What ganres, what authors, etc? I am curious...Almost any genre, except for biographies, unless it's someone I really wanna know about... Â I read a lot of satire - Kurt Vonnegut, anyone? I also read a lot of Victorian novels, as I'm an English Lit. major and I gotta read those for my courses... hmm.. Â I rarely read plays... I've been reading a lot of poetry recently, particularly WWI poetry (and novels too..) Â I like philosophical books/novels, like Balzac, Zola, etc. I recently read Germinal and Old Goriot, which were friggin amazing. Â Right now I'm reading Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five or the Children's Crusade. I have Bluebeard (Vonnegut again) next on my list - it's the "autobiography" of an Armenian guy.. Â As long as it's not another Hemingway book, I would read it. I hate Hemingway's style. He has no clue whatsoever about commas. Â Uhh, so yeah, mostly novels. Oh my, I just noticed this after posting the other one.... I hate Hemingway's style. He uses "and" so much I wanna kick him while reading it. Â If you read this play by Dario Fo called "Accidental Death of An Anarchist" you will maybe start to read plays. That play is just hilarious. I only read it from a collection of Dario Fo's work but if I ever hear it is being performed I think I will go to my first play ever(outside of school, where I was forced to see plays on school trips). The play makes a mockery of the Italian authorities because they are corrupt. The Italian authorities often to discredit revolutionaries would have policemen undercover pretending to be anarchists and such and this play makes a brilliant mockery of the situation, a true masterwork. But I do have some favorites ~ Eudipus The King, Always Running, Snow Falling On Cedars, Jane Eyere  Have you guys read "Pride and Prejudice?" Why is everyone so obsessed with that book? Aye, indeed it was. but it did have some very general philosophical and satirical elements to it, like the money tree heh.. I don't know, it was a weird book, and I liked it, but I think I liked Mother Night better. Or at least the plot. I'm reading Hitler's War right now, and at the same time am reading 2 other books, The Loved One by Evelyn Waugh and Parade's End by Ford Madox Ford. Dan Posted January 23, 2004 Report Share Posted January 23, 2004 (edited) I keep the Pocket Criminal Code of Canada in my backpack at all times, you never know when you get arrested for no reason at all, that way you can be able to make sure that you haven't done anything wrong. It's worked for me. And I do read it from time to time. It's very interesting, and it's good to know the laws of the country you're living in lol.. Â edit: sev-mard, lol, i like your avatar..
