Eurocentric
I like our Coat of Arms very much. The only thing it misses is a Crown in the middle. The flag is different, I always found it hideous.
Armenak
The flag is different, I always found it hideous. Why?
Dave
I like our Coat of Arms very much. The only thing it misses is a Crown in the middle. Yea but I think they didn't put a crown because Armenia isn't a Kingdom as are countries like Britain, Spain, Saudi Arabia, etc. Edited July 25, 2006 by Dave
Eurocentric
Yea but I think they didn't put a crown because Armenia isn't a Kingdom as are countries like Britain, Spain, Saudi Arabia, etc. Is Georgia a Kingdom? How about Serbia or Bulgaria? Anyway, our COA is pretty cool nonetheless.
Eurocentric
Why? Not a big fan of tricolor flags. Out of all those flags I like the Irish and Italian flags the most, I don't like our colors at all.

15levels
I'd love to see the symbol of eternity be integrated in the flag... by the way, i dont like our colors either... its also the columbian flag upside down.. we could be much more creative, no? ( as of colors, i love French flag the most ) Edited July 27, 2006 by 15levels
hayemyes
I don't understand why everyone wants to change the Armenian flag, i mean everyone's entitled to their opinion, but i find the flag represents the tenacity and power of struggle of armenians, since it was established during our first independance, and shows how much the armenians are capable of holding on and come out of the ashes again, be reborn. Changing the flag would mean changing history, and we have established a well-known identity among non armenians with our flag, and everyone who sees it recognizes us. Do we really want to lose that and become more complicated for non armenians to understand and identify? The colors represent well the whole Armenian culture and history, of course adding the eternity sign in the middle or something wouldnt be a bad idea, but then again that sign is used by some other cultures too, so it wouldnt be unique. Perhaps put the COA in the middle? but even then, i rather keep the flag as is, cuz it has crossed almost a whole century and represents a whole century of Armenian history. Zartonk
I'd love to see the symbol of eternity be integrated in the flag... Agreed. It should be concidered before the cross.
Arpa
What I always wanted to know is why the Armenian flag doesn't have a cross on it? Cross? Up your ... Cross? I’d rather have that “crooked cross”, the Swastika. It may cause more damage in the rectum. Have we not have had that Cross up to here/there? Have we not borne that cross long enough! Remember the "cross" of 1915!! Why are we designated the “cross bearers” of the world!!??? When was it the last time the holder on that trademark, the Pope, the eternal Crusader came to our rescue? How about we place this symbol? Uranium, rhymes with Urartian? http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/sci_tech.../element9.shtml Edited July 27, 2006 by Arpa
Dave
Our flag is certainly better than plenty of other flags, most notably the Azerbaijani flag.
annannimusss
The Armenian cross should be put on the Armenian flag, if the flag was to be changed. As Armenians the Armenian Apostolic Church is what has kept us Armenian over the Centuries and has kept us from assimilating into a bunch of Turks. The way I see it no Armenian Apostolic church,no Armenians today. That is why the Armenian Churches Cross should be put on a flag that was to be changed,it would be a flag that we all can look at with great pride. Yervant1
In my opinion there are a lot more other urgent issues that needs to be dealt with before the flag. Democracy, corruption, poverty, unemployment, business confidense, better run institutions and so on.
hayemyes
I agree with the cross idea it represents us well, and should be considered if there's a change, but i agree that there are more urgent issues
Harut
a question... should the flag represent the country (the republic) or the ethnicity?
Armenak
a question... should the flag represent the country (the republic) or the ethnicity? Both. And it does just that.
Eva
Personally, I didn't like the old Georgian flag neither I like the new one. I remember (from my childhood)I used to see that ugly flag every time that we had to cross the border from Armenia to Gerogia to visit our relatives. Their new choice isn't a good one either, they don't have any imagination. Edited July 28, 2006 by konfetka
Yeghishe_Charents
Umm.. lets see, i oppose all your opinions about the Armenian flag and coa. The coa is perfectly fine and if you know the meaning of the coa you wouldnt want to change it. Same with the flag. I reckon the coa and the flag are the best in the world better than Italy's or Frances. You just have to appreciate Armenian creativity and design because we sure are talented. Դրօ
The flag is just fine. There have been suggestions that a medallion be placed in the middle. Some have suggested a cross, others Ararat, we may even suggest that an outline of Historic Armenia, yet even as is it is just fine. What we need is an educational campaign to recite the colors not Karmir, Kapuyt Narnjakagoogoogaga but Karmir Kapuyt Tsitrani, and in English either Red Blue Apricot, or Red Blue and Gold. The present generation may be beyond salvage but as it will rhyme with Tsapik tsapik tsirani, we start teaching our toddlers to recite; Karmir kapuyt tsirani Im droshn e yerani ! Voske tsiran nmani, Dem mer erkni tsatsani! However, that joke of an anthem got to go! ....... Um... do you even know what the colours mean? There's a reason why the third colour is orange and not apricot or gold. the sun's energy the clear sky the wheat at harvest

hosank
not bad at all. i think armenia should change it's flag, i mean, so far, its just a bunch of colours, that's not original, or significant of armenia's past a few months ago, i was playing around on paint and i invented a new flag, it doesn't look nice, but the pattern is interesting. Hellektor
Seems like you are enjoying talking to yourself! I suspect in real life you are truly suffering from a multiple personality disorder. Stop this crap; we know what you are all about. We don't need anything in the middle of our flag. Our sacred flag is beautiful as is, not like your filthy, bloody genocide banner, red with the blood of my people with Lucifer's symbol in the middle. Dear Hellector, I think it is better to leave HyeFidayis alone. He doesn't even know what he is talking about. Just ignore the crap. We better concentrate on more serious staff. By the way I sent an email to ANCA about the Khojalu hoax. Waiting for the response. I will let you know as soon as I get an answer.
