Sip
UCLA Students Win Over Industry Experts at Student Conference When Sevan Megerian mentioned that his research in transverse jet control could be applied to NASA's ultra-high-speed scramjet aircraft, the judges seated before him leaned forward with great concentration, some nodding their heads. "That really caught their attention," said Megerian, a second-year graduate student in aerospace engineering. "They weren't interested in lines on a chart. They were more interested in applications." That may have been the moment when the UCLA master's student secured his first-place finish at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Region VI student conference, held in April at UCLA. The conference, organized by the UCLA student chapter of AIAA, brought together more than 70 students and faculty advisors from the western United States, in addition to local industry representatives. ... Megerian's work could lead to improvements in engine efficiency and reduced emissions for most types of aircraft - including NASA's X-43A scramjet. ... http://s93725736.onlinehome.us/Sip/hf/sevan.jpg Aerospace graduate student Sevan Megerian studies pulsed or acoustically excited transverse jet at UCLA. Sip
By the way, Sevan's advisor is professor Ann Karagozian in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UCLA. Congrats to both for an excellent job!

Azat
Congratulations to Sevan and to your parents Sepahnchik. They have done great. You guys make all of us proud. Was he not a member of HF at one time? Tell us the truth Sip, did he take all your exams and do all your homework?
Sip
Tell us the truth Sip, did he take all your exams and do all your homework? Azat, I would admit but I never did any homework "Traverse jet flow, eh?" Oh blah ... it's not like it's rocket science ... oh wait, I guess it is! NERD! And no Sevan wasn't a member. The one that showed up at some point was Saro, the other turkey who's 10 years younger than me ... he just signed up to show off how he could solve the puzzles in that math thread that I couldn't

DominO123
Sip, one of these days you have to tell us your family secret. I suppose that you guys eat a lot of oily fish containing high concentration of omega 3, which as a result made all of you super smart idiots. OK, the last word was a joke. gamavor
Sip, I do not know what is "transverse jet control"! To me, it sounds as something illegal. Anyway, since Sevan was commended for his work and science all I can hope for is an invitation for a Nobel Prize party. PS: I'll bring the cheerleaders
Azat
Gamavor jan, I have to personally sample the pretty cheerleaders to make sure they do not hurt Sevan in any way.
