Dan
Well, I'm not a frequent cinema-goer, but I do like movies a lot (that sounds so cheesy, i know), so yeah, my review is not about new movies, but thought about mentioning a coupla good ones that are old but worth being checked out IMO: Movie:Gangs of New York Score: 9+ Wow @ that movie.. simply breathtaking - I'm not into the "famous/great" movies thing, but this one is just BEAUTIFUL... Movie: Sweet Home Alabama Score: 7- Not sure if people would agree with me on the rating for this one - but I thought it was a pretty decent movie... Accelerated
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Pros: Breathtaking battle scenes with well animated mosters (trolls/mamoths). The ghost army attack! the elf guys single-handedly taking out a mamoth with its crew. Basically everything to do with the major battle Cons: too long, to the point of being exhausting.....almost 3 1/2 hours and nothing happening untill 90 mins into the movie. Cheesy ending. The fact that the guy playing Gandalf (the Grey wizard) is a homosexual whose boyfriend is a 22 year old playboy.....enough said. Verdict: would have scored higher if it was an hour shorter! 8/

gurgen
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 3/10 Let's sum up what sucks about this movie: 1. Tolkien's story was raped completely (Since when does Frodo tell Sam to fk off? I thought their friendship was one of the most powerful symbolic messages in the book?) And where the hell did the ending go? 2. The acting is total crap. When you have a lot of dramatic scenes, you should try to get actors who can actually play drama. When Elijah Wood is crying it's like he's suffering from Parkison or something. 3. The movie has some nice shots, unfortunately the rest of it makes you forget it immediately. 4. Once again, Arwen fills to much screentime. I understand Peter Jackson wants horny 14 year old boys to come to the cinema, but is goes at the cost of the quality of the movie. Once again we learn an important lesson: graphics make a good First Person Shooter, good acting makes a good film. The fact that this movie is currently #4 at www.imdb.com makes me worried about the average world intelligence level

gurgen
But saying that graphics make a good movie does. So does voting 10 for RotK. Hye_Acher
In-America Rating----0 I regret wasting my time, energy and money on such useless, worthless and boring movie… What was the point only director and the producer knows….i would never-ever recommend such movie to anyone…. Mona Lisa Smile Rating---2-3 I personally didn’t like it that much so I probably wouldn’t recommend..

In the contrary, I thought that the Hobbits' part was very dramatic and convincing.

Read this and you will know what I mean: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068646/board/nest/5181379 It was a very good general movie. Giving it 3/10 is unjust, you can not expect from the actors to be perfect on everything... the movie was too heavy, and it did very well considering the amount of material there was to watch. THOTH
gurgen - I must disagree - LOtRs was a masterful movie. And though I do take issue with some interpretations and choices made vis a vis the original books - overall I think Jackson did a fine job of it.
