Recent encounter with a Turk online

About a week ago while I was playing chess a Turk whos name was talaatpassa sent me a message saying yes we did kill 1.5 millions Armenians. He found out I was Armenian cuz my sn on the chess program was Echmiadzin. In my mind I was like wow I guess there are Turks who recognize what they have done. So then he sent a message saying there is 2 million left for us to finish. He said all Ermenis are enemies of the Turkish State and that in about 10 years Turks will freely walk into Yerevan because there will be no one living there. At last he said 1 million more women will be raped and become Turkish and that will be the end of Armenia.

With all due respect , if you would like to see what an online abuse is , then may I suggest that you login to this very web site's chat room with a Turkish name such as mehmet or hasan.

I was shock to see that almost all the armenians that I wanted to have a conversation told me to f. off !!

For that very reason I have stopped all my efforts to commmunicate with an armenian.

After all how much insult one can take ?

Yes most armenians that i have spoken to over last 4-5 months were overvelmingly hostile & racist. Some of them indeed suggested that the year 2014 is the year of REVENGE for Armenians (whatever that maybe).

Few Armenians that I have spoken to were also civilized & knew how to conduct a conversation with someone whom they never met.

You mean to say that your father have forbidden you to speak to ANY TURK ?

Does that remind you of South Africa & Apartheid ?

Or

Does it feel like southern Alabama ? You are the "WHITES" & Turks are "BLACKS" ?

From where I am standing - it looks like a racist , walks & talks like a racist and certainly feels like being treated with hate & racist attitude.

Am I obliged to tell my own 2 daughters that they should not trust any armenian because they have a turkish father (non-turkish wife)?

To Kazza

Yes you are correct , both sides are engaged in it. If you know a way to stop it happening , I would be glad to listen.

I think that is the parents decision if they want their daughter or son to engage in activites with a Turk. In the future I would not allow my daughter to talk to a Turk. That is how I feel and my decision as a parent even though I'm not one. Until Turkey recognizes the Armenian Genocide every Armenian in this world will be skeptical when talking to a Turk.

So the Hell what??? What have Turks done to us throughout history? Blockades, massacres, rape, occupation, assimilation, Genocide. So sorry if we're not open to being friendly- don't blame us for our feelings.

Hmmm , so it's settled then .

It's now officially acceptable to hate the Turk & to perpetuate a racist indoctrination of young generation of armenians.

What a perfect way to treat a human being with a bias & prejudice ;

as long long as the people you hate so deeply are Turks , it's all OK and acceptable.

p.s Dubya refused to use the G word.

So did Clinton & so did Reagan.

Even if you have an armenian origin president in the office i doubt very much he/she would easily reverse the situation.

Guys, Art and Richard,

please behave nicely to a visitor. Where is the well known Armenian hospitality?

There are thousands of yards that seperate us from the Turks, but after all we are all human beings and we should treat each other

with dignity and class.

Please remember that a new mistake/crime does not correct another older mistake!

Circacian man, "khosh geldin" (welcome) to our site.

We are eager to correspond with you in a friendly manner, provided everybody behaves in a civilised manner!

Of all the days of the year , you chose the wrong day to try make friends with Armenians!

It is a sad day for us, but it becomes worse if educated and civilised persons like you , continue refusing to accept the dirty past of Turkey.

Please feel free to talk on any subject. I invite you to visit also the History Section and read the "us vs them" topic. We are having some good discussions with a Turkish guy. You are invited to post your ideas and points also!

it's kinda funny how you capitalize 'Turkish', but not 'Armenian'. Simple things like that go a loooong ways if you want respect.

I wish I had the answer to that, but I don't. I don't know of a way to stop a mass of people from doing anything. What I can say Is this new generation of armenians and turks, to just get on and talk to each other as normal! We are all human beings, you cant blame every single person form a nationality for some thing their government has done before many of them were born!. Besides which nations warred against other nations for centuries and centuries, so wars dont really come into things. I wish that could happen for all but I think many armenians cant move on and begin to do do this until people accept(yes. that's right,) the G word. There is still greif and pain, and many feel that will not be lifted until the genocide is accepted as a genocide.

After all, other nations committed genodies against other nations and their are still waiting for the resolution.

In short, I dont think you can hate induviduals, but direct your anger at the people which are reponsible in the first place. I would like anyone If I thought they were a genuine nice person. However if anybody expresses any dislike for you becuse you are armenian, drop that person immediatley!

Dear Circassian,

No, it is not officially acceptable as evidenced by the state policy of the Republic of Armenia.

It is not OK to treat Turks with bias and prejudice. As we go, our young people, at least the overwhelming majority of them, will be exposed to a different outlook in life, and they will learn to conduct themselves better.

As it concerns to W. or his refusal or none refusal to use the G. word, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't change the facts, nor it has any implications one or another way, other than raising the awareness of the Turkish people.

And I agree with you that the American foreign policy doesn't depend on the ethnicity of the president, his partisan affiliation, etc. As you might know, we have had Armenian dynasties on the Bysantian throne, however they have destroyed Armenia, and made possible the Turkish invasion of the region, by the way.

In my view, the Genocide is not our problem. Whether the world recognizes it or not, doesn't make much difference (other than psychological) for us. However, it is the problem of the Turkish people and their vehicle for achieving respect for their Human Rights and liberties in Turkey. The recognition and the condemnation of the Armenian Genocide by the Turkish public, and I don't care about the Turkish government, is the step that Turkish society has to take for its own sake.

So that one can expect that others will respect Turkish people and treat them without prejudice or bias, one has to see that respect coming towards them from their own Turkish government, first. And the Turkish people have to be able to face the darkest chapters of their history, so that to elevate themselves from that heavy burden of their past.

To summarize, the road to the liberation of Turkish people passes through the recognition and condemnation of the Genocide of Armenians.

P.S. Since in an earlier instance you have been referred to as "Feliz," I would like to ask if you are the Feliz that I have met in another forum few months ago?

If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us,

do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die?

and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?

-- Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice

I beg to differ with some of your views.

Nevertheless i shall acknowledge your sincerity & your quest.

"Revenge" ?

Even the the most dishonest Turk can admit that the Revenge coming from Armenians is a laughing case.

With the exception of few and recorded (and punished) asala actions, as a whole and as a widespread policy, the Revenge is absent from the Armenians.

It is as though the word Revenge does not exist in the Armenian dictionary.

I am not claiming that we are a nation of angels, but nothing , absolutely nothing can compare to the widespread and animalistic behaviour of our long time neighbours!

My grandfather withnessed with his own eyes the burning of "Holy Mother Mary" 's church in Zeitun, full of women/children and elderly by the brave and loyal Turkish bandits and army personel.

He was on the opposite hill with other boys who had escaped captivity.

How can you describe acts like this one ?

How can you expect me to forget ?

Mind you that my grandfather never used the word 'Revenge'. Although he always wished to go back to his anscestoral lands.

Once he told my father "if we travel by plane from X to Y, can we see Zeitun from above. Can I see my town , my house ? "

Poor grandfather , he was indeed an angel...

God bless his soul and the millions lost....

I dare ask what would happened to my kind if what you are saying becomes reality.

Perhaps re-location or maybe conversion and thereof second class citizenship amongs the Armenian rulers of eastern anatolia.

:-)

Please , I rather die.
