  1. Thank you Martin. I think that the prayer of "Aravod Louso" was written by him! Aravod Louso,Arekagn Artar, Ar i louys tzakia Phoum@n i hore phial..............
  2. Spiritual prayer that soothes the 'storms' in our hearts. Martin jan, is there a way we can find the full biography of Nerses Sh. ?
  3. Although i hate to do that (he he he), I agree with many of Ali's postings. Not that much with the historical presentations , as much as with his line of thought about the infuence of religions on us. I think that Azad's poting has the following gap: The islam was 'created' in about 640 A.D. and at that time there was no Catholic Church as such. There was the Church of Rome, but not in the consept that we know it now. The formation of the Catholic Church can be attributed mainly to the 'SKHISM'=split of the Christian Church in 1045A.D. The split was between the Eastern and the Western Church. So basically the story or version of Azad is totally out of touch with reality of those times. Besides that if I am not mistakes at that time (around 600AD) the Italian peninsula was under heavy attack by the Goths.(ostrogoths or visigoths...) and the vandals. hence the Roman church was basically trying to survive the attacks and was begging for the help of its Eastern brothers , which never came. As to the consept of Dante, i have the notion that he claimed that good Christians will go to Heaven, while Jews and Moslems, nomatter how good or bad they are, they will stay in a limbo stage. They will never enter Paradise because they never accepted the truth of Jesus. I think it is called the 'purgatory'... I think somehow we deviated from the original subject , but i guess it was worth it, i enjoyed all of it , including the love romance between Martin and Khodja! ( I have a strong belief that those 2 would make great friends if were to meet in real...)
  4. I am interested to know the basic principles that deferentiate the GOD of each relegious group. Is the God of Christians the same God as the one of the Muslims and the JEws? Can we accept the notion that He is the same and unique devinity? If so, what are the implications of this belief? Dante has his own opinion on the matter, but what is your belief on the subject? Is anybody knowledgable enough to summarise the ideas of Dante on this subject? (my knowledge is limited and maybe inadequate.)

There are places and then there are other places! Most of the people in here are busy, knowledge thirsty individuals. So , how can we spare them the BS and keep them visiting the Forum? Common sense and courtesy, wishes us to stay within the proper framework of interaction, otherwise this wouldn't have been a Forum but a brothel! We do not know each other, so how can we be so cruel and impolite to each other? Thinking before uttering a word would be more than adequate to sustain our justifiable or unjustifiable anger! After all there are other people involved , who do not have the luxury or wish to join the 'deviation'. Take care and if you disagree with me, please sent me a private note. (lets spare the other readers!) Love you all, once more!
  6. Ara you're adorable, even though a pain in the ass most of the times! I guess that all you're doing is shouting louder the forum signature of Movses " Zartnir Lao, mernim kezi"........ Once and again you were asked to provide solutions, however you decline that under the valid conclusion that you are here to ring the bell! Well isn't it high time to assume a differnet role in our tribal society? since noone seems to be interested to place his genuine efforts. I even guess your reply : "....as if I care about your opinion....... charlatan and XXX... " Well, life sucks so do people sometimes.!

