cynical and cruel POSTAL I still get a lump in my throat and misty eyes by its selfless motherly/sisterly love, complicated with a forbidden romance. To me it seem like this could be a semiautobiography where only an upright, compassionate and morally conscientious citizen like Zohrab would experience. Although "Amazing Grace" is a well known popular song it does not really impart the true sense, besides, it may have a copyright attached. Parzir Arbyur - ? Mi Lar Blbul - ? - i need 2 mor Thank you - all Parzir Aghbyur= OK, I forgot my silly pills this morning Am I forgiven? Or do I have to write a "Zghjum" like Petros Turian Parzir Arbyur - ? This is relatively short. Parzir=Open Aghbyur=Fountain. So the English would be "Open Fountain". But this is kind dry and Drab. Let's see if we can make it more poetic, i.e. Take some "poetic license". The formal English word for aghbyur is fountain but that would not be so poetic and it would not fit the meter. Many poets have taken the liberty to abbreviate the word to "fount". Let's see how this will fit; OPEN OH FOUNT Mi Lar Blbul - ? I would translate this as, again for the sake of poesy and meter; Cry Not My Lark! Let me explain. Many professional linguists who know much better than I have translated "blbul" into Armenian as "sokhak". It makes sense, kind of. In the Armenian tradition sokhak is the embodiment of a song bird, so much so that we describe some singers, usually female ones as; "sokhaki pes daylaylum e". In fact in its original languages, such as Arabic, blbul is used to describe a canary. The Armenian word for canary is "deghtsanik" (mainly for its yellew color). If in fact we translate it to mean sokhak then technically and scientifically it had to be translated into English as "robin". See the book "A Field Guide to Birds of Armenia", plate 44, opposite page 108. The way we know robins, they are not the model of a songbird. http://www.jjaudubon.com/havell/plates/plate131.html Some people may have had their wires crossed. "Blbul" is from the original Persian. My Pers-Eng dictionary defines it as "lark". This latter bird has been the subject of many a poet, including but not limited to Shelley, Keats et al. It has not escaped the Armenian poets either. The Armenian poets refer to "lark" as "artuyt"(I wish I could remember who has written a poem about it. Is it Daniel V. in his Hatsin Erg@? http://www.usc.edu/isd/archives/arc/librar...t/audubob1.html So, if "blbul" originally means "lark" then the Armenian for it would be "artuyt". (See same book Plate 39, opposite page 98.) Once again, for the sake of poesy and rhythm I suggest; CRY NOT MY LARK

Mosjan is very tricky. When he uses the letter "r" you'll have to be very careful and watch the context. At times he means R as "bari es eker" but more often than not he uses to sound like the French R. So if you see him write "xaror" what he really means is "khaghogh", grape. His "vorp Adanyi" was meant to be read a "voghb Aadanyi", lament not orphan. Whe he writes "gerecik" that means "geghetsik/beautiful". There ought to be law!!

Barev SAS, Bari es eker, after a long silence. If I am reading your transliteration correctly you are saying that lao is another form of eandearment (pagahkshakan) of "laj" You mean the "laj" in Komitas' Antuni where each verse ends with the refrain of "Ay! to laj tnaver". You may have a point there as "laj" according to Ajarian means "tgha". There is no explanation as to where it comes from or the origin of the word. Ajarian also mentions that many others use it in almost similar way including Kurdish etc. One suggestion which he rejects is that some have suggested that it is from the English "lad". I still meainatin that it probably has something to do with "lakot", only that it is modified to sound endearing rather than insulting. The Arabs also use "lak" in much the same way we use "dzo/tso", a soemwhat coarse way to address a boy. I will write about this under separate cover. Does anybody know a Kurd that speaks Kurdish?

It is rather to make sure that nothing is saved. The purpose of that dam is purely hostile and criminal. Turkey does not need a dam for irrigation, that part of Anatolia is one of the most fertile and arably wet. The purpose is dual and ech is more evil than the other. The one is to punish Syria and Iraq by cutting their lifeline of much needed water and the other is even more diabolic. It is to flood and bury any and all vestiges of preTurkish civilzations, whereby they can tell the wprld that all that "fable" of Armenians having lived there is just that, a figment of some peoples' imagination. I am surprised that the world community is letting them carry such a diabolic scheme. Just as it has been predicted by many the next war will be over water rights in those parts of the world. The only question is; How does Israle benefit from such scheme as the promised water must go through Syria to reach them.
