Sip
You should always try to talk a speeding ticket down to a seat belt ticket. I doesn't count as a moving violation so it won't add as a point to the driving record like a speeding ticket, stop sign ticket, or red-light ticket would. The most I have gotten is reducing from a 6 point speeding violation to a 2 point moving violation at the court, they would not give a no point violation. sev-mard
I don't try and talk down nothing. I'm just trying to get my sev vorik out of there without being beaten up by Burbank/North Hollywood PD! lol

THOTH
An aunt-in-law of someone very close to me passed away this weekend. Went over the side of the freeway, no seatbelt. Could have been prevented. Say a prayer for her, and please wear your seatbelts, they truly do work people. Truly sorry to hear this Sev-Marde...something potentially very preventable...much like us humans ignoring immenent environmental catastrophes...seat belts really are a must - its very obvious when you are travelling at such velocites and stop suddenly on impact & such and have all sorts of glass & metal around you...etc That being said I do know of someone who was saved by not wearing a seatbelt - he was in a little MG that got crushed by a truck and he got thrown out with minor injuries - certainly an exception to the rule... And at a party a few weeks back I met this guy who was driving a way cool model A (ZZ top like) roadster who told the story how he hit a cop that went through a red light in front of him (with no lights flashing or siren) and he went through his front winshield (belts? don't know - sounds like not - but I noticed a 4 point racing harnes on his recaros...)...anyway he flew through the front windshield and into the cop car and was "saved" by the cops airbag!!...he was still majorly messed up from the accident (many many months ago?)...he had recently just rebuilt his roadster however...way cool.. Anyway Sev Marde - hope you and yours are coping OK - what can be done? And yes - eveyone should always where their seatbelts - I insist that my passengers do and I wear them myself always... Sasun
I hate to say I told you so This is the irony of fate that I missed that as my ticket was just a few days after your post. Had I read it, I would probably remember to wear my seatbelt, and would not have gotten the ticket, and would not have to part with my money, and would not be posting here about that ticket, and would not have a negative daily impression, and would not be thinking about pitfalls of life. You would not be suggesting the point reducing mechanism, Sev-Mard would not be lead to elaborating about his sev butt and PD abuse, I would not be led to compose a meaningless post... life would be quite different
Accelerated
With my mum away on vacation, and me taking over the cooking duties - I think I have gotten myself addicted to 2-minute noodles - I just cant get enough of the stuff! Stormig
The ready-steady-go stuff has a bunch of chemicals in them, some of which enhance flavour or your appetite or something. Instead, cook pasta for ten minutes and eat it with yoghurt and garlic. On a side note, today I realised how much like my grandmother I am. Too much to not be scary. Then again it could mean I might have good memory into old age.
