Accelerated
Hey Winston, check out this link for a review of the Volvo V70R - the engine is the same as in the one you wanna get....
THOTH
Thanks for the review - thoguh this isn't the cat I'm interested in. I alos think the review might be somewhat biased - though certain elements are fairly acurate (still have not test drove that particualr car - was suppoesd to on Saturday but took out the 330i instead).  The car I'm interested in is th S40. And this is a completely different beast. Its underpinnings are the next gen Ford fucus 3 from Europe - same as the new Mazda 3. Don't laugh - its an awesome platform and totally un-Volvo. Comparo tests have it beating out the Audi A4 and being comperable to the BMW 330 (and better then the AWD 330)...and it has AWD. Here are some reviews of the S40 (note not all are of the hopped up T5 AWD version that I'm planning to get) http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/?http://www.a...ry.php?id=44028 http://www.edmunds.com/future/2005/volvo/s...ws.leftbanner.1 http://www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?...0&sid=183&n=157 http://www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?article=6667 http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?por...t_code=08839262 and perhaps the best review - certainly most comprehensive -  http://www.channel4.co.uk/apps26/4car/jsp/..._2&reviewid=833   Here is the official US site for the S40...(pretty cool) http://www.allnews40.com/ Its going to be a fine car - believe me - a true 3 series competitor IMO...and unlike any Volvo ever made before... Accelerated
http://carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/content/news/2004WRXWR101b.jpg SUBARU UNLEASHES FASTEST EVER WRX  Subaru has unleashed its fastest, most powerful Impreza ever in celebration of Petter Solberg's World Rally Championship win in 2003. The 500 limited edition Impreza WRX STi WR1, which packs a 240kW punch and is capable of sprinting from rest to 100kmh in just 4.3 seconds, is at this stage only destined for UK showrooms.  The Prodrive-developed prototype was first revealed at a motorsport show in January, and has received factory production approval. Prodrive says most of the extra power and torque come from engine control unit revisions, a high flow catalyst and sports silencer.  Suspension modifications have been made to handle the extra performance, including a 25mm lower ride height and uprated springs and shocks. Like the STi, the WR1 features a driver-controlled centre differential to adjust drive to each axle. It also gets the STi's Brembo brakes and six speed gearbox.  Prodrive quotes phenomenal performance figures for the WR1, which packs 21 percent more power and 22 percent more torque than the STi. For instance it covers the quarter mile in 12.8 seconds, has a top speed of 250kmh, and is nearly a second quicker from 80kmh to 110kmh. THats 240kW from the 2Ltr engine btw , not the US-spec 2.5! THOTH
I think the new stang looks awesome....and the cobra (and I've heard eventual Shelby) versions should be something...still nothign quite beats the original (which I own BTW! - 64 1/2 289 4 barrel convertable in mint condition - 51,000 miles and totally unrestored (but practically looking like it just rolled off the showroom floor!) - my baby certainly. And in fact it is one of the very first 289 convertables to come off the assembly line - all documented and such...I even have the equipment sheet that was on the window when new and the cancelled check used to pay for the car! And I'd ove to have one of the new models (Cobra or Shelby version of course to pair with it! (doubt that it will happen though - not my wife's cup of tea - and besides we're planning to pick up a car in Europe this summer... Thanks for the pic though accel - I think the new stangs look hot from any angle (having seen one in person already!) DominO123
how in hell do those tires on the bottom hold up? should they not pop? I don't think that picture is gueniune, I believe it has been rotated a little bit.
Sip
As far as I know, the picture is real but I didn't take it myself so I am not 100% sure. Those tires can take a lot of abuse ... trust me, I know  Here's something I found very funny! $50,000 H2 gets stuck in parking lot, and is pulled free by a jeep. gamavor
I never understood why people buy a pick up truck and never carry stuff in it? I asked a friend who had one, he said he likes to be independent in case he has to move. Sounds like a stupid explanation... Most of the time it means small pennis! Accelerated
Most of the time it means small pennis! Indeed. Gamavor has learnt this lesson well. {Big car = small willie} - spread the message!

Sip
To those of you dissing pickup trucks, here's a simple number to keep in mind:Â 2005 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab 2WD pickup ~$20K MSRPÂ 2004 BMW 5 series ~$40-$60K MSRP (~3x times as much) 2005 Audi S4 ~$46K-$55K (~2 times as much)Â I don't understand how a cheap economical pickup truck that does in fact have some utility is a sign of a little penis while all these gas guzzling ultra luxury and sports cars that have been around for much longer than the SUV are accepted as ok? Accelerated
Sip dont act stupid, Im not a fan of the Euro luxos you have mentioned and I believe a stock WRX is not too much more expensive than a pick-up truck. True enough, the latter has more utility while a WRX granted is not for everyone but for people who actually ENJOY the driving experience. I got a ride in a mates brand new stock WRX last night (hadnt been in a Rex for years!!) and there seriously arnt many things more addictive than that 'turbo-rush' and the sound of the boxer-four.
