The ignorance of Armenians astounds me. The US knows full well that the long range possibilites for the region include an expanded Armenia. They can see the "handwriting on the wall." EU will not accept Turkey without some resolvement of the Armenian Question. Read paragraph six of this article linked here from a Turkish newspaper. Seems they are up in arms about a map by a former US military officer that shows a greater Armenia and a greater Kurdistan on territory held by the Republic of Turkey. They clearly have "Sevres paranoia." http://www.thenewanatolian.com/opinion-10529.html

Only those who religious beliefs cloud their thinking can reasonably conclude that a person with a heterosexual brain will desire to have sex with a person of the same sex. Persons who only use common sense will quickly conclude that these persons are "wired" differently. These guys are not in prison. There are numerous women as well as hookers in Paris to satisfy sexual desires. They are obviously attracted to members of the same sex and in no way attracted to the opposite sex. One has stated that sleeping with girls makes him feel dirty. Does that sound like someone to you with a "normal" brain? Sleeping with girls for me is an elation. I feel great afterwards. Obviously this Harut and Misha are not "wired" normally. I am not sure if my "wires are crossed" or if what I endured at a tender age by a priest created my ambivalent sexuality, but I can assure you that the guys in the article do not have a "normal" brain.

It is common sense to understand that their brain is not "normal." Any person not imbued with religious fervor will quickly come to that conclusion.

Edward, I totally agree with you. A civil union will give them all the benefits of marriage. It is not necessary to push the umbrella. Yet, the activist homosexual agenda is to push the limits. Also, why do some of these guys make a spectacle of themselves in San Francisco? I can tell you that I have very few allies among the homosexual hierarchy. I have told them that pushing gay marriage is alienating the general public. They feel that I am a Judas for this, but primarily because I love women. That and my views makes me a traitor in the eyes of the leadership. Pushing this agenda is pure idiocy because it curtails real issues such as livelihood, safety and housing.

Mind you this did not happen to me in an Armenian Church or even an Armenian Catholic Church but in an odar Roman Cathholic Church in the most exclusive section of a major American city. What "these idiots" (your term) did to me has been going on up to this day as the recent court cases show. It has been going on for a long, long time. If anybody really cared there would be an uproar. Where is the outrage? There is none! Parishoners support their priest and blame the innocent victims as "tempting" the priests. And you wonder why I am such a cynic? So many of you get upset about these two guys and others, yet no one seems to care about what is going on in the church.
-
Are the guys not Armenian? They could have done this in an odar church in Denmark. They are affiming their Armenianness! I do not condone, however, their making this public. That is being done for political reasons. I think that the homosexual lobby is pursuing frivilous pursuits. The most important things for them should be job security and basic human needs such as housing. Why are they pursuing this marriage in the churches issue? I wonder who the professional is who you are speaking of? Could it be the Reverend Doctor James Dobson?

No one is aking heterosexuals to try homosexuality. It is not like trying a new restaurant or a new article of clothing. One must be "wired that way." As for the ones like me, I am not sure. The ages from one to five are the most critical formative years. To have experienced such a transgression from a member of the church at such a tender age surely has impacted my perceptions and feelings. I am still strongly attacted to beautiful women. But for the homos, who have not had such a traumatic experience in early childhood, it is clearly an issue of genetics.

Christianity in its purest form is a beautiful religion. When you have conclaves of old men sit around and interpret the teachings of Jesus is where it becomes sickness. Then the blood of hundreds of thousands is shed.

They didn't announce it until after they had returned to Paris! I parrot the late US President Ronald Reagan, who stated "Don't cross the mother alligator until after you have forded (crossed over) the river."
-
Its more like common non-sense. They are not hurting anyone. Just leave them alone. The article states that they have tried to change. It is not possible. Their condition is in-bred.Only genetic engineering can prevent this in the future.
-
Do you have a degree in psychology? Perhaps a medical degree with a specialty in psychiatry? Perhaps a Phd. in genetic biology? You must have the credentials to make the statement that you have made. Achket looys, congratulations on obtaining your advanced degree in this area of expertise.

Huh? I had read that things were different and had seen pictures of the numerous new cafes, but these panorama photos, especially of the area of the Cascades, I had not seen before.

I was "doing" guys on the side. This "friend" was dating Valerie Bertinelli at the time, had recently been dating Paula Abdul and was 1/4 Georgian. His grandmother was born in Tiflis.

