That could be much more difficult depending on the context of what you're writing. I can't stand Word's autocorrect feature sometimes. When I was little, my sister had a portable Canon typewriter - but it was one of these models that had a small LCD screen and a built in word processor. You could type up to one line at a time, and spell-check/correct it before actually printing it on paper. Pretty neat for the generation.

There are successful restaurants, and there are those who scrape by month after month. I personally know a "restaurateur" who owns several small bistros and is making a mint. I also have a client who's small retail business is providing for his two Porsche's, his ski cottage, and his very elegant home in a affluent neighborhood in the city. There are countless others running similar businesses that aren't nearly quite as successful. Being an entrepreneur is an extremely challenging proposition and I admire those who can do it successfully (and I also admire those that have the guts to do it at all!) Eventually I'd consider running my own business, but for now, I think I'm still hung up on improving/acquiring the skills I perceive I don't possess. I suppose you have to build the muscles before you lift the weight. For those like me, who "work for the man", a profession (like engineering, medicine or law) can lead to a very comfortable life. Regardless of profession, you still have to possess the desire and discipline to succeed. There are unsuccessful engineers in existence and certainly there are unsuccessful lawyers too. The person who succeeds as an entrepreneur, would likely succeed at anything. Typically, they are ambitious, motivated, resourceful, and above all they are leaders. They know how to get things done. If you apply that kind of profile to any profession, I'm certain you'll find success.

It's a naturally occurring phenomenon, that crosses cultural and ethnic boundaries. Ahmedinejad was roundly mocked in the American press not that long ago claiming that homosexuality does not exist in his country. Baloney - it exists, and exists just about everywhere. A sex change however, is clearly voluntary, and I imagine the reasons one would decide to make such a decision vary considerably. I think Nairi is on to something - if society does away with general sexual stereotypes, than perhaps the number of sex change operations will decreaseé. Nevertheless, a portion of sex change operations are "legit" so to speak. The human reproductive system isn't infallible, and will produce the occasional anomaly... our current health industry seeks to fix anomalies so it's not surprising that surgery is a choice for some... Kind of off-topic, but has anyone read Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides?

Toshiba recently canned their competing HD product (DVD-HD) so Blu-ray is crowned the winner for the formta war... That makes the choice much easier for consumers. I don't have an HD television, so I'll stick with my regular (aging) DVD player... but when the time comes I'll pick up a blu-ray player. For now though, I'm liable to wait for quite a while

I like the idea of starting off with google.am - I don't think it's realistic to expect google to commemorate the Armenian Genocide simply because of an email campaign. Like it or not, this issue has been dramatically politicized - not just by various lobby groups, but also through American partisan politics. Google has next to no incentive (apart from doing the right thing), and compared to the potential firestorm it could cause for them, the upside is outweighed considerably by the risks. A better approach, one that poses less risk to google, is to include victims of ALL genocides in the "google" genocide memorial. This will hopefully be more acceptable politically, and will allow us the opportunity to include the AG as a key component, and by choosing April 24 as the commemorative date, the implications are clear. I think it's too late for this year, but with proper preparation, next year could be possible.

The phenomena is called Colony Collapse Disorder, and it has spread pretty much across most of North America, and has already been seen in parts of Europe. Reported cases here in Canada, some beekeepers have lost more than 50% of their bee colonies. This is significant as bees are significantly responsible for the pollination of crops - no bees and life gets much harder for the farmers (and more expensive for you and me). Various theories blame neonicotinoid pesticides (which are banned in some parts of Europe but still used here), genetically modified crops, or even mobile phone radiation as root causes - but mostly this is speculative. I can't recommend a good one in LA - but I can offer some advice: DON'T COMPROMISE on your roof. I learned from experience. Although I did much of the work for the cabin myself, I was not going to install roofing. So for scheduling reasons I decided to use the same contractor I was using for some other work to install the metal roofing - he explained to me that his crew had experience in this type of installation, and that the work would be done concurrently with the other stuff. I didn't get a roofing specialist, and now I regret it. The first winter we had major humidity issues, due to poor roof ventilation. After that was sorted out I discovered that they had using the incorrect flashing for the chimney sections (ayy! leaks!). Generally they were inexperienced and ill-equipped - they did the job, but it's certainly not top-quality.... I figure in about 8-10 years, I'll save up some money and have it redone....

As AVO says, unlike a Smart, it's all electric. While Smarts are fuel efficient, they still use gasoline combustion engines. We're already seeing plenty of Smart cars up here - I see at least one a day somewhere downtown. A more interesting option for city driving, is the all-electric car. Use zero gas! Even Canada has a car-maker: Check out http://www.zenncars.com/ They're pretty awesome - but we can't buy them up here, even if they're made here Note: these are economical and "green" from a fossil fuel consumption & emissions point of view. To evaluate how truly green they are would involve a discussion that includes their batteries, battery disposal (acids etc.) and electricity generation in general.
