For example, Im from DownUnder, and the US troops arent my troops. In fact only yesterday me and coupe of buddies were down at the local computer multiplayer gaming/internet cafe joint playing Desert Combat Alpha. A highly realistic wargame featuring the Iraqi Army (Opposition) and US Marines (Coalition).....to cut a long story short.... several times I got great pleasure out of blowing US Abrams to pieces and proceeding to massacre the following hapless US Marine infantry in my Soviet made T-72, with my buddy sitting on the turret machinegun.....etc ....oh and welcome to the forum I don't think I get your humour dude.... Marro Posted August 29, 2003 Report Share Posted August 29, 2003 Accelerated,,,i understand that you are from down under and you don't understand the true meaning of our troops..but this is a little insight from my view....We have men and women from all over the united states defending those who want freedom from hard times and just overall dictatorship...well as i see..we are the first, that people call on for help everytime something gets out of hand...and yes we are the first for peace...but, we are also the first to jump in and help out whenever needed...and with that being said you can play all your games in the world..but until you put on a uniform you should judge other for something that they are trained to do and trained with pride. So that to prevent the explanations in the realm of "common enemy," you can just emphasize the fact of civilian Russians lving in Amrenia and considering it their homeland, and as a result volunteering in the Armenian paramilitery in 1990. I also understand your heartache: your husband is in Iraq risking his life. But that is part of being a member of the armed forces, so its not unexpected. Anyhow, I have stopped myself being drawn into debates on political issues a while back (its a waste of time and energy), so thats all Im going to say on this matter.
