yes, vava, that's the case with me too. even my relatives here in toronto, they don't call us unless they need something from us.. hmmm.. i don't know, i don't think it's an "Armenian thing".. but then again, almost everyone (non-Armenians) i know do keep in touch with their relatives.. i don't think we can generalise it and say that all Armenians are like that, but i've seen a lot of Armenian families who just don't keep in touch with relatives for many reasons (day-to-day problems, hassles. etc.)

lol, could be, but she better realize that the phone bill is suffering cos of that. And lol, i was stuck with my family last night. it sucked.. so i spent a good portion of the night on the internet -- till like uhhh 4 am.. (drunk on the internet? lol)

yeah, that's what i'm saying. especially if it happens every year for 15 years.. well, to hell with that, i ain't calling anyone who hasn't called me in 15 years. duh!

Angel jan, yes yes, but if you're the one calling them ALL the time for the past uhhh 15 years, there's something wrong with that.. i told my mom, "if they don't care enough to call us on this occasion, why do you bother?"

my mom called her parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins (most of them live in cali), her friends in the UK, some relatives in France, a couple of them in Lebanon, Syria, Armenia, and Russia.. We're gonna have a big fat Armenian phone bill to pay for next month.. and then she objects to me getting DSL or whatever, cos it's "expensive".. ya right..

Wow, and I thought my mom was the only one. Haha, I don't know about people calling us, cos I'm on the internet 24/7 and no phone calls get through as a result (i'm on dial-up) But a lot of people tell my mom that they called and called, but the line was busy. :lol2: SO true.. hahhaha, everyone says that to my mom.. yeah, i was just gonna call you.. or, i thought about calling you, but didn't get the chance... something along those lines.. ugh, i hate it when people do that..

OK, like, I've been off the internet all day today cos my mom wants to make phone calls to like every single person in my family tree lol, cos it's "amot" if you don't call and wish them a happy new year... what's that all about??!?! is it like an Armenian custom or what?!? cos none of the people my mom calls have called us on such occasions.. it's annoyingggggggggggggg. not cos i'm off the internet or anything like that, just that it's so pointless.. i mean yeah yeah, it's a new year and all that, but to call every friggin person in the family line (even those who you never talk to), in like 10 different countries is just weird.. does anyone have that problem (not necessarily the part with the internet), but do your parents call people in like 10 different countries to wish them a happy new year, or am i the only one who has a weird mom? lol is it an Armenian custom??!?!?!?!?!
