angel4hope
i havent reallybeen in love with someone- and if i was-- i think id still be with the person- because if we are talking about "love" here and not "lust" then i think no matter what if youre in love with soemone ull go out of your way 2 do anything 4 them just 2 put a smile on their face or make them happy-fight all odds together--and i think ud still be 2gether---i dunno bout 1st love--sounds weird-because usually its hard to determine between love and lust when ur young-and usually pple fall in "love" when they're in their teens- or so they think-but each case is different-one cant overgeneralize-but in my terms i cant really say that i was ever in love- i might have had a crush on someone or thought i loved them, when there wasnt really anything between us-because when your young(er) and in ur teen years u have all these weird -never before felt feelings u cant describe and u choose to call it love because u know no different--anyway ---hehe im confuzin u guys riight?!- well thats ME! angel4hope
i dont view it as a magical and divine thing- im quite a realist to be honest-i might not seem like it but---anyway-- im not talking about the fairy tale romance crap it doesnt exist- im trying to say that- life brings alotta shitt and when you have someone to help you get through it and someone whose by your side and you go throught thing together and learn alot from eachother and have feleings for one another and i think that would be "love" different pple have different circumstances and notions of love- but i think that i depends on who you are and what you expect love to be....some aspects may be due to physical attraction and hormonal secretions or what not- but it is usually due other factors such as similarities in views/thoughts/feleings/likes-dislikes...etc. proximity- how much you see the person and how far you are from them and many other factors... Sasun
Actually there is romance in the true sense of the word, and those who are in would say that it is magical
hyebruin
Why is it that some view love like some sort of magical devine thing, like you just do here? because it IS magical and it IS a miracle!! it might only come by once in a lifetime! twice if your luck smiles on you! it is not lust nor attraction, though it might start out that way...it's the smile that spreads all over your face and body and makes your heart sing and makes your soul rejoice and laugh and makes you feel like a carefree child again...it is God's gift to humanity and is not defined by valentine's day, a huge engagement rock or a fancy honeymoon...it is the euphoria of just being with that person and shutting out the rest of the world...now, do you see? THOTH
Domino - I don't know if it is just semantics - with you having a narrow definaition of "magical"....or if you just don't get it....
DominO123
Domino - I don't know if it is just semantics - with you having a narrow definaition of "magical"....or if you just don't get it.... If that is a cases, I can very well say that love is a radio, I can expend the definition of each words to mean nothing. And again, how is it that you find love magical, when it is only for the person in love, and that on the other hand, you don't find anything magical on someone believing in a particular religion, a someone finding that so magical? Also, why is it that you are so concentrated in this particular forum, when its bases are a particular feeling of devotion of the same sort as someone having devotion for his religion. To saw the truth, I really don't get it. Tell me what is so magical about love, and not other such feelinngs? Tell what ever you want, but please be constant. THOTH
Domino - if you or amyone else gets of on religion - soem religious devotion oor what have you - then more power to you (as long as your not harming anyone etc...and even better if it means that you undertake good deeds for others etc)....ansd sure - I know folks who achieve bliss etc through their religion (and I mean specific states of as well as in general)...and thats fine?OK - though I do find it somewhat contrived IMO (its a sort of self hypnosis)...well love may be very similar - but it is one on one immediate - intense caring for another (a real flesh & blood person), about another...and (as you often point out) it is biological/chemical and thus not contived/ultimatly pointless/about something truly unknowable (beyond) just a feel good). I know I'm not doing a good job with this now...but I'm somewhat tired and not feeling so well. Pehraps HyeBruin can be more eloquent - as she was earlier....but you feel love and would know what I'm talking about if you were (ever) in love...etc...and if you haven't been...well - certainly you are young and there is time - but its really soemthing not to be missed in life...and IMO - its a perferable state to be in throughout ones life (though certainly comes with certain stresses etc...LOL)
hyebruin
sorry Domino, i have no clue what you're talking about ...you canNOT rationalize love, and that is exactly what you're trying to do!!...usually people who hold that view are either devoid of any emotion (i'm not saying you!!) and incapable of close intimate relations (physical, emotional, spiritual) OR they have been so badly scarred and rejected and are terrified of getting hurt again, that they just shut everything out!!!....i'm hoping neither is the case with you... ....and that you perhaps have not really come across the girl who'll do it for you..yet!! DominO123
Thoth, you were unable to be convincing here, I hope you do realise. hyebruin, just one question. You said in this thread that you have memories of loves, why are you not with the person you love. You broke up? Why so? Of course, you don't have to answer here if you don't want to. But after your answer, I will be able to explain you what I mean, not before.
hyebruin
as sad as it may be, having experienced love is sweeter in the end than the bitterness of the reality of losing that love or never having known love....how sad and lonely this world would be if for the fear of heartbreak none of us chose to give, share, and receive....that's like saying 'why live and strive and achieve? we're all going to end up dead anyways????'...hope that clears things up!!...~~after the rain, sunshine will follow~~
Sip
....how sad and lonely this world would be if for the fear of heartbreak none of us chose to give, share, and receive. I disagree. It could be lonely but doesn't have to be sad. Lonliness does not always imply sadness as many falsely believe.
hyebruin
you say that now sip! but once you get old, even YOU would eventually want to be with someone even if it's just for the companionship...computers cannot embrace and love and care for people...only people can love people! Sip
Again I disagree. I think it has to do with how complete one feels. If there is a "void" in one's life, sure, loneliness can be the source of great sadness. But if there is no void, then loneliness will just be loneliness. Of course I can't say what will be in the future. So about future, your guess about me is as good as mine. I can only base my conclusions based on the last 27 years. Sasun
I disagree. It could be lonely but doesn't have to be sad. Lonliness does not always imply sadness as many falsely believe. I hear you. Sometimes I am the happiest when I am lonely. Actually that includes also computers Sometimes my computer bothers me so I prefer to stay just lonely without even a computer
Sip
By the way, for the record, my computers are just tools to me. Extensions of my own body if you will. I don't have any particular feelings about them that I wouldn't have for different parts of my body or other tools I may use during the day like a hamer, a knife, or a wrench. THOTH
Sip (& Domino) - OK - if it works for you fine...and Sip your right - being alone or what not - doesn't have to equate to loneliness...just hope that if & when it does you haven't lost the ability to do something about it...and in some ways thats what casual or shorter term etc relationships can be about - teaching one how to care about another and not just oneself...because if there would come a time where you would want/feel the need for companionship...you may not know how to find it and finding it you maynot know how to act (towards nother person) to keep it etc...not saying that this will be true - but its a possibility...and Domino - sorry if I couldn't convince - but I think what "bruin is saying is true - its not something that can easily be rationalized - you must feel it...and if you don't well - perhaps it isn't for you (yet?)....hope for your sake that you are able and get the oppurtunity to feel such though....its a feeling not to be missed in life I think...
