Just wanted to make sure of something first ... do you have to do that thing that Jews do to a certain male body part if you marry a jew? Because if you have to, I'd much rather put up with the agony of marrying a conservative Armenian. By the way, just wanted to say that the last few posts have been rather enlightening. Although I am still trying to comprehend most of it.

Seems like a natural thing to say if you want to get asylum, doesn't it? We've been outa there since 1989 but even during the early times after the revolution, it didn't get that bad. Those tunnels are pretty strange! I used to take Malibu canyon road ... on the "valley side" it would normally be around 95 to 100 degress F. on the Ocean side, it would usually be around 70 to 80 degrees! It was like going through a door from outside into an air conditioned building. I always drive with my windows down but everytime would get caught by surprise when the temperature would just drop like 20 degrees!!!

Ah! Malibu ... believe me, if I could, I would ... live there ... even in a kayak I used to work for a few years at HRL (Hughes Research Labs) which is on the hill on top of Perpperdine University right in Malibu. It has one of the most spectacular views I have EVER seen in my life. On a clear day, you can see almost the entire western coastline of Los Angeles, all the way to Long Beach and even the tower at LAX airport which is probably 50 miles away!!! On some days, you can even see the buildings on Catalina Island which is pretty far ... This Link has an Apple Quicktime VR image of what I'm talking about ... it's taken right in front of the cafeterria where we used to have lunch almost everyday. But nooooo ... we are stuck in "the valley" where it's hotter than hell in the summer and the people are very old and very boring But one thing I love about here is that the streets are wide and straight. You got east-west streets and you got north-south streets. Everything organized in rectilinear fashion !!! You go to places like San Francisco or major cities in Europe and their streets are like spagetti ... one crosses the other, loops around something else, changes names about 50 times ... I was trying to find 17th street in San Francisco once ... so I'm drivng past 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th and of course I think I am there when all of a sudden I see 18th street!!! WTF???? I went back and forth a few times and I couldn't find 17th street I hate San Francisco. Hmmmm, ok, I'll shut up now ...

It keeps track of people so they can't vote twice. I think it does that by member name (i.e. 1 vote per registered member).. this way, if a user uses different computers (different IPs), that person still cannot vote more than once.

I guess you already figured out the "poll" thing About the featured member thing, I think the UBB software picks a member at random and displays it as the "featured member". This way, people can get to know different members as they keep visiting the forum.
