Domino yes you do, I'm pretty sure on this, I was there in august and if I'm not mistaken there is a public channel access to Vermont’s PBS. I forgot the exact name of it but I’ll ask. DominO123
Are you sure? You know, I've become a dumb in everything concerning naming TV stations, I rarly watch TV now, other than the news and some movies some times.

ED
You understood correctly Domino What I was referring to was, wile I was staying in Montreal I was able to watch PBS, NOVA, on regular TV broadcasts, to be exact, WETK-DT ->PBS-VPT - Burlington (Chittenden) VT
armo#1
SasunYou are going to ask people proof in God existence, but i doubt you can find the proof because everyone of us percive God topic from our perspectives we look at the things from our points of views. The only proof is read the bible. One more thing Do you see energy? No!! but can you feel the power of energy YES! what i am saying is you can have light at home warm your kids up with the same energy and so on. I dont think any one of us can proof his existence but you can have faith in your heart and by having that faith toward the god you will feel his power. God exists and if you seek for him you will find him.

Sasun
Not a problem Armo jan. I don't think I can ever find a satisfactory proof, but I wouldn't spend too much time on it because as I have mentioned before in this thread, the person who asked for this exact proof will find reasons doubting it. That is the bizarre nature of human mind. So why bother

I did understand your point. I was talking about others that I have encountered and the generally accepted argument of lack of proof. "The person" that I mentioned was not about you, it is the anonymous person... sorry about the confusion that was not the best way to explain. Sasun
Domino, here is one of my doubts about your model. You are saying that mathematically, 1+(-1)=0 and 0=1+(-1) are equally true. Then you are saying because of that 1 and -1 could come into existence out of 0 (essentially nothing). Correct? If you agree so far, I want to remind you something from physics which I think is known as time-invariance (maybe some other name, I forget). An example of what I mean is this. If you mix one bucket of hot water with one bucket of cold water, let's say after 5 minutes you will get 2 buckets of warm water. It is all explained by mathematical equations why this happens. But if you mix 2 buckets of warm water and wait for 5 minutes, you will not get one bucket of cold water and one bucket of hot water, although mathematically it should work. You know what I mean? ( I think in this case they say that it is not time-invariant)

Sip
Have ya'll seen John Edwards and others communicate with spirits of the dead? Is this true? If so, what does it prove? Who is John Edwards and what the heck is a "spirit" of the dead? Sasun, our example about hot and cold ... not sure if it "time invariance" is the explanation or just entropy. Sasun
Who is John Edwards and what the heck is a "spirit" of the dead? I have seen him on CNN, he seemed like a fraud to me but can't be too sure. Sasun, our example about hot and cold ... not sure if it "time invariance" is the explanation or just entropy. Sip, yes the reason is entropy in this case. In general some physical processes can be reversable and some non-reversable. Another example is the conversion of energy: if you hammer a pieace of metal to a certain degree it will emit temperature. But you can't reverse the process exactly the same way (that is to heat the metal trying to produce mechanical strikes), although mathematically there is no problem of it happening. There are some good examples in mechanics but I don't remember right now.
DominO123
( I think in this case they say that it is not time-invariant)Wrong, you are mixing entropy with inflationism, they are both entirly different thing. Inflationism is when from nothingless, there is a bubble infinitly small that is created. The reason why your example is different, is because when you have an infinitly small sizes, you are in the domaine where the limit is "0" in that small reality, everything is undeterminated, while in the cases of entropy, the heat and the cold are defined and determinated realities. Another point is that have in mind, that entropy exist in the arrow on time, while in the cases of inflation, time stop it, while in one cases, time is the its(entropy), starting point, in the other cases time is its(inflationism) the ending point. So, your questioning of how from 0 there must be a 1 and a -1 is irrelevent. Once the process is started, and that space has been created, entropy exist, but not when space still is not determinate, when it isen't, mathematic can't explain it... what I mean, is that what ever a bubble will be created, it will follow a mathematical reality, not before, and this is the biggest misteries of all for me... it is like mathematic is writen somewhere, and no matter what, it will be created identitically in any Universes... what I mean, is that mathematic is the only unvariable thing, it does not change because of the observator and the observer, it is there, no matter in which Universe you are. This is a compleat mistery, I mean, how come from nothingless, after an inflation, a Universe is created, it will no matter what be a Universe where foundamental mathematic will still be true. I am surprised that many take mathematic like a banal thing, when it is so perfect, so pure, so Universal...Mathematic is God Edited November 6, 2003 by Fadix
Stormig
Proof of God, what do I need?Him speaking to me, a miracle or two, would suffice... Why can't he get off his high chair and talk to us in person instead of appointing secretaries a.k.a. prophets and expect us to remember eons later that these secretaries said we couldn't see him until our lives were over? Sasun
Domino, I am not talking about entropy, entropy is only one example. There is a more fundamental thing that not all processes can go both ways unlike mathematical equations. From that experience we can say that even if something is mathematically possible is not necessarily a real thing. I am trying to make the point that just because 0 could mean 1 plus -1 doesn't mean that from nothingness things can come forward, although it is possible. It may or maynot be true. Yet you are so convinced. Where is the proof that it can happen? Even string theory is just a theory. Your theory is outstretching string theory. In mathematical words: for something to be true and real it is necesary but not sufficient that it obeys mathematics. Am I more clear now? Sasun
Why can't he get off his high chair and talk to us in person Because he has no high chair and is not a person. This is a very simplistic and unjustified complaint