    Basic Islam

It was my first visit after many months at the site, and I wished to read the topic on Basic Islam. What did I find , pure stupidity and imense diversion from the original topic. Because I believe that this will not end here, I am closing this topic and each one of you can post their 'philosphies' under the right topics and threads. Good Luck to all of you and please stay out of trouble! By the way, I love you all!
  10. I am Armenian, no I am a Chinese, no I am American/indian /Pakistani etc. etc. etc. I love my parents, my brothers, my cousin, my neighbour. I love my girlfriend, wife etc.etc. etc. I feel good when I do good deeds/ bad deeds, I feel good when I hear good news etc.etc. etc. Do I need to touch anything of those? Does my brain cells need to function in such a way so as to conceive these IDEAS or FEELINGS? Maybe there are some hormone secretions, some nerves functioning, but are we in control of those functions. I love God, I love Jesus , I think about doing good to others. I feel something about all these. Are everything crap, as our friend Vahan is putting it? Well, if yes, then maybe we are a big crap ourselves! or 'manure producing machines'. I cannot concieve the adoption of an idea or a relegious belief, that has not come from the rejection of a former idea or belief , after having deeply studied it. It is not fair for the new one too. Just because we don't like the 'picture' of the old nannies or the people who go to the 'traditional' churches, doesn't constitute a valid reason to reject the idea or the essence beyond the "Building and the theatre-like ritual", of the traditional relegions. Suddenly the world is discovering Thibet, Zen, Hinduism, Confucious etc etc etc. It's new , its good , it looks different, maybe its more "IN" to be that. After all look at Richard Geer, Brad, ......... Well then this is not belief , this is not relegion, it is a Fashion Show. If Zen is filling your life with positive energy and feelings, then it is good, but how dare you insult the remaining of us , who stupid enough, have chosen to follow the traditional relegions. You cannot be even a true Zen believer , because a rejection or insult of the different, cannot depict the inner spirit of any belief. Ask your relegion's guide (priest) and come share it with us. It is fun sharing your newly acquired ideas around a coffee table , with some uninterested bimbos, but when you are sharing them with us, please be dissent enough to support your views, with proper respect to the rest of us ( the stupid ones...).
  11. It is not very clear, since parts are missing, but i managed the following: "Servant of God, monk Peter (Petros)...something.... Papadopoulos ( I suppose), 20 Oct, 1915. " I think it is from his tomb stone, with his personal details. He must have been a monk. Usually the monks/clerics , change their first name, but keep their family ones. Maybe the village was a mixed village of Greeks and Armenians, who shared their burial place or even the Church (?) . As for sourp Nigoghayios, I am sorry to say that I don't know anything, but I'll try to locate some info , if I can. We have very limited access to regular and general Armenian sources in Greece!
  12. Saint Nicholas, or Agios Nikolaos, is the patron saint of the seamen and the navy. On the 6th of December the Greek church celebrates his name day and it is a very important day for the Greeks. (sort of national day). I suppose that Saint Nicholas is the same saint as 'sourp Nigoghayios' of the Armenian church.

This is a world record! I posted my last reply at 6:00 am (USA time), I was checking the "who is online" when, Mr Tornado was reading my post at 6:18 am. Then guess what? At 6:24 Mr Iranyar was posting his curses and vomen at Cyberiran Forum, regarding my last post. What is your verdict people? Who is Who ? He is claiming that me, MJ and Garo are anti-Iranians. Well I dare him to show us not just a single word but even a half-word justifying this claim. It seems he got tired of the continuous monologue he was engaged ( with different usernames ofcourse) and he thinks he can irritate us. Well just for your info. The weather in Athens is great. Sunny and warm. I am planning to go to the beach and enjoy the sea and the drink with some nice kalamaria. I will have a nice greek salad too with some nice french fries. I'll drink also for your health too. I need some real sun tan , because someone else is getting really red with anger and hate. "Yia sou moro mou" - Hi baby - Asta la vista... Oops , the ouzo is too stong for me. Yia habibi , yaleleli..... tra la la , tra la la....... [ June 22, 2001: Message edited by: raffiaharonian ]

Since Iranyar has hired a lawyer to futher his positions and slander, I think I should consider hiring a lawyer too. Mr. Lawyer Tornado (or Trojan Horse), I would like to ask you to go over the postings in page 3 of the "others" in the "general" category and click on "Well people, if you may an Odar Speak". Go through the whole discussion and then pass on your professional judgement! I suggest you also visit the Cyberiran Forum and check the IPs of several people , who alas, have exactly the same IP number but different usernames. One of them being "the judge". Although I know in advance that this new feud leads to nowhere, I feel I have to reply and spare the other members from the slander and garbage talks. Once again give my greeting to your client ,oops sorry, your friend and tell him that I'll keep the coffee warm. Chao bello, Raffi

Sireli Berj, I had a vision! We can create the idea of Pan-Armenianism. What about that? Let us discuss in private to find 'methods' and 'proofs' of our superiority and the creation of the noble cause. What about that? Why join other Pan-Xs , when we can have our own Pan....? I'll sleep over it tonight and wait for the Divine message of the new and pure IDEA. I am very content with myself, I finally found the reason of my existence!

