Azat
last week I was invited to go to a Thanksgiving buffet at the Ritz in Pasadena. I could nto make it because of previous engagements. Today I was talking to a friend who told me that it was great but then I asked how much it was... Hold on to your socks. $72 + alcohol and tip and tax. Just a bit over 100 each. HOLY CRAP. I just about fell off my chair when I heard that it was 100 for a buffet. I think Sipan could direct you to some decent (Sip's term) buffets at under 11.99$ Should ask him.

Oh please, toughen up woman! Tons of heat from the cars, steam from the peanut stands and sewers, body heat from millions of tourists (and that's not necessarily a good thing), cigarette smoke, cigar smoke and the list goes on. I'd say New Jersey is better, even though there's more culture in New York. What do they say? You have to take New york "the good with the bad". At least some time ago they cleaned up 42nd street real well and now that area is looking better.

Eloren
Winter is only a few days away.. I'm wearing a Tshirt, it's sunny and around 25-30 degrees (celsius).. I hate this country.. I want snow, I want cold, I want hot wine, I want a Christmas feeling, people smiling... Not a prayer call every few hours from that bloody mosque in front of my room! Never heard of that one before. It's a nice 14F (-10C) outside right now but it feels like 8F (-13C) with the slight 8 MPH NW breeze ... it's definitely an improvement from a few days ago when it was -16C with the -20C Windchill. Eloren
Never heard of hot wine? (Vin chaud) You should go to East of France during Winter, there they make the best Vin Chaud over there Basically it's Red wine with some spice (like cinnamon or other things), some brandy (cognac) that you boil and drink hot VERY tasty and keeps you warm during winter Edited December 3, 2005 by Eloren

vava
In quebec most people call it Caribou - it's warm wine spiked with Vodka, apples, cinnamon, maple sugar & otehr spices. Some folks simply refer to it as grog. Warms your soul....
