ArmoBlog,I have to disagree with you.Azerbiajan has a milatary of around 60,000-70,000 not 120,000 plus.We have no need to wrooy about Turks because we have Russia who doesn't want to see a pan-turkistan.

And our military has 40,000-60,000 Troops, plus another 20,000-25,000 Kharabakh troops. And no one knows how much military material they have, they keep it under raps.

So I am not worried we are in a good situation at this point in time.

hmm are you sure we can put military data here? the turkish spies are going everywhere

I think "erebuni"airport. There are some small airports all over the country.

Here is a snapshot of it.

P.S. Too bad they are not stationed underground or in hangars. Pretty much voulnurable.

I don't think Google Earth is top secret info.

What kind of a spy would come to an Armenian Forum for Google earth screenshots? I think it's fine.

Anyway, we need new planes: we recently bought 10 SU-25s, which are old as hell, but Armenia paid $100,000 each, while Azerbaijan bought the newer SU-27s, but paid $15-17 million each. We're smart folks.

I'm not suggesting there's going to be war, but if Azerbaijan decides to reclaim "its" lands, then that would be a plausible scenario. Obviously Russia would come to our defense, but Turkey would also help out Azerbaijan, as they have been doing for a while.

But the main conclusion was that Armenia should stay very close allies with Russia. A power station here, a corporation there should do the trick! ;)

As for the numbers, I did say they could be off, because of differing numbers in different sources.

even if the azeri armed forces have more tanks , planes and people

they dont have two things we have :

1) a good strategy

2) a strong will

in case there is a war, the azeri will just waste their people as they used to do

there is something else : we can destroy their BTC pipeline from NKR....

in case there is a war provoked by Az, the armenian army should be less kind than last time, they should go until baku and turn aliev into a useless piece of cake, and they should take more territories, so Az will pay for its stupidity and arrogance for the past years

According to video clip I posted (I don't know where the autor got the information). Armenia is going to get

24 batteries of S300, 12 Tunguskas, 14 SU32, 25 Mig-29MK's, 32 attack hellicopters Mi-38 and many more...

These are state of the art military equipment. But even old mig-25's and su-27's are effective enough. The question is how qualifyed the pilots are? How many training hours they have and how experienced they are. It doesn't matter if azeris have F-22 raptors when don't have good pilots.

Even with good radar coverage and enough s300 and with no military aircraft Armenia should be safe in my opinion.

Because those guys (S300's) never miss the target:)

i didnt know this was from google earth

i dont read russian sorry, and this is an azeri site.....i dont want to read this shit

Well, to summarise it, it says about the same as your shit said.

For those that do want to read it, and get some amusement, just use altavista's online babelfish translation. Interestingly, many of the members of day.az's forum also found it amusing.

"Our country must express its most decisive protest occurred and require so that from the site would be removed all photographs, which contain the information, which does damage to the national security of Azerbaijan."

well, to summarise it, this is really funny neko

Keep in mind, the S300s are SAMs - Surface to Air. Even if we shoot their planes down - assuming they don't take out the SAMs before anything - we are still lacking in ground force equipment, such as tanks.

Again, this post was meant as a "what if" scenario. I don't know about your source, but the Mig 29s are most likely the Migs in Russia's 102nd base, under Russian control.

If I had it my way, we wouldn't have any conflict and all these billions would go to better use. But I don't.

Tanks are not very sufficient in mountainous terrains either. They can get hit very easily also they can't climb the mountains. Unless you have very experienced personal.

I wish there is no need for the mil. equipment either so the money could be spent for better reasons. But as you know it is absurd. Even in peace time we need strong military.

By the way I was looking on google earth front lines in Karabakh. Azeri and Armenian positions. It is very detailed and amazing! You can see azeri tanks hidden in positions then minefields in front of armenian positions and hundreds of kilometers long shieldings etc.

Coordinates, please. The most I have been able to see have been the ruins of houses in the front line. And the Baku-Jeyhan pipeline - it is a wide line through fields and such but is gradually being covered with vegetation. In a couple of years it will not be visible.

Armenia is the weakest in the region Russia, Iran, Turkey will crush us but Azerbaijan they are all talk what happened in 92'? Please tell me after a devastating earthquake with barely any weapons we took artsakh thats faith and pride right there and Russia will help us Russia has about 40, 000 soldiers in Armenia today protecting the borders and in 2007-8 they are going to bring another batch from Georgia to the armenian azeri border to assist the Armenians.

They don't have more tanks. And anyway,we only need enough to defend our postions, the Ohanian line that we have built and re-inforced many times over is unbreakable. It is like the Maginot line in World War Two exept there is no Belgium to invade from for the Azeris.Plus once they attack and we push them back,we then counter attack and fight a smart well thought out plan to Baku.

And the air-defense we have is unbreakable with those anti-air missles that are the best in the world.Plus we have a bunch of missles that we can launch on any oil installation that they have to drop there suupplies and moral.
