Azerbaijan Will Definitely Free Occupied Land

I wonder what would happen if Armenia makes such repeated threats as Azerbaijan does. They are making war threats for some times now, even doubling their defense budget and planning to equal it to Armenias whole budget, and there is no one that is saying anything about it. North Korea start its nuclear program, that is even not sure is about making bombs, and everyone watch it closely; Azerbaijan double its defense budget and makes such repeated threats, and everyone ignore them. This only shows that Azerbaijan hasen't changed a bit(why would we be surprised, since just recently, they had in "their" package a garanty of safety for Armenians, as something they will agree. One imagine, if Canada was to sign new documents with the Natives, saying, OK, do that, I we will agree to not kill you; as if safet should be bargened). I guess petrol excuse everything. I wonder what would happen the day petrol reserves are out. I want to be alive to witness that. :)

AZERBAIJAN WILL DEFINITELY FREE OCCUPIED LAND -DEFENSE MINISTER

Assa-Irada, Azerbaijan

Oct 12 2005

Baku, October 11, AssA-Irada

Azerbaijan is firm on liberating its territories from under Armenian

occupation, Minister for Defense Safar Abiyev has said.

"Armenia is unwilling to withdraw from our land. Azerbaijan will

definitely free its territories", Abiyev said in a meeting with

Dimitros Panagiotu, deputy chief of staff of NATO's United Forces

Command in Neapol, on Tuesday.

Abiyev noted that the country has been actively involved in NATO's

Partnership for Peace program since 1994. Panagiotu's visit will give

a further impetus to its cooperation with the alliance, he said.

The parties also discussed strengthening Azerbaijan's integration

into NATO and the military-political situation in the South Caucasus

region.*

50 years of selling oil is alot of money. we shouldn't be ignorant. we should get concerned and take steps now.

50years??? bring it down to 15+5(after Kazakstan starts to use the pipeline).

Beside, the people of azerbaijan are hungry. They go to Turkey and Russia to make their living. The oil money goes to support only the Aliyev family and their friends.

Food Aid For 130,000 Azerbaijanis Faces Shut Down

Thursday, 20 October 2005, 5:57 pm

Press Release: United Nations

UN Food Aid For 130,000 Azerbaijanis Faces Shut Down Due To Funding Shortfall

New York, Oct 18 2005

Without immediate help from international donors, food assistance to 130,000 Azerbaijanis displaced by the Nagorno-Artsax conflict with Armenia could come to a complete halt in just three weeks time, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) warned today.

“For this to happen just before the onset of the harsh winter and during the holy month of Ramadan would be a severe blow to the displaced population, who are predominantly Muslim. In fact, it would be disastrous,” WFP’s Regional Director for the Middle East, Central Asia and Eastern Europe, Amir Abdulla, said of the $4 million – or 16 per cent – funding shortfall.

“Unless we can get enough resources right now, we will have no choice but to stop food assistance schemes at the beginning on November,” he added. Mr. Abdulla expressed hope that the international community would step in with funding for what he described as “desperately needed relief food aid” and added that further assistance from the Azerbaijan Government would be most welcome.

Since 1994, WFP has been pivotal in helping hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis displaced by the armed conflict over Nagorno-Artsax. More than 600,000 Azerbaijanis fled the region to other parts of Azerbaijan and are now spread across western, central and eastern parts of the country with extremely limited opportunities for employment.

“Seventy per cent of WFP’s beneficiaries are women and children and they are extremely food insecure,” WFP Country Director Rahman Chowdhury said. “Any discontinuation of food assistance will seriously affect their health and nutritional well being.”

If the situation fails to improve, WFP’s school feeding programme, which covers 5,300 primary schoolchildren, will also come to a halt. Children regularly attending school receive a basket of take-home commodities.

“School enrolment and attendance has registered a marked improvement since the launch of the programme. The nutrition of these children has improved considerably in recent months. But all that could be lost if we do not continue this programme,” Mr. Chowdhury said.

NOVOSTI

UN food program calls for international help to feed Azerbaijanis

18:29 | 18/ 10/ 2005

GENEVA, October 18 (RIA Novosti,Yekaterina Andrianova) - The UN World Food Program (WFP) may end food assistance to Azerbaijan due to financial shortages, a regional WFP director said Tuesday, calling on the international community to provide $4 million to continue aid through the coming winter.

