Not being an expert on human biology, I don't think everything is as simple as "genetic (born with) or not". There is a lot of chemistry going on in our bodies at all stages of development and there are many chemicals and hormones that govern our moods, behaviors, and even likes/dislikes. Even if one is not necessarily "born" gay, I really think it is something far deeper than just some learned behavior. Now it is entirely possible that under the right conditions and with the proper brain washing (from very early on), I too could have learned to enjoy the company of males and even the occasional sausage fest ... but I highly doubt my natural attraction to women would have been lost in the process ... maybe surpressed, but not entirely lost. Of course this is all highly speculative but looking at lower animals, the desire to get it on and pro-create is fairly instinctive
