  1. Yes Sip - wee see that (looks like fun BTW - you'll have to see me drive (in LA) sometime - such thrills are not possible out on the slickrock - I'll guarantee that... As for WRX being gay/being marketed to gays - etc etc...whats the big deal? Gays are human justr like everyone else - I don't see them as a seperate specieis (or even as a "them" ...even though I am not one of "them" etc) - but no problem - I've been mistaken as "gay" before - I used to live in Hollywood BTW - and I don't dress to other's conventions - but as I wish to... And I wasn't really wearing anything kinky - well at least not that time - just colorful...how am I supposed to know that purple & yellow are "gay" colors? etc LOL...It was a convertable full of gals that started calling me all sorts of names too - and I chased them down (I was on foot) and offered to proove their allegations untrue...another time I was in the same area of Hollywood (also on foot) and needed to pee real bad...so I stepped into this bar...(most of the rest is blocked from my memory...only that there was no physical contact - LOL)...anyway... Accel - we are planning to test drive a WRX this weekend BTW. No Sti - too bad - just the standard. I've been trying to convince/sell the wife on the safety of the car. (There is supposed to be snow on the ground...!)
  2. Azat - your band is very funny - but a couple of things. First - why is my picture listed by Sips entry? Also - you forgot some key members (I'll leave you to find appropriate icons): MJ - the Bouncer (hes certainly bounced is share right out of here...) Hagarag - the groupie (will go to any length [with any one] in order to obtain a back stage pass) Ali Surat - Some guy from a different group who hangs out with us Tigrannes - the comedy act who opens the show for us - insists on telling jokes in Armenian even though he barely knows the language - wonders why crowd never laughs Gamavor - he dropped out of the group Stormy - not sure how she got in the group or whose instrument she is playing Boghos - our South American "connection" Chrstine/axel/sasun/bev hills 90210 etc - hippy/love child groupies, one bong hit too many types... Bellthecat - complaints, also stage/set designer Ara Balozian - group guru (largely ignored) Sip - publicity, stupid pet tricks Garo - songwriter (without whom there would be no group) Accelerated - Known for being "down under" - most notably flat out on the floor under the table EZ - name says it all (another groupie BTW) nairi - well she's obviously with me...I am the guitar player! duh And hyebruin - besides being our lead singer she will show us how babies are made...

  5. So highflyer - what would you have us do - go back to living the pastoral life - rejecting scinetific advancement - etc. As apealing as this might be - I don't think that this is reality. these comments as well as some thinking I have been doing concerning claims made on the Faith-God-Atheism thread make me wonder about the claim that without God(s) what have we to live for - etc - with the claim being that there is nothing to live for without...etc - In fact I feel the opposite. This claim - with "God" all powerful/all knowing - with this concept (basically) of predestination - I find very distasteful (and very unlikely...) - however with nothing but possibilities before us - the future for us to make - etc - I find this a very exciting concept - but one that implies much more responsibility and caring for our environment and our future - the future of reality as we know it. It is up to us what we achieve and how we care for what is available for our use. I think there can be different interpretations to the Icarus story - BTW...

No vava - you did well - sorry to complain...
  7. takavor - As far as I'm concerned you have fully prooved my point.
  8. quote:Originally posted by takavor:1) Until recently, who would have possibly thought, that Armenia could in any way, ever be on the US list of terrorist countries? Nobody. So, very low probability doesn't mean something is not possible. Yeah, but...and are you sure that Armenia is on such a list? quote:Originally posted by takavor:2) In 1993, Turkey was preparing an invasion, although, at the same time is was applying to join EU as member. So, it's the worry of looking bad that's gonna stop them. Only a strong Armenian military can. 93 was sabre rattling at best - there was no serious threat (and what else really do the Turks know how to do). And if so - it was not - nor likely will it ever be - any Armenian army that will make any difference. Armenia will never be able to match Turkey in any conventional war type of showdown. And I don't think Armenia will ever be able to face up to Turkey directly militarily - but - if there were to be such a confrontation - at some point in the future - Armenia'a military leaders (planners) would do well to try to think about war in a context of other then with armies - they should not be wedded to 20th century concepts... quote:Originally posted by takavor:3) Russia has never proved to be reliable ally. As you know, Russian Bolcheviks GAVE our land (Kars) to Turks. They didn't give Georgia's land or Azerbaidjan's land, they gave OUR land. So, when shit comes, we'll be alone. And we better be ready for it. Perhaps true - but in the current situation Armenia has no other choice. It is basically unrealistic to asume that Armenia will ever pose any real threat to Turkey or that it could ever defend itself against Turkey. quote:Originally posted by takavor:As you see, I'm not inventing things, and I believe my analysis should be given a closer look. Well its bvious that again Turkey has the West over the proverbial barrel (and again it needn't be but for Western shortsightedness..) - and this cannot be good for Armenia. As for all the rest - well yes I'm certain Turkey has certain designs on Northern Iraq...and who knows what might come to pass...but I still believe you are crfossing into the realms of paranoia...and you really don't consider your statements as a result of any really analysis - do you? Do you? [ February 01, 2003, 04:10 PM: Message edited by: THOTH ]
  9. Just now - crashed on descent. Very sad. A loss for all people - not just the US... http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/space/02/01/s...mbia/index.html
  10. takavor - Don't be so consipiracy theoretical about the situation. there is plenty legitimate to worry abut without thinking up such implausible scenarios. However, if I were Armenia I would make sure I had a very elite special forces unit (Russians could train such) that would be prepared for "contingencies". Besides the potential Turkish threat - that I see as unlikely due to international constraints (again - can you spell R u s s i a n s) - I don't see any potential conflict involving Armenia where some appropriate sabotage and assasination wouldn't basically take care of the entire problem (if it aver comes to this) - regardless....So I suggest concentration on more domestic relevant issues...(that by far pose the greater threat to the perpetuation of the Armenian nation)...