Amir Abdullah said the WFP had no other choice but to stop providing food assistance to 130,000 Azerbaijanis displaced by the military conflict with Armenia over the disputed region of Nagorno-Artsax in the early 1990s.

The WFP's food assistance program to Azerbaijan began in late 1993 and was supposed to continue until mid 2006. According to UN figures, 70% of the Azerbaijanis receiving WFP aid are women and children.

Abdullah said lack of funds would also force the WFP to abandon its school feeding project that serves 5,300 pupils in Azerbaijan's primary schools.

Azerbaijan has been making war rhetoric since they went down on their knees and begged us for a ceasefire back in 1994. They knew full well that their army was annihilated, and the road to Baku was wide open. The only obstacle in our path the last time was not the enemy, but President Levon Der Petrosyan.

The war rhetoric is meant for internal consumption. All that budget increase, and etc... is for "some reason" right ahead of the November elections. Armenia is a small country, to the west 70 million Turkey, and to the east 7 million Azerbaijan. If there was the slightest, AND I MEAN THE SLIGHTEST, conviction in Azerbaijan that they actually had a chance against the Armenians, they would not waste a single second. and that you can take to the bank and cash it.

During the Karabagh war, Azerbaidjanis have had bigger army, better equipment, American and Turkish military advisers, superiority in air and land, and last but not least the international community (for different reasons) in general was on their side (and still are)....and besides all of these they lost and if they attempt again they will lose again. Their military is so unefficient that renders no choice but to swollow the bitter pill of the defeat. They simply cannot win back Karabagh. The sooner they realize that the better.

It doesn't matter how much they spent in military equipment. Acctually the more they spend the better. At least their petro-dollars will be in a safe place. :) What matters is how you plan your spendings and what your military tactics are.

Armenians throughout centuries were always very efficient, brave and intelligent fighters. The only thing we're missing in life is supporting each other every and which way we possibly can. That's the only thing we as a nation can work on and hopefully to try and make it better. :)

Anahid, I like your rosy optimism. I wish I could feel similarly.

Maybe?

This may not be the proper thread to vent all this.

The going cliché, specially here in the NE, is; “Everybody talks about the weather but nobody will/can do about it”.

It seems nobody told us that the feudal era is over, that the era of the nakharars (hi Nakh!) is over. There have been four year wars, six wars, ten year wars, fifteen year wars (Artsakh), and even 100 years wars. Leave it to the Armenians to break that record with a Thousand Year War. As we speak a certain “king”, an alpha male from Antelias is touring America, in his turn marking his scent at every fire hydrant, shortly after another alpha male from Ejmiatsin did it. Some on this forum may think this “pilgrimage” may be more significant than going to Jerusalem. Do I sound irreverent? Do you want to know what “irreverent” means? Speaking of One Thousand Year War, have they not heard that since those days of “Yezan Namak/ox-express”, a postal system slower than the Pony Express are over, we now live in the era od instant messaging. Have they not heard that this is the age of “cyber-borders”, the age of “sans frontiers”, that spiritualism has no borders, that the reasons for creating a see of Kilikia and a see of Ejmiatsin is long past?

Everywhere they go they speak about “love and unity”. Where do they get their idea? Where have they learned their gospel? Is one preaching the message of Christ and the other that of anti-Christ? So much so that they sound like an empty barrel պարապ տակառ or in the words of the Apostle Paul;

1Cor.13

[1] Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Եթէ մարդոց ու հրէշտակներու լեզուները խոսիմ եւ սէր չունենամ ես ձայն տվող պղինձի պէս եղայ կամ հնչեցող ծնծղաներու պէս.

We need another Catholicos, or even one like another hole in the head, if their mission is to divide us further. Why do we need two catholicoi, or for that matter more than one president, if over two billion Catholics have only one, and we with less than two million faithful seem to need two? And while we’re at it, let’s have another catholicos or two, one for each diasporan community. No. Don‘t look at me. I don‘t even have a beard, maybe Sip, he has a budding beard, or better yet, Anahid Takuhi. She will serve both purposes, Catholicos and Queen. Maybe it is time our more beautiful members, our mothers and sisters took over our destiny as our male leaders who are still bent on marking their scents at every fire hydrant and tree have miserably failed us. If over 300,000,000 American s can rally around one flag, be it unicolor, bicolor or Tricolor, if over 300 million Americans can rally around one president, even if at times he/she may not be totally suited for the office, what is our problem?

