sev-mard
True introspection and investigation into the inner workings of self is the only way to be truly wise. Understanding the true mechanics and inner workings of self, allows one to see the world in a much more clear, rational and realistic fashion. This will also allow one to see "through" and into other humans, who are living lies of their own, because of a lack of self knowledge. I say this not to attack these people, but it allow you to easier "socially navigate" when the motives of others are clear to you, because you are aware of the game of "self delusion." Of course true knowledge of self and the results of self introspection shake the average man more so than thoughs of Death. And it is because of the lack of true self knowledge that the world is in the state it is in today.

Sip
Sip, is everything all right? You didn't get hurt? I'm fine ... thanks for asking I did wear my seat belt as usual ... I'll be posting pics slowly from the latest trip as I have a few more days to go still until I get back to a good connection. Look for some teaser pics in the sports and recreation section. sev-mard
I jokingly say this as an adjunct to a conversation I've had before about the web as a means for self expression without boundaries. I think i'm more interesting in person, as I don't try and do too much on the Web. I think people can act so many different ways online due to the anonominty of it, a friend and I were just musing as to how interesting in real life, interesting online friends would be. I think me, stormy a bunch a friends and a cup of surtsh could be quite interesting, lol.

Harut
for a long time now, i have wanted to write a book and name it Human Nature: The Enduring Paralysis of The Thought Process. For last few months, the inclination to write such book is stronger than ever.
Stormig
Still marvelling that a few weeks ago, I actually saw an Inuit. It was the occasion of a field trip, and you had a bunch of people from different professions, among them biologists, forestry folks, even ornithologists (I think the Inuit might have been one of them). This Inuit person was not your typical Eskimo - not as you would have imagined. I'm inclined to think most of us have this image of Alaskan Native Americans as short and stocky, but if I hadn't been corrected, I would have thought he was Malaysian - he was so tall and so skinny!!! I didn't get to go up to talk to him and sate my curiosity, as this was a semi-formal event.
Azat
Everything is blurry. I woke up today and everything is blurry. for real. It is as if I developed cataracts over night. I can't seem to focus on small objects. mom always told me that I may go blind if I... oh never mind why am I joking about this. I am a bit scared. Hope things get clear as the day goes by. Stormig
Hope your eyes get well, Azaty Poo. I had a very stressful period in my life when about 14, and it apparently affected my vision, too (and I was head-achey as well) - so when they took me to the ophthalmologist, he gave me eye-glasses of degree N which was one more than what would have been if I had been having more normal days. The next eye-check, my glasses had to be readjusted to a lower number. But do see a doctor soon.

Azat - go see a doctor right away. It could be somethign temporary though - and hopefully it is. A bunch of years ago I walked out my front door and sort of looked into the sun a bit and I had this spot that woulnd't go away - turned out I had (have) a whole right in the middle of my retina of one eye - think it was caused by an earlier vollyball incident (I took a spike to the head which crumples my glasse up - etc) - to make a long story short I had impared vision and it was pretty nasty. The retina specialist (who normally treats pro atheletes who develop vision problems from contact) I went too was great - he took a wait and see attitude - as surgery would guarantee my vision would be even worse - ended up my brain corrected for the problem - and it stopped getting owrse (blood vessels which had formed around it withered luckily). He said it was a one in a million injury and a one and a million recovery. I do occasionally have problems though - when I am under intense stress. A few years ago - with the death of my father the problem returned - big time - but the specialist dsaid it was no worse - just the stress affected my brains abiliity to process...maybe you are going through something similar (my problem manifested itself a few weeks after...) - anyway hope it turns out OK and hope all is well with you... Azat
Thanks Winston and Stormy. I am much better now. The blurry vision was gone after an hour or so, but I had a horrible headache all day. Got my blood pressure checked and it was very high(for me), but today I am all normal. Well as normal as Azat ever gets to be.

sev-mard
An aunt-in-law of someone very close to me passed away this weekend. Went over the side of the freeway, no seatbelt. Could have been prevented. Say a prayer for her, and please wear your seatbelts, they truly do work people.
