Ireland N10?!?

Albania N65?!?

Thats what I call perverted sense of humor! I wonder if any of those that worked on this ranking ever visited Albania. And in Ireland one needs to walk around with bullet proof vest in order to continue enjoy the human develpment index.

This not just per capita income, it is much more than that, literacy for example. Of course it is not a perfect index, as none are, almost by definition. I do agree with Armat about Cuba, but Gamavor is probably mistaking Northern Ireland for Ireland. Edited by Boghos

Well, yes partly probably, but Ireland experienced economical growth in the recent 10 years and more so prior to becoming EU member, but I doubt that this trend was to extend to surpass Britain, Finland, Swiss, etc... I think it is exaggerated. Per capita income in Ireland is still not on par with those generated in Germany and Britain. It would be more accurate to place Ireland somewhere between Portugal and Spain.

Boghos, my friend you missed big time! You know what I'm talking about. I will open a special thread about the games and the parties.

way back about year ago or so, there was a program on 60 minutes about Ireland and how much of a model country it became as rapid development such as software development and high tech sector it ranks if I'm correct 2nd in the world next to India.

I often think of Ireland and Armenia two nations had there share of hardship, one from Turkish oppression, and the other from British, and Armenia very much could end up like present Ireland some day in near future, I hope.

For some 40 years ago Irish used to go to England much like Mexicans who come to US for low paid jobs, now days it’s English who “invade” Ireland in an Ironic twist to work at those same low paying jobs. Well some day I hope Armenia will resemble Ireland, I admire this country very much

Ireland is one of my favorite countries. I was there 2-3 years ago and it was WONDERFUL. People were super nice, country is beautiful and I was there work related and the work force(high tech) was brilliant.

You can´t begin to think how sad I was for not being able to attend. Let the news flow...I was even going to at least talk to you but you know one things leads to another and when you see it , it is too late. Sorry.

Interesting. If Turkey can apply for EU membership, then so can Armenia. Application and Accession are two different things. I am surprised about Georgia though. I didn't think that they were in such a bad situation. They might improve after they started to solve their minority problems, which are dragging them down.

Then should we assume that a Georgian created the list and they like us now? :)

Must be based on something rigth? Some valid data? I know that WIKI is not so credibe, but still...

Accordingly, UNICEF's 2004 calculation was coupled with calculation value of 99.00%.

Here is the latest UNDP report.
