Was Jesus A Historical Person?

It seems these "books" you mention disregarded the work of Lapide.

He has written one book on the subject. How can one book weigh up to all the others?

Yes, Pius XII probably saved some Jews. But how many did he send to certain death? Not everything is black and white you know.

Obviously some apologetic Jew, whose motives are as transparant as a pornstar's nightgown, has influenced you greatly.

Ah that's a TRICK question!!!! I know the answer: From the empty tomb we can conclude that the tomb is empty.  :)

Now I guess next question will be what we suppose may have happened to make the tomb empty.

Such profoundness and a superb display of deductive reasoning.

According to this one man Jesus existed and he had the privilege of actually seeing him.

Set the record straight

I didn’t see Him in his traditional garments; instead I saw Him sitting in a wheelchair with a blanket over His legs. There was suppose to be an elderly man sitting there, but instead it was the Lord. As I looked across the room, all I could see was Jesus. I saw Jesus in the place of all the people. He wore a nurse’s uniform. He sat in a chair where there was a lady supposed to have sat. I could not see anyone’s face. I only saw the Lord.

The Bible says that He was beaten beyond recognition. So I didn’t recognize Jesus in the shroud. I even told people that it wasn’t Jesus; it did not remind me of my vision. But when I saw the enhanced portrait of what the man in the shroud would have looked like before the beating, I said to myself, "That’s the man I saw. That’s Jesus."

Wow...

In the Balkans the Ustashe fascists were aided by the Catholic Church with Vatican approval. After WWII the Catholic Church helped many Nazis escape.

And in more recent developments, they have build alliances with....Moslems against the Serbs. I don’t count the “humanitarian bombing” of Yugoslavia by the Americans, because I never regarded them as Christians. Any surprises? Immediately after the Balkan War, Bulgarian orthodox Christians turned their backs to their Balkan neighbors and made an alliance with...the same old Turks, that enslave them for 5 centuries. Go figure!

The Victors have the right to play with history. The defeated are always the ones that were cruel, unjust, etc... Look at the Armenian Genocide denial. Even Her Highness the British Ambassador in Yerevan is kind of hesitant to call the Spade a Spade.

So what was the original topic? Was Jesus historical person? Does anybody care?

I know, some do for very pragmatic reasons.

PS: I wonder will we ever learn to play the Game! Weren’t We the ones regarded as the Jews of the East, or we will continue being the sheep?

The

Italian people, and many indivual priests and nuns of Italy, helped save many Italian Jews. Even Mussinlini did not want to participate with Hitler on the Jews. Italy has one of, if not the oldest Jewish community in the world. There are many stories about the role of the Vatican, I have no idea nor care personally about the Pope's involvement or non involvement. I am more appreciative of the Italian people and individual churches and leadres for their support.

Jews of the East? When Armos get together, as I have noted at Armo socials I attend, they gossip and carry on like Jews, but are a bit more warm towards each other. It is to be commended. You'all come off much nicer in person than on this board..probably because I meet mostly those in America..the normal {REAL ARMOS!..lol}ones..lol...YidKid

Jewish Friend,

The Armos being Jews of the East was a label given to us exemplifying our resourcefulness, smartness and aptitude for business. The same label was given to the Dutch, as the Jews of the West for the same reasons.

However coming out from my mouth, "Armenians being the Jews of the East", should be interpreted as a compliment for the intelligent Hebrews. :)

As far as what Jesus looks like, the earliest pictures of him were blond hair and blue eyed derived from the Sun God Apollo.

As Christianity moved upward the Germanic Barbarians, you had darker depictions of Jesus in art from the Northern Renaissance for example.

Since there is little to no evidence of Jesus existing, outside of the gospels, and since they don't talk about what he looked like, there is no way of knowing.

Agreed, way to speak truth about it. The idea that someone with long hair and beard looks like Jesus are flawed in the sense that those pictures all beckon back to an original print that was commisioned to look a certain way.

I don't think so :) Communists are materialists and don't believe in God. Jesus is in no way a materialist. The only thing he has said that has any relevance to economy is for rich people to give their property to the poor and needy, and follow him.

But he did believe that all people should have equal means and there should be no difference between rich and poor. To achieve this, he would have to take all money and distribute it evenly, thus communism.
