Researchers Find Gay Penguins In Japanese Aquarium

Hahaha Yes, it is true, my interest in the matter has skyrocketed now that this issue has taken such a front seat in North American politics. The injustice we often see just blows my mind. -

I would think, sexual activity with the members of one's own sex, by most definitions. -

The fact that it occurs in typical environmental settings does nothing for you? How could there be no genetic component if there is no societal abnormality to justify it? If by "complex reasons" you are including the pleasure of the killing or with the fascination with observing the death, then yes. "I once killed a man in Reno, just to watch him die." There can be these mental motivations which have no underlying ecological bearing, but again such motivations are only observed in humans and therefore not very relevant to this discussion, in my opinion. Domino, thank you for the link you provided, but I'm not sure it adequately deals with the reason for the killing. Is there any support to suggest that there was murder without a practical motivation? Maybe they were dealing with a threat which was not perceived by the researchers. -

Wow! Talk about a dilemma for conservatives! Perhaps a slight argument against homosexuality in one context, but an even better argument favoring evolution Closest genetics cousins after all. Do you have a link for this, I would be curious to read it. -

The fact that you find homosexuality abundantly in the animal kingdom trounces any notion that it is "unnatural," which is a main argument for opponents. The fact that homosexuality can be "induced" in proper environmental conditions (eg. cramped living quarters, certain temperature ranges, etc.) is interesting at the very least in that it the behavior is observable outside the human species. For voluntary homosexual sex to occur in normal circumstance, contrarily, is a devastating fact supporting the hypothesis of a genetic component to such behavior, as these animals simply do not have the cortical capacity to "choose" to engage as such. Wars, and murder in general, is specific to humans only. Animals kill for prey and for ecological balance which usually does not apply to us. Humans are the only species that kill for fun. -
There is a liberal show out on satellite radio now called, "The Young Turks". It features a Turkish-American as the main host. Though I enjoy the show, I find the name somewhat offensive, do you think it's worth complaining? http://www.youngturk.com/xoops/

vava, this is true in some species but not all. Check this out: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/20..._gayanimal.html http://www.bidstrup.com/sodomy.htm http://www.salon.com/it/feature/1999/03/cov_15featurea.html Over 450 kinds of animals naturally exhibit homosexual tendencies. This is the type of thing that makes conservative homophobes squirm. -
The Netherlands should be commended for their progessive views on euthanasia, drug control, prostitution, and abortion. The quality of life of society increases immeasurably once it is able to break free from the intolerent stranglehold of social policy by religious zealots. It is no wonder why Holland is the most developed nation in the world alongside a few more left-leaning nations. I support this endeavor, perhaps not wholeheartedly but with the reassurance that the process is heavily monitored and that the decision to proceed with the euthanization is truely last-resort and has the blessing of all involved. Contrary to what the Vatican may have you believe, keeping the suffering, terminally-ill alive to wither away in agony during their final days is a sick and selfish enterprise. I am encouraged by recent developments in regards to euthanasia in Canada and I hope that my great nation will soon follow suit in passing laws which will make it legal.

"I come from Armenian stock and we are fighters." -- David Nalbandian Woohoo, I say this is his time to finally come through and win a Grand Slam... fingers crossed.

When did this site appear? Who is this "Holdwater" character? I like how he prefaces his discussion on Turkish scholars by saying "no scholar should ever be attacked because he says what is unpopular" and that it is wrong for Turks to "condemn them for in some way betraying their country" if they believe a genocide occurred. He then goes on to qualify historians like Akcam as "turncoats", "biased", "anti-Turkish", "nuts", "opportunists", "ignoramuses", "going to bed with Armenians". He then posts a Turkish article claiming that Turkish scholars acknowledging the genocide "are all traitors, and betrayers of anything and everything sacred for Turkey and Turks". The site is good for entertainment value, but nothing serious here.
-
MJ, It's the ultimate paradox: the day Turkey recognizes the Genocide will be the day Armenians begin to cease to exist, thus completing the annihilation. A most pathetic uniting fiber.

Thanks vava, how are you? BTW, you guys can watch a news report video here: http://www.cbc.ca/clips/mov/ditchburn_armenia0404211.mov , featuring a bunch of Turkish-Canadian crybabies bitching and moaning about how the MPs have "no idea" what they're doing.
-
Great too see you too Azat How've you been doing?? I am smack dab in the middle of exams but I just had to take time off to watch the development of this most momentous occasion. I am very proud of this country right now, the way the MPs were flashing smiles and thumbs-up to Assadourian, the applause, and also the multipartisan support. You can't imagine how shocked I was to see guys like Cauchon and Dhaliwal stand up during the "yeas".. I was like did I just see that?? First the New York Times, now this.. these past few days have produced the most significant events for the advancement of the Armenian cause since the filming of ARARAT. Right in time for April 24th. Now to sit back and enjoy the threats, condemnations and ambassador recall (possibly) from Turkey.
-
You guys should know that this bill received applause several times, MP Assadourian got a standing ovation, as did the other MP Dalphond-Guiral.. I was shocked to see that many of the high-ranking Liberals came up and voted in favor of this bill, this is a BIG deal it does not happen very often for so many top dogs to come out and vote against the party line, this is a great day.

At long last! Thank you Tina. The reluctance of everybody to sign up for the free trial and post this article has been surprising and disheartening.

Whoooops, didn't look at the date of the initial post. And yeah, eBay says age will be up for "up to 90 days" after end of auction. [ March 05, 2003, 03:21 PM: Message edited by: wh00t ]

Ok, for some reason unknown to me, Kurt Vonnegut's lesser-known novel "Bluebeard" is the #1 selling book on xanga.com right now. As you may know, the book is somewhat of an autobiography about one Rabo Karabekian, whose parents fled the Genocide.

Why did the eBay police remove the item?
