Lets just call it public service...but I'm a bit of jack of all trades...I do all sorts of stuff (including making movies/videos...write quite a lot...do studies & analyis on occasion...teaching [sometimes without my "students' realising they are recieving a "lesson" etc]...and I concieve/design and develop games/simulations (of a sort)...that sort of thing...fun stuff)...and I do it/them well (very well)...so I take pride in my work - in its quality and I get much satisfaction from such (and in knowing that basically no one other person in the world could likely do what I do - as I do it...)...and always like to feel that I am making a difference and doing important stuff that needs to get done...and I do very much believe in what I do...(evasive enough for ya?) Still I could cut over to being retired and pursueing some of my many other interests in ernest (as well as raise my kids and do stuff with them etc). For instance I've considered becomming a landscape architect - as I have skills/knowledge and experience in such...or becomming a wine buyer or perhaps a somilier etc...(things I also sort of do on the side)...or pursue various personal video projects...many concived but no time to follow through...or just contuinue to do fun videos - I video bands and such - among other stuff...etc etc etc

Agreed...the (very many) French gals really have a fashion sense..but Italian (gals) tend to show their stuff better - IMO...and casual is good too...you should see me - I'm a shorts and sandals kind of guy - wherever and whenever possible (though my legs are certainly my best [physical] attribute...so might as well flaunt them eh?...not why I do it...but what the hey...)...so who am I to judge otherwise... ohh and English & fillipino...bet you have an awfuly nice look...some of the prettiest/sexiest (and I hope you don't mind me saying but sluttiest...and thats a good thing [for my tastes! LOL]...sorry though don't at all mean to imply...) gals I've ever seen have been fillipino...but I'm thinking super high heels, skirts slit all the way up the sidde, form fitting tight tops...that sort of thing...and the walk...yeah...they must have the walk....(I did inform everyone that I am a staunch feminist BTW...LOL...really I am...still I am a guy...what can I say...?) But sorry to digress...(and I'm just refering to visual stim BTW...and I am a very visual guy - just by nature...as us guys are in general...but you gals are learnin...)

Well there is a time/place for silence (and I can certainly think of things worthwhile between guy and girl that don't necessarily require much talking! ) and a time/place for communication...certainly... I for one vow that if we ever meet "bruin I will attempt to talk you under the table - and though I imagine thats a tall order I feel up to the challenge! (not like it might sound..sorry ...LOL...but in the sense of drinking one under the table...)...but I promiss to never interrupt!

I've been very impressed with the women in Europe...how they look and dress that is. I have been frequently all ga ga by gals in Paris and Rome...even the Turkish gals (Ankara mostly) left me with witha very favorable impression...and yeah lots of Americans really dress down (and I certainly do my share...)..and thats unfourtunate...but its not entirely all bad...

I'm not afraid per se - but its certainly not something I'm looking foreward to...yes - i wan't to go on for a long time - for my children if nothing else...to be with them and see them grow through childhood and into adults and perhaps to experience families of their own - i so much want to see this. I lost my father 7 1/2 years ago - he died less then a month before my youngest was born. My father knew that he was going to have another grandson and would have so much wanted to get to know him as he knew and loved my eldest son so. My youngest never knew my father - but many times has expressed that he wished that he did (which has been really touching) - as both my wife and I talk about him a great deal...and we have pictures and videos of course. And a little over 2 years ago I had a medical emergency where I came very very close to losing my life - in fact I insisted to see my wife and kids immediatly before they took me into surgery...and I thought it might be the last time...you can't immagine my regrets at that moment - and my sadness...and what a feeling afterwords though - and since - now that I have a new lease on life...it has certainly changed my perspectives on many things...though much the same as well - as I have allways been one to want to experience life and see and do interesting things. What its really changed though - interestingly enough - is my career ambition...I still want to do quality interesting and important work - but I have lost the interest in advancement and all that sort of thing - just content now with what I'm doing and looking foreward to retirement (very much)...and in many ways - a very many ways - I don't think (now) that this is such a bad thing...but of course I'm not planning to just sit idle..there is so much that I still wish to do and experince...and I have so many things I still want to see, do and experience with my children...

You could sing that to me anytime 'Bruin...I'm someone special...even if thats not what you had in mind...I mean I'd be an apreciative listner...regardless...LOL Very nice BTW...the guy should be so lucky... And Happy Thanksgiving BTW!

No angel - I meant that in all seriousness...regarding cars of course - I've always liked smaller, nimble (and quick) cars....but yes you do seem very bright...and I like that in a gal (and in all people) too...

Got to admit that I'm am without a clue as to why anyone would be ga ga over either an Escalade or a Navigtor...to me its like someone getting all worked up for a greyhound bus - which is essentially what these things are (and have you ever driven one? They suck basically - like driving a big truck)..I mean perhaps there could be some practical apeal - like iof you owned St Benards...(but even then...)...but its not like they perform worth anything and I can't really see how anywould would find them sexy - just big boxes (that suck gas like nothing else)...I mean really now....I don't at all see it...

Sasun - the US is under no obligation to give assitance to nations it is having problems with. I think that the US and other western nations should use the leverage of assitanc etied to clear politcal progress - and with lack thereof - shold withhold that assistance. It won't likley happen - but i believe that it should.