    Women Drivers

Look here Razors Edge - you are obviously here for no good purpose but to attempt to be witty (to yourself) - well you have failed - the joke is you. You must enjoy that we laugh at you and (correctly) think you stupid. Look - we are OK with gay men here - no problem - not an issue - its gay men like you who hate women so - you have no place here. Were you teased by gals growing up? Was it just because of your repulsive looks or was it only after you opened your mouth? Please do yourself and us a favor and take yourself and your inferiority complexes, your KY jelly and your batteries, and whatever other weird thing you need to get off on and take a big hike. Go to somewhere where you might be appreciated. I can't at the moment think of where that might possibly be - abnd I can imagine that you don't get out much - but maybe you can save up and get that sex change operation or enlargement procedure or whatever it is you need to boost your self confidence. I pity you - I really do. So utterly without a clue. But I must say - you are so very far removed from being a mature, intelligent human being that I fail to understand where you get off putting down others in any way. Are you Turkish BTW? Just curious...
  14. Well Sasun - I'm glad to have been of help. These stories of Jeshu in India and such are from E C Prophet - Lost Years of Jesus. I quite enjoyed the concept - though the execution of the book left me lacking. Also E C Prophet and the Church Universal and triumphant are not really good people. The reluctant messenger folks seem "mostly harmless" - much like Sri Chimnoy IMO - but perhaps without the inate wisdom... [ January 30, 2003, 06:49 PM: Message edited by: THOTH ]

  16. quote:Originally posted by nairi:I was thinking age difference. How much older? 5 years, 10 years, your mother's age? If the latter, then I think your problem speaks for itself. If not, then enjoy yourself! LOL - well said...and I agree... When I was your age Ara I too was attracted to older women. Not sure about the age range (but no spinster types nor was it a "momma" thing as Nairi implies). I just didn't have the patience for the "giggly" stage & such. It was just a maturity factor. I found somewhat older gals to be a bit more strightforward & well (to me) normal. Also what dl says is (very) true. Many of the gals I used to date were quite a bit more experienced then I was and taught me an incredible amount! - set me off on the right path as it were - "lessons" that stick with me to this day. I can't say enough for these types of experiences! LOL I had a very long time g/f who was about 6-7 years older then at various times I and I dated gals 3, 5 and 15! (I was about 25 and she was around 40...) years older then I was - also some who were a few years younger as well. My wife is a few years older then me (but not by much) - though she looks super/very young for her age! (hint - as did/does her mom - an important factor when making these choices - if that matters much to you...) As I get older I am definatly finding I'm attracted (at least visually!, though I supose also in concept) to younger women (not surprising I don't think...)

    Religious beliefs?