I hear your point; but I don't know the answer really. I don't know initially why Echmiadzin and Antelias separated. Maybe they should get together and make it one? I don't know, maybe it's a better idea to do it?

Speaking of future generations for women to be the head of countries, perhaps in my daughter's generation, as I don't think Armenians are quite ready for that yet. You know Armenians are quite backwards about such things. I hear you though about making a lot of churches and two Gatoghigoses, it becomes confusing and too much!

Well said. Budget increase means Aliyev pocketing more money... this way he will also keep the opposition quiet.

What is the connotation about beard or not? Anyhow, I don't belong to anyone but myself. I love people in general and life itself, and I love to help people if I can be of any help, and why not? Here in Holland, mostly all Dutch people is from Armenian side. Nobody cares about both countries that's true. But the oil rigs are good for us. Now we pay € 1,43 for each liter Euro 95 in Esso pump station. Before the Iraq war it was € 1,10 per liter.

When the Baku Ceyhan will be active, then we hope that it waill reduce maybe 10 or 15 cent per liter. The Azeri oil production is about 1 million drums per day. After rebuilding the oil rigs, than the Azeri's will have more efficient oil production and may it will grow for 1,5 million drums per day. And if Armenia becomes friends with Azerbaijan, then Armenia will get cheap oil too and the Turkish isolation will be raised. I think that, it is my opinion.

About the Azeri military, we all know nothing about it. It is kept secret.

The "Azeri" oil is enough to produce Vaseline for the English faggots to lubricate their rears to better accommodate the Turkish coke.

It's not enough to fill the pipeline.

The other day I read it had difficulty climbing the Georgian mountains and cum out the other side.

Impotent pipeline!

Without the push from Kazakhstani oil the "Azeri" Vaseline oil is just good for that.

The West is more concerned about driving Russia out of the region. That's why they turn a blind eye to "Azeri" atrocities in Sumgait, Baku, Gandzak, etc., and the protests of the Armenians concerning the destruction of Christian heritage falls on deaf ears of the Christ killer, Zionist, Turk sucking West.

Hellektor, one of the reasons this pipeline was created was to facilitate getting Azeri oil to Israel. You see the pipeline goes through Georgia and terminates at the MEDITERRANEAN port of Ceyhan in southern Turkey, and from there oil barges cross the Meditteranean to the MEDITERRANEAN port of Haifa (in so called "Israel") and some will go through the Suez Canal as well and end up in "Israel"'s other port, Eilat, on the Red Sea.

ok...for the oil...

it wont run out in 50 years...id give it 100 or more...

i mean world wide of course...there are resent flows of oil here in canada. (alberta, territories)

in the northern waters as well. we just didnt start retreiving it yet because of the middle east.

already american companies are going around our territorial waters to begin pumping...

now for artsakh....

they had russian supplying, they had an army, they had more men then us, they had air superiority, land superiroity.

but we still beat them. not because we were helped by some other countrey!

no. because of our armenian spirit!

we won because we had a reason to fight! we had a reason to win!

we knew why we were fighting and that gave us courage!

that is something azeris can NEVER take from us!

and if they try again they will only be pushed back again.

the first time artsakh was on its own...supposedly armenia didnt help but they airlifted supplies and everything.

but this time it is sure that armenia will help and our army is strong and our soldiers are strong!

my brother came back from armenia yesterday...he was on a humanitarian aid mission or wtv...he went with a group called AGBU.

he said he kept seing armenian convoys going by...he waved at the soldiers lol he was proud.

he braught me back a huge armenian flag that i requested.

i may be fifteen but as soon as i reach the age, if the azeris come again...il be the first one on the line!

so bring it on azerbaijan

this is why azerbaijan can not defeat us!

we are the greatest warriors in the world!

with only two hundred men we held off 1000 turkish finely trained soldiers at van

at sartarabad we held off thousands of turks tryign to cross the river!