In general i view Scheverdnaze's ouster as a good thing. And it is a clear signal to the leaderships of Georgia and Armenia that perhaps they could be next (at least some hope for opponents)...all these nations indeed have a very long way to go - both politaclly and economically. I only hope that the corruption in Armenia doesn't extend to the levels that would completly ruin it as a viable nation - which is entirely possible I think. And in many ways I think each of these nations troubles speaks to the fact that to some degree they are not in fact viable nations. I don't think any of the Caucuses nations have enough wherewithall to go it alone and that at some point some sort of confederation is going to be requirred where the three (as well as the renagade Georgian provinces - and who knows maybe even parts of the Northern Caucuses) band together economically, militarily and eventually politically to form some kind of viable confederated state concept - even if each unit maintins some sort of quai-political independence and identity. And its also clear that more powerful outside forces and pressure are requirred to whip each of these nations into politcial and economic shape. Its apauling that the United States has failed to practice what it preaches and has allowed the travesties that called themselves elections to occur in these nations recently. But I really don't think any of these countries can continue long in the manner that they are currently being run. As an aside - a friend of mine who sometimes/often works with all the Governments and political parties in the region once (in 2001) had a conversation with a leading Azeri political figure concerning the person justifying driving many of the opposition parties out from government controlled buildings (just to make things more dificult for them - etc). The man said that Azaerbaijan has no problem with opposing political parties...because there is plenty of jail space for the lot of them.... Asd an aside

Good points Sev-Marde - and yeah - I don't think its very useful to generalize. I've certainly kown several black women who would never in a million years see themselves at the bottom of anything (well maybe in certain situations/positions - but believe you me I certainly could see these gals on top!)...they are self confident, smart and beautiful - and making good money to boot - and with plenty of manly interest. (and we arenot talking professional gals here - not in that sense - but professionals just like the rest of us white collar working types...). So there are all sorts - and while some (black) gals may have a complex or what not - they arent alone in that...and it isn't at all universal.

In some ways I don't think so...its like saying - I don't want/am notinterested in being loved...in some ways i think this is certainly abnormal. Now of curse there aree practical or situational conditions where this might make sense - as relationships are a bit of work, require certain time and attention etc...but to say - "no - i'm not interested in a relationship" just out of hand - with no qualifiers etc - well i do think tat this is abmnormal. Now on Sips behalf - I agree - what really is "normal" is there such a thing? And "Bruin points out the cultural/situational differences in what might be defined as normal - OK - certainly...but it still seems to me that life is about relationships - it is our relationships - be they family or otherwise that make life important/special...and those who are so caught up into other things where relationships become secondary - or non-existant - well - to me - they are really missing out on what it means to live...

Yeah - could be cool I guess...LOL ..I guess as a longtime Tolkien fan and Dungeons and Dragons player (even still to some extent) I should be more enthused eh? ...its just those Dragons & such scare me just a bit! LOL :velho: And Dark majik...hexes, curses, voodoo stuff etc etc...yeah i think some of it is "real" in a sense...but in general I am not really much of a believer. And believe me I have looked into/studied such quite a bt. I am very familiar with Aliester Crowely (creator of the THOTH tarot deck in fact!), (and I've been known to do Tarot readings etc in my time...), as well as Madame Blavatsky, etc etc and am sometwhat familiar with teh Quabbala, elements of vodoo and all the rest...I think that there is something to some of this - but mostly where such interacts with alchemy/pharmacy and physchology...as opposed to straight out supernatural (which I don't exactly belive in). I don't discount that there are senses and perhaps powers that we cannot adeqyatly explain or understand - and thus we may consider them to be "supernatural" - but I think this is only do to our ignorance...(unexplainable only because we lack the proper info or ability at this time) more then really majic like...etc

Nothing at all wrong with "looking" - in fact my wife often points out "scenery" for me when we are out - knowing how appreciative I am! LOL (and I sometimes do the reverse for her as well)...isn't this healthier then the opposite - which I have seen in couples? I just can't understand it...to me "not looking" well - everyone might as well just be covered/vieled then eh?

Anileve - super posts on this thread - particularly putting it to Accelerated (you will have no success with him though I fear...quite a neandertal about this sort of thing). And I proudly proclaim myself a feminist (and have for quite some time)...and I am most serious about this. And I suspect that 'Bruin you are too - admit it or not...I mean think of what your world would be like prior to the concept of feminism etc (it would be like Armenia and other such places...so think about it)...though i understand your objection/concern with to femnazis (though i hate that term - considering its origin)...just as i am very environmentalist but do think there are some very narrow minded fanantics that take it way too far - as with anything... But I must say Anileve - I am most impressed by your posts and your obvious intellect and excellent perspective. In fact in genral we have some very kick butt ladies on the forum at this time...most impressive and a wonderful addition. I think its great that diverse Armenian (and otherwise) views are represented here - and yes I do appreciate very much the progressive ones that I identify with (and think that theses views need more airing/exposure in Armenian forums etc) - but the diversity in and of itself is worthwhile IMO - and we certainly have it. So bravo! And can't wait to see more posts from you and from all the new forumites!

I'd want the power to make it all happen...just as I would wish it...god like...etc (that prety much covers anything eh?)...abel to relive hunger and sadness in the world, save the envronment of our planet/cut out polution, help endagered species and other animals to live in proper habitats, stop war, etc etc...oh and make sure every one uses their turn signal...that sort of thing...[iritates the hell out of me...]...of course humanity would likely revolt...(just like they always do on Star trek when faced with thsi sort of thing...) and yes Sip...I can fulfil your desire right now (hey there good looking!
