Anoushik
(I noticed this discussion yesterday but had no time to respond.) First of all, I'd like to say thank you to the creators of Hyeforum! It's the best thing that has happened to me on the internet. I find such great joy to see intelligent Armenians interact with each other - it's just something that I so desperately crave. Mosjan, thank you; even though I mostly criticize today's Armenian culture I am happy that I have the opportunity to do so in a place where we share similar backgrounds and no matter what seem to understand each other. For that I'm very grateful to Hyeforum. The only comment I'd like to make regarding this "problem" is that I notice how some of the members are very insecure about their opinions and are almost apologetic if they hold somewhat different views from other members. In a way, this doubt is typical of Armenians, but I just don't understand why in this day and age, online, when one can remain anonymous, we still have this complex of expressing our thoughts. If you notice, most members choose to participate in very neutral threads and in controversial threads they just state that we shouldn't even discuss such matter since everyone has their own views. WHY??? Isn't this a discussion place? It's this insecurity that leads some members to just keep on creating one junk thread after the other, like trash jokes, since they think their true character won't be revealed. Yeah, I'd like to know everything, where possible. As for the disagreements part, it's the story of my life...... <_< Thanks for the clarification MosJan -- I just thought you were gonna put all of us on moderation (talk while you could or something along those lines lol) This is a great forum, and as long as we practice moderation (not the moderation by mods!!! lol) it'll be a great place to be on, and I think the difference in opinions is something I like, because not all of us will agree on one thing, and it's always good to hear others' views and learn from them where applicable!! DominO123
TB, I agree fully with most of what you said, exept the limit of postings, some may post a lot but will post when they have something to say. The restriction should be imposed when the mods find that some members are not contributing to the board... and it should be directed at those members until there is an improvement in the quality of their postings. The mods should as well turn on zero tolerance for few weeks... to my surprise after 2 weeks out, I found the genocide section full load of nonesense threads that in their worthlessness won't even find a place in the "others" section. Oh and TB, I want you to know that I read everything you write, if you feel that it is worthless for you to post because most won't read them, know that I do read you, and it is always a pleasure to read your posts. bellthecat
People that constantly change their avatar picture annoy me. The whole point of having such a picture is that it acts as a sort of visual symbol for that person, and it is easier to recognise and remember than a name. Yet some seem to want to change theirs weekly!

Yeah Sev Marde...don't worry about it...its cool (and your entirely correct)...and lots of things annoy Steve..nearly everything does really - its just him - Mr negative - if there ever was one...so carry on...and by all means go right ahead and continue to annoy Steve...which means just exist...because that alone is annoying to Steve no doubt...so i wouldn't worry about it much... Twilight Bark
TB, I agree fully with most of what you said, exept the limit of postings, some may post a lot but will post when they have something to say. The restriction should be imposed when the mods find that some members are not contributing to the board... and it should be directed at those members until there is an improvement in the quality of their postings. My thought was that a universal limit would make people think a bit before posting, including those that have valuable things to say. It is hard to come up with more than three well thought-out articles a day. And perhaps exceptions could be made for exceptionally prodigious contributors (i.e. a positive "privilege", rather than a "punishment" as the mode of keeping up the level). Such a limit would basically eliminate the chit-chat, for which a "chat" feature exists already. Why anyone would want a permanent public record of that chitchat is something that challenges my limited cognitive abilities. Accelerated
"Chopper" - wasn't he a crazy Australian gangster or sumthin? yeah - and crazy enough that they made a successful movie out of his story and he has written a number of books (including a best-seller) from his jailcell! Accelerated
I think another problem that has surfaced recently is the trend of pretty much every 'intelectual' discussion degenerating into veilled name calling - methinks a direct result of some forum members becoming full of themselves - I wont mention any names they know who they are.... They say stuff like: "I never expected you to understand", "yuo dont understand becuase you dont have the mental capacity" etc. - begs the question: if you dont think the other person can understrand what you are trying to say why do you reply? THOTH
Well Accel - just for the record - you asked me if I liked it - and i said not really - but I never complained to anyone about it..and in fact its growing on me...but I'd never be such an ass as to demand you to keep it as such or to change it or what not...do whatever thrills you..i mean what do I care eh? And Extra..yeah OK - good for you...but do you really care about what Mr Grumpy thinks?..and I'm sure he'll find some other things to complain about reagarding something to do with you..he always does...
