And I finally understand the lyrics, though the song was special and mysterious before when I did not understand it. ... Ahhh Toto. Quick story. We were on our way to San Fran one time with about 7-8 friends and we stopped at a small Italian restaurant just outside of Pismo beach. And thet had about 3-4 tables busy and us. All of a sudden Lasciatemi Cantare comes on the stereo and slowly our table started to sing this song out loud even louder than the stereo. Chef came out and started to talk to us in Italian thinking we were from Italy. It was much fun. Sounds like you had fun, and I am certain that the chef was even more impressed with your appreciation and knowledge of their music. I am assuming most of his other patrons were not familiar with the song. It is sad that very little good music is coming out of any country nowadays. Greek music is part of any get together we have. It is part of my family’s identity. I like the old stuff a lot. We are so lucky (Armenian youth) to have been exposed to such culture, music, and international influence. It has enriched us.