Dear Tornado, Do you know me? Do I know you? How can you insinuate things about somebody you don't have the pleasure of knowing. I have never corresponded with you in the past, nor did I ever comment on your topics. As you can see I post in my full name/surname from Greece and believe me there is no one else with the same name in Greece (I suppose). I am not hiding behind a pseudo name or nickname. I have no reason to be hiding anything regarding my identity, unlike many others! I am an exemplary citizen, working hard, paying my taxes, my social dues, my social insurance and with a blank penal record. I have not burdened anybody, any state or any authority with my existence, nor have I claimed any social benefits and privileges from anywhere just because I claimed to be a refugee or an outcast. (this last paragraph is not addressed to you, but to …….. he knows ! ). So basically, I have never been a PEST in my life, unlike many others. Just to put things in perspective, I am who I am and no Armenian, Iranian, Georgian, Yezidi or Pakistani can change that. Do you think I care if Iranyar is trying to insult me by calling me an Arab? If he thinks so, let it be, do you think I give a cent (to say the least) about his ‘names’ towards me? Do you or him think that I am an inferior being? Let it be so, I do not care about anybody's unsubstantiated opinion about me. If anybody thinks likewise, all he/she has to do is either prove it or just continue ‘gassing’ (sorry for the smell…….) Do you think that being a Jew, a Korean, an Arab, a black person or any other combination you choose, would make me an inferior being? Inferior is the person who things that he is a superior person just because he/she belongs into a 'special' group of people. One’s superiority is in his/her ability to be of service to his social surrounding and to his community. In his/her effort to try creating a better world for him and for the future generations. In his/her effort to be a ‘something’ and not a manure producing machine. Being an Armenian fills me with pride and duty, but in no way I can claim that being an Armenian makes me any better person or a superior being. I will give my personal battles for the preservation of our national and cultural identity, but I will try not to harm anybody in the course. I am what I am, I am proud of it and I let others be proud of themselves (if they can substantiate their beliefs and their existence). People make mistakes. To err is only human, but one has to have the courage and the honesty to apologize and correct their mistakes. Insisting on the correctness of their error does not correct them, it makes them even worse. An honest apology would sometimes suffice. Please extend my warmest wishes for well being and prosperity to Iranyar. May God be with him and guide him in the right paths of life.
  17. It is possible to get in love with a non-christian person and end up getting married! So why should there be any problem in being with an Armenian of whatever religion/sect/political affiliation/etc.etc. these things belong to the distant past and should not even be considered a real question or dilema. The real question lies with your ability to create a happy family and secondly (if you wish)an Armenian environment and upringing for your children. The rest is even a SHAME to talk about.

    Coffee

Gia sou kazoulini, Welcome back, even though I nerver figured out why you departed in the first place! You seem to be more active and more talkative than before. That is a good sign. Maybe I should take a leave of absence for a week or so! If you wish to have your coffee read, come over to my place and my mom will oblige you. BTW, does anyone know where does the coffee originate from ?
  19. So, doesn't everything end up to Judgement Day? The rest are food for thinking and discovering the easy/hard path (if there is such a path ) to God .

  22. Sermoning indeed was and still is one of my characteristics, but it seems that I have the same 'virus' as yours. The only difference is that although I try to learn from intellectuals like yourself , you show that you refuse to listen to 'little' people like myself. Perhaps you are getting annoyed because you might be seeing little bit of you in me! Finally I consider myself too young to start being pessimistic. Maybe time and age will add to my nihillistic approach towards life and Armenian matters. Currently deserting the ranks would be a treason to life and loss of effort. I know you are not a deserter. I know you mean good. I know you are trying to be that annoying bell , which calls people to be awake. I am trying to listen to your calls, but give me the credit of trying to be a good listener and the effort to try to use my brain as well. With respect, Raffi
  23. As you might notice in my previous post, I am referring to one’s accountability to himself and not to anybody else or any organized religious or other group. The benefactors (especially the anonymous ones) are indeed believers. Believers to the benefits of their own deeds and the positive influence on others. You are suggesting that today most people tend to act on their emotions and this is exactly what I am referring to. A learned or conditioned behavior produces a result, a good deed or an evil outcome. No matter what, our actions and interactions are not ‘stand alone’ objects in the thin air, they are the outcome of our (???) own beliefs. Now let us remove the ‘Belief’ term, what do we have ? Man is capable of doing great things, but he is capable of worse things as well. All of their deeds are based on beliefs and the question is whether these beliefs have been properly ‘implanted’ and have been acquired through conditional learning. We are at a point where every known ‘value’ in life is under question. Of course the questions are there, correctly ‘inspired’, however no one is giving or even trying to give the answers to those who seek guidance. Question everything, get the pseudo feeling that everything is within your reach, but finally discover that nothing is yours. Get an end result feeling of ‘nothingness’ and ‘meaningless’. Discovering God or the higher power ( if the word God bothers), is a continual process of self discovery and the missing meaning of life. Otherwise we are all indeed ‘dust to dust’…
