Then I thought about it, do you think it's wrong to use someone else’s bandwidth? I'm thinking that in moderation it's an issue, I just felt uncomfortable with an inferior to my network user. Wellll, we had an office in the same building at MGM, except I was on the second floor and he was in the penthouse. You would know the days he was in the office(once a month or so) because all the women had errands to run on the 5th floor. He really is one of the nicest guys in the world. Harut, you are on a roll with your inspirational writing. Have you been taking lessons from Tony Robbins by any chance? What was his book called? "How to be a Giant" or some crap like that. Well at least your writing is imaginative. See I don't think there is really an issue with someone using your bandwidth, and if the authorities knock on your door you can certainly defend yourself by stating that someone else was using your bandwidth. But if you talk to them and they agree to let you use it, then it's ok. In general, I don't think it's ok to use anything else that belongs to someone else without their permission. Basically, I am against tapping into your neighbors cable tv without their knowledge for example. The "it doesn't seem to hurt anyone" argument is not valid in such cases. It's a matter of right or wrong. Even if neigbhors do agree to share bandwidth, it may be against the contract with the service provider ... but now, many service providers actually encourage people to resell their bandwidth! ED Posted November 11, 2005 Report Share Posted November 11, 2005 I’m frustrated and need some advice For past 6 months my machine is been running slower and slower, then I discovered I had some corrupted files or malicious spy files in it, so I bought spy ware doctor and downloaded Microsoft antispyware program also, the problem I’m having is both are able to catch those spy ware files and remove them but after few hours they are back once I run the antispy again The question I want to ask, is there any other program or way that permanently deletes those files or I have to do a clean install again??? Finally, ditch Internet Explorer and use Firefox, that'll make you less susceptible to spyware. All of these measures can help, but if you or members of your family download and install little search utilities, smilies for your email etc. etc. etc., than you'll just get them back all over again. Anyone know how i could fix this? Thanks. I wonder if you're referring to 'alt' tags - Internet Explorer displays these tags in a yellow 'tooltip' type of popup. Alt tags are additional tags that are used in html to identify/clarify certain images, links etc. My understanding is that 'alt' tags are not supposed to be treated as tooltips (according to the W3C specificiations. vava Posted November 18, 2005 Report Share Posted November 18, 2005 I found this at gadgetopia.com: The ALT tag for images is NOT supposed to produce a little tooltip when you mouseover an image, according to the HTML spec. This is supposed to be the job of the TITLE tag. Firefox has never done this for ALT tags, correctly obeying the spec. This always confused me, because some images would pop a tooltip and others wouldn’t. Apparently the ones that did also had a TITLE tag, unbeknowst to me. However, IE has always done it for the ALT tag too, which actually seems reasonable to me. Emphasis in bold is mine - based on the above, probably the site you're looking at has some empty tags with respect to the images and/or links, hence you're getting an empty tooltip.
