Sip
Azat, you definitely need one of these. Heck the oven will even refrigirate your food for you!!!!
vava
Internet SUCKS. because of the internet I burned the dinner yet again. or maybe it was not the internet but my age. Don't cook & surf at the same time my friend. Or rather, I should don't cook and surf and drink! at the same time! Hope it wasn't too bad. Speaking of dinner, I have to get the stew in the oven. I have grown to LOVE our cast iron 'cocotte' - the english name is eluding me at the moment. But it's awesome - you brown the meat, put your stew ingredients together, and let it sit in the over for 4 hours..... and YUMMY Comfort winter food at it's best. EDIT: BTW tonight it's duck & chicken stew with barley & sweet potato. Edited February 25, 2006 by vava
Sip
While we're on the subject, I have gotten really good at making "fesenjan". For those of you who are barska-hye challenged, it is made either with duck or chicken (I use chicken) and pomegranate molases and lots of walnuts (powdered). ExtraHye
Well you can't just say this and get away with it Sip. When are you going to invite all the forum members for dinner that way we could all taste it. Edit: With chicken please. vava
Edit: With chicken please. It's almost always better with Duck - but chicken is really good, that's how I usually make mine. But I don'T power the walnuts. I crush them, but leave them a bit chunky (for more texture). Good stuff Sip You've come a long way from your 80% ketchup diet. vava
I suppose that's it. Mine doesn't have little "feet" and it's cast iron but coated with an enamel. It looks just like this pic - has a capacity of 9L (a little over 9qt, for you imperial types). I've always called it a cocotte. I wonder why the French would make a "Dutch" oven. Azat
Actually the one I have is exactly like the one you have in the pic. same color too and it is French
