CCAF HEAD: TURKISH THREATS AGAINST FRANCE INADMISSIBLE

PanARMENIAN.Net

August 31, 2012 - 13:48 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey's EU Minister Egemen Baðýþ' response to

France's decision to include a chapter about the Armenian Genocide

in secondary school textbooks proves Turkish government's intention

to continue denial policy, head of Co-ordination Council of Armenian

Organizations of France (CCAF) said.

As Mourad Papazian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, Turkey will

run counter to France at international level, if President Francois

Hollande signs the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial.

"Turkish threats against France are unacceptable. We take steps that

will counter mean tricks to deny the Genocide. We launch campaigns to

unmask Turkey, which perpetrated the arrest of hundreds of journalists,

lawyers, trade unionists and students. Truth will win in the end,"

Mr. Papazian said.

Official Ankara has voiced a "strong protest" against France's decision

to include a chapter about the Armenian Genocide in secondary school

textbooks.

Turkey's EU Minister and chief negotiator Egemen Baðýþ has urged Paris

"against testing bilateral relations once again".

"I call on the French authorities to intensify efforts in resolving

the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in the framework of OSCE Minsk Group

rather than distort the historical facts," he said.

He also urged the French authorities to "face own history rather than

check-up fictitious facts."

According to earlier Turkish media reports, the French Education

Ministry has decided to include chapters about the Genocide in history

and geography textbooks by order of President Hollande.

On January 23, 2012, the French Senate passed the bill making it a

crime to deny the Armenian Genocide. The bill envisaged imposing a

45,000 euro fine and a year in prison for anyone in France who denies

this crime against humanity committed by the Ottoman Empire.

Later, the French Constitutional Council ruled that the bill as

anti-constitutional. In a statement the Council said the document

represented an "unconstitutional breach of the practice of freedom

of expression and communication."

After election, President Holande pledged to introduce a similar bill

that would go in line with the country's constitution.

Turkish Education Ministry officials said they will first need to

examine the book and see if it "includes phrases that incriminate

Turkey and they will respond in line with international law through

diplomatic channels."

ANKARA GETS ANOTHER "SURPRISE" FROM FRANCE

PanARMENIAN.Net

September 1, 2012

French students will hardly miss the opportunity to learn true history

of Ottoman Empire, while Ankara again compromised itself.

Poor knowledge on legislation and governmental system of other

countries played a mean trick on Turkey and, unfortunately, on Armenian

media as well. The decision of the French ministry of education,

which has nothing to do with the country's president, to include

study of the Armenian Genocide into the secondary school curriculum,

sparked a new splash of hatred towards France in Ankara.

Turkey met this move with an immediate rebuff, and this is not the

first case. The Turks seem to be just busy finding fault with the

whole world over the Armenian Genocide.

PanARMENIAN.Net - They keep nagging and grudging, send notes [of

protests] and try to intervene into internal affairs of France,

Switzerland and several other countries. Actually, Turkey's EU

Minister Egemen BagıÅ~_ has no right to demand anything from

the French ministry of education. Weakness of French ex-president

Nicolas Sarkozy who did not sign the bill criminalizing the denial

of the Armenian Genocide and sent it to the Constitutional Court

unleashed Turkey which started to believe it can impose its rules of

game. Furthermore, BagıÅ~_ claimed no other country in the world

can boast a history as simple and transparent as Turkey's."Turkey

does not know what Genocide is; Turks take pride in their history

and ancestors," he said. Indeed, the Ottoman Empire based on other

concepts - deportation, the way to nowhere, annihilation of Christian

nations of the empire, especially the Armenians. The minister should

have been reminded of the fact that the modern Turkish republic was

built on bones and money of the Armenians.

Now, lets' get back to the Turkish minister who has urged Paris

against testing bilateral relations once again. "I call on the French

authorities to intensify efforts in resolving the Nagorno Karabakh

conflict in the framework of OSCE Minsk Group rather than distort

the historical facts," Hurriyet Daily News quotes BagıÅ~_ as saying.

He also urged the French government to "face own history rather than

check-up fictitious facts." This was an obvious blunder by the Turkish

official, of course.

France equally mentions both the bloody pages of its history and its

victories. No one in France ever denies the massacre of St.

Bartholomew's Day, brutalities of the Great French Revolution, or the

conquest of Algeria. BagıÅ~_ may be unaware of this, anyway... As

to the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, Turkey has no chance to

be ever dealing with this issue.

The most ridiculous part of this story is that Turkey, for some

reason, is addressing the French leader Hollande with an urge to

"intervene". According to the Turkish media, the decision of the

French minister of education may again have a negative impact on

the ties between France and Turkey; the latter hoped the new French

president would support restoration of contacts with Paris.

There is nothing new in the "squabble" that started between France and

Turkey back in 2001. Turkey is again trying to rehabilitate itself

through blackmail; this works with regard to U.S. and Great Britain

only, and totally fails in Europe.

The French students will hardly miss the opportunity to learn the

true history of the Ottoman Empire, while Ankara has again compromised

itself.

However, since attack is the best form of defence, Turkey rushed to

protect itself, trying hard to position its country as a "beacon of

democracy in the Islamic world". Still, this becomes increasingly

harder. No doubt, in 2015 Turkey will again deny the Armenian

Genocide. Also, this atrocity against the humanity will undoubtedly

gain recognition by many other states in the upcoming two years. So,

instead of demonstrating wishful thinking and threatening others,

Ankara will have to take more reasonable moves.

