ArmoBlog
In Armenia we have 3M and say another 3M in Disapora. Just pointing out that there are 6 million (2004 estimate according to WikiPedia) in the Diaspora. Not that it makes much of a difference compared to our neighbors, but just a factual pinpoint! Nazarian
Thank you for the insight HyeFedayis. I must confess that I was dimly aware of an eventual turkish invasion in Armenia. Hopefully we will see other nations blocking the interest of the turks, not only russians. What I didn't know was that Ukrainians fought on the tatar side. Since we Romanians have territorial disputes with Ukraine, it is clearly on which side we will eventually land. But in a world where money can buy goverments and the diplomacy conducted by a goverment may overwrite the general will of its citizens I am inclined to say that it will take some time until other nations will find that the presence of turkey is nothing more but a destabilizing factor in the Balkans/Middle East. Unity and faith. Yes, there were quite a few Ukrainian pilots on the Azeri side. A lot of them got shot down but I don't know their fate after that. I don't think they bombed the Armenian villages and towns because they didn't like us. Azerbaijan paid them good money that's why they did it. The Ukrainian government sold military hardware to Azerbaijan but I am not sure whether it was for political reasons, or simply money. I think they have been and are after Azeri oil as they want(ed) to diversify their oil supplies. hence the GUAM.
AK-47
We may not have the highest number of active troops (Azeris double us, Turks quadruple us) and not the most advanced munitions but think back to Karabakh. We fought w/ heart, with the help of diaspora and without any tanks. Azeris supplied us w/ their own weapons. Azeris had ukrainians, turks, azeri-iranians, and some russian help on their side. We had russia and the diaspora and we still managed to kick Azerbaijan out of Armenian land. Guys don't be too pessimisstic. We are the strongest army out of Georgia us and Azerbaijan. Plus Iran and Russia are good neighbours for now. We're doing good.
hytga
a good investment in the armenian army would be bulletproof wests and other protective gear. More comfortable boots, night vision gear, antitank and shoulder launched anti aircraft misslies (maiy for use agains attack hellecopters).
