Barev Harout Matenadaran is one of the only places that you can fine old Armenian books ( Magarats ), one of this magarats that is close to 2800 years old ( i was told by the matenadaran guide) has a detailed picture of 2 Duduk player that are holding a duduks, one is a duduk that’s looks like it’s made of a reed cane , in the background there is a apricot tree and the fruits are on it. In sardarapat museum, there is a big section of Armenian instruments, and on of the oldest piece is a duduk that’s close to 2800-3000 years old, this instrument is made of a reed cane it’s a one piece duduk, the reed and the body are one... In 1903 Gomidas ( Komitas Vartapet ) has recorded the descriptions of Armenian instruments and fingering charts for , 5 Shvis , 3 Srings, 2 Zurna’s, 2 Paku’s, 4 ParkaPzuks, 8 duduk , A-D-C-G-B-Bb-G piccolo-F and duduk fingering chart which was later used and modified my Master Karlen (MKS) and Suren ( SAM ) to 38 new key's naw you cen get duduks starting at piccolo G-F<->up to<-> BAss duduk This description is in Armenian national museum, in Yerevan. http://www.armenians.com/Arm-music-ins/duduk-s.jpg I own over 80 duduks my self made by different master in different times, as old us 200 years old as new as 20 days old. i do have 2 duduk looking instruments , one is made in turkey ( maye ) the other is made in Japan made of a jade ( much smaller in size and sharper in sound ) after searching for 4 years i have found 3 masters that are the best, the Grandfather of duduk makers Master Karlen (MKS) and Master Suren (SAM) and at last Master Ruban (RR Shvi Rubo) and by being one of the only duduk importers to USA i do offer this instruments, with a 100% Made in Armenia and made by an Armenian, 100% Armenian Duduks to all. Instruments that I offer are used round the world by the best duduk players, and every day I get a phone call that tells me that one has got hold of a duduk mad in istambul that those not sound good or made in Iran that has no sound at all, As of SAM – I have been looking for his instruments and him for long time. His instruments are 99.9% same as MKS instruments. I will get you some more info as I go on exploring his instruments, more pictures and moreeeeeeeeeeee~~~~~ , And one last think stay away from Vernisaje , you will find so many MKS and Sam stemped instruments that are just a another souvenir !!! i like Nune - most of the songs are 100% Armenian Songs . i get hold of the video tape of the cansert that she hed in Mascaw / withe Jivan Gasparyan , i love it, it's nice .

This is part of the Echmiadzin treasures, this is the original , at this time it's hanged at Echmiadzin museum, i have took this picture not more than 10 days a go . my guess is that many artist have made similar carpets, rugs , engravings in a time.