I agree with you. This is a political move on their part. They are doing it in-your-face style. I led a quiet predominantly heterosexual life until one of my co-workers, irate because I spurned her affections and began a relationship with a sexy young executive secretary outed me at work. She had stalked me for weeks, trying to find out my activities. She ascertained who the woman was that I was seeing and also ascertained that I was "doing" guys on the side. She proceeded to tell everyone in my office, destroying my career. Her mother's first cousin is a famous astronaut and former US Senator. The co-worker did this to spite me. My girlfriend went on to marry a world famous LA attorney, who sent her to Loyola Law School. She is now a successful LA attorney.

Charles Poochigian is a very pragmatc Republican who follows the current party line, but does not wallow in the gutter as do Howard Kaloogian and Craig Missakian. He disagrees with others in a way that is quite collegial and is well-liked by the majority his fellow legislators on both sides of the aisle.
-
I have been sorting my papers this weekend and have found congratulatory letters to me from US Senator Charles Percy and CA State Senator Ed Davis (a former LA police chief) for my contributive efforts to their campaigns. I was a Republican before you b-----ds commandeered the Republican Party and would probably return to it if the likes of you are ever expunged from the Party.

Vartan, This has all been discussed before. I know EXACTLY what you are trying to do and I know EXACTLY your political philosophy. I have expressed very clearly who my favorites are. As I am part-Assyrian, it makes me proud that the highest current US official of the most Armenian heritage is an Armenian/Assyrian mix as am I. She is also a Congresswoman who is respected on both sides of the aisle and a person whose moderate political philosophy corresponds with mine. She is higher than Judge Der-Yeghiayan in the pecking order. What the hell do I care if he is 100% Armenian and a close associate of my former-in-laws.

Yerevan is much more beautful now from what I remember.

Vartan, Dikran Tevrizian was the first Federal Judge, not Samuel Der-Yeghiayan. The author of ther article about Judge Der-Yeghiayan erred. Furthermore, I understood quite well what you were looking for. I just added addition information about part-Armenian judges and non-federal judges to give Hyeforum readers additional information. I am glad that you have found that there is currently only one Armenian judge at the Federal level. He is consistent with the African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, etc. appointees of this President. They are all born-again Christians or Neo-Con Jews. Bush's appointees are all consistent with his born-again "christian" philosophy.
-
Vartan, I work full-time and attend graduate school. I had not kept up about Judge Tevrizian's retirement. Of course, I know about the three branches of US government. I hold a degree in Political Science and attended a prestigious US law school, but did not complete the program. My study partner was the wife of a famous US Supreme Court Justice. I am old, tired and sick with the flu. I see that you have now given me some slack. Futhermore, you will NEVER understand the rage one feels when they are violated at a tender age by a symbol of authority. That is why I will NEVER be a traditional Armenian. I know what hypocrisy lies in the foundations of the churches, including the Armenian church.

I BELIEVE THAT JUDGE TEVRIZIAN WAS THE FIRST, NOT JUDGE DER-YEGHIAYAN © 1997 -- 2005 Medill Chicago News Service — Northwestern University From Armenia to the federal bench by David Eggert August 05, 2003 Samuel Der-Yeghiayan dreamed of two things while growing up in Beirut. One was the United States. His grandfather immigrated there as a young man and worked in the steel mills in Waukegan and Racine. He was forced to return to the Middle East after his family -- all but a sister-in-law -- was wiped out in the "Armenian genocide" during World War I. The grandfather hoped his grandson would eventually follow his path, telling him: "The United States is where we belong." The young Armenian boy's other dream was of the law. It fascinated him. He read about it. He wanted to practice it. Four decades later, Der-Yeghiayan is about to achieve one of the most prominent positions in the American legal system: serving as a federal judge. "I am absolutely thrilled and at the same time absolutely humbled," said Der-Yeghiayan, 51, who will be inducted Wednesday as a U.S. district court judge for the Northern District of Illinois. Der-Yeghiayan lives in north suburban Vernon Hills with his wife, Becky, an administrative assistant in the Libertyville Elementary School District. They have two grown children. A daughter teaches English at Western Illinois University. A son is training to be an immigration inspector at O'Hare International Airport. To get to where he is now, Der-Yeghiayan accomplished a number of firsts. He's the first Armenian immigrant to attain the federal bench.