Interesting. Even though at times I do consider myself to be a Daoist...I'm certainly not a Buddhist/Daoist and if anyone is Athothist it must be me - eh? The Armenian identity question is an interesting one as well. Somehow I feel that there should be a few more choices...but I'm just a bit too buzzed (wine) & tired to articulate them.
  18. quote:Originally posted by Accelerated: Liberty/legacy - definatly not my stlye! LOL. I like small nimble cars. And I already have my (disguised) fuddy duddy mobile - Mazda Millenia S (with a Supercharger and very nice multi-link suspension). Even the wife agrees that she wants something different. (I think she has pretty much - though not fully - accepted the fact that this (Sti) IS THE CAR! LOL

Sip - no problem - glad to be of help (as always) Azat - yeah - 'bout sums it up. ! Accel - it is recommended - I must say. Actually - during that time - with that particualr gal - not an unusual occurence at all - she had a car thing in general...I just think it was a matter of timing - with PCH being very curvy along the ocean - my concentration level was made zero...and I just couldn't maintain...made a good recovery though...and it was quite exciting - she wasn't particualry happy...but was randy enough by the time we got home... She loved my (fast/aggressive) driving and loved to tease me (& more) when I was driving in traffic & such. She also was one for activities while stationary. Once, afer a (late) party she just couldn't wait to get home (very exitable gal...and studious too - loved lists...). It was a bit disconcerting/embarrassing when she kept pressing her foot down on the horn - other people who were comming out of the party were taking a bit of notice! I swore next time - passenger (or back) seat...

quote:Originally posted by Sip: quote:Originally posted by vava: And what exactly happens at frat parties, Sip? Just ask Hagarag (or look a few posts above) Welcome BACK! My impression for the day: When driving on pacific coast highway on a beautiful day like this, try to keep at least one eye on the car in front of you. Thanks to a very well proportioned blond in her mid thirties roller-blading by the beach, I almost made pancake out of a toyota in front of me! Fortunately, I was able to come to a halt about 3 inches short of the rear bumper of that car when it suddenly decided to stop <img border="0" alt="[eek]" title="" src="smilies/eek.gif" /> Wow that was close. But you can't really blame a guy can you? Her body was swinging to one side while parts of her upper body were going the other way while she was roller blading. Man, it's going to be VERY hard leaving Southern Cali (hope I don't have to but who knows). Oh, for those not living here, it was 82 degrees in our backyard today which translates to I guess 28C ... yes it is mid January Yeah - I can remember - lived in LA for 5 years. This reminds me of an incident where I swerved out of control and almost off the edge of the PCH into the ocean...luckily I was able to fishtale around a bit before comming to a stop on the shoulder...it concerned a female (very good friend of mine! LOL) - like in your incident (of course) - however in a more direct manner - she was very intent on getting some results from my list - very intent....you could say that she was studying it hard - very hard...and when she suceeded (literally)...well, I sort of lost it in more ways then one...understandable as you might imagine...unintended thrills just driving down the road - I agree - its what SoCal is all about! LOL
  21. Accel - yeah - but its not quite that bad. I've been talking up this car for a while now - but the wife was most interested in the Wagon (me too actually). I don't need all the boy racer stuff - but I don't mind it per se - but would rrather be a bit more subtle/unobtrusive...so it goes. At worst we will end up withthe standard WRX in wagon form...but considering how awesome the STi is - if we go this way - I will be crying the blues for a long time to come... Not sure about Turbo timer & what not. i imagine I will be very content to drive it stock...at least for a few weeks....they want you to keep the revs & speed down the first few though don't they? Oh, and yeah again - blue..I like (but she already has nixed the idea of gold wheels...LOL - though she likes the blue...) [ January 29, 2003, 08:43 PM: Message edited by: THOTH ]
  22. Wow Mosjan! - is the Mustang yours? Awesome! (Wheels aren't stock however - though look very sharp). I'll have to post pics of my 64 1/2 drop top sometime. Its totally unrestored....but you certainly wouldn't know it by looking at it. I've had quite a few non-believers - ad I'm talking serious Mustang enthusiasts - they just don't believe that an old unrestored Stang could look so good. Runs great too - only 40,000 miles on it! When I got it in 1984 it had about 30,000. Have you seen pics of the proto 2005? Awesome - very retro - and they are talking a 400hp engine (probably for the Cobra)...my next car, after...perhaps...I want! LOL
  23. Yes - exhaust mods make some sense - but doubt the wife will go for it - you see i am convincing her that this is a cute small car that she would also like to drive - LOL! I've heard $30K for the US STi - but I woldn't be surprised if it is up to $32K (smart move clearly trumping the EVO...) I am ready to plop down my deposit & get on the list regardless - I see this as my (our!) next car and I can't wait! Still, she wants to look at pics and test drive a normal WRX. I've had a hard time convincing her that no we can't check one out now and no we can't wait until they come out or we won't get one. This car is going to be mega hot. If we don't end up with one I'm going to be crying every time I see (I mean I pass! ...nothing will change there...LOL) one going down the road...