FRANCE RESPONDS TO TURKEY

news.am

September 05, 2012 | 11:43

The Turkish Embassy in France sent an official note to the country's

Education Ministry and required a review of the material, in connection

with the Armenian Genocide, which is included in France's new history

textbooks.

The Turkish note claimed that the respective information in these

textbooks is not based on scientific facts, the Turkish Samanyolu

website informs.

And the French Education Ministry responded by noting that in 2001

France formally recognized the events in 1915 as genocide, and

therefore including them in the textbooks is very normal.

"The material included in the textbooks is prepared by scientists

and editors, and, in terms of scientific genuineness, we must note

that they were studied thoroughly," the French Education Ministry's

response stated.

Jihad romance: We'd love you dearly if you converted!

BURAK BEKDİL

According to the findings of an international survey, Turks adore

themselves but not any other nation, and the world does not care much

for them overall. Yet maybe it is better this way, as `to love oneself

is the beginning of a lifelong romance,' according to Oscar Wilde; or

to quote Paul Valery `love is being stupid together.'

It looks as though the Turks have faith in a lifelong romance.

According to Transatlantic Trends, an annual survey of public opinion,

85 percent of Turks have a favorable view of their own country ' where

even ducks can be raped (`Man rapes duck in Turkish village ` Hürriyet

Daily News ` Sept. 14, 2012).

But this `un-love' for other nations is not unrequited: Only 42

percent of the EU12 and 43 percent of Americans have a favorable

opinion of Turks and Turkey.

And according to an Islamist columnist, Turkey, (post-Assad) Syria and

Libya should spearhead efforts to build an `Islamic commonwealth.'

`Those were the days,' this columnist wrote with a painful longing for

the good old days when even `non-Muslim women in Muslim lands had to

cover their heads with a scarf.'

According to another Islamist columnist the only way we can come to

love America is if the whole country converted to Islam! Simple, just

like Malcolm X did, he wrote. Sure, he promised, we shall love America

if Americans lived true Muslim lives and `therefore, they did not

kill, steal or provoked enmity.' Perhaps the Americans should consider

this generous offer if they want to be loved by the Turks and other

Muslims. Once in a love affair, the now Muslim-Americans and Turks can

be stupid together.

But being Turkish is quite a face value these days: on the Middle East

kidnapping market Turkish passports are real top value. Before the

second kidnapped Turk in Lebanon was freed, Yemeni tribesmen kidnapped

a Turkish bus driver in the country's south to push the government to

release a jailed kinsmen. At the current pace of kidnappings, the

Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs may soon have to launch a `Special

Department for the Release of Kidnapped Nationals.'

Turks may prefer to be `unhappy alone than unhappy with someone else.'

But it is sad that the famous motto we all learned at school in the

50s to the late 80s is still enjoying overwhelming popularity despite

the collapse of Kemalism: `A Turk's only friend is a Turk.' Religion

per se has failed to spark the love affair Turkish Islamists hoped it

would ignite with other Muslim nations. Apparently, Muslimness does

not suffice: Which sect are you? Which tribe are you? Do you believe

in Shariah? Are you secular? Do you shake hands with women? Why do you

have your wedding ring on your left hand? Are you an Arab Muslim or

non-Arab? Why did your ancestors enslave ours for centuries?

Perhaps more... Even Sunni Muslim Turks and Sunni Muslim Kurds are

killing each other in one of world's most violent conflicts of the

past half century. Apparently, there will be further bloodshed as long

as Turkish bigwigs believe that `a common faith' can solve this

dispute. Remember how the Turkish interior minister called the PKK

fighters a few months ago? `Oh, they are pork-eating Zoroastrians!'

And, more recently, how did a lawmaker from the ruling Justice and

Development Party refer to them? `Ah, oh, uh, these kids are Armenian

converts!'

We have no means to know if the honorable lawmaker knows things we

don't, like whether the Turkish authorities perform human skull tests

to determine the race of enemy fighters. We don't know either if that

lawmaker is equipped with a surreal talent to tell a body's ethnic

background just by looking at a photograph.

But in this age of Sunni-Muslim-Turkish supremacy, nothing should be

surprising. Dear seven billion plus inhabitants of the world: We will

love you if you convert to (Sunni) Islam and adopt Turkishness! No

deadlines, but just be smart enough not to miss this chance.

BAKU SEEKS $431,5 BN. IN "DAMAGES" FROM KARABAKH

PanARMENIAN.Net

September 25, 2012 - 16:24 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azeri Ministry of Economic development assessed the

"total damage" inflicted to Azerbaijan as a result of a so-called

Armenian "occupation," or rather, liberation of historical Armenian

lands.Azeri calculations boiled down to an astronomical sum of $431,5

bn. Azeri Ministries of Ecology and Economic Development, as well as

a State Committee on Refugee and IDPs Affairs had a hand in cooking

up the figure. Moreover, as Baku assures the damage assessment is

still in progress.

Clearly, the "assessment" came as a result of Astana-hosted

international congress of appraisers where Baku was instructed

to develop the standards of assessing the damages suffered in the

international conflict.

Moreover, calls to sue Armenia in international court for economic

damages are becoming louder in Baku.

One may suppose, the "total damages" will be growing in proportion

to the frequency of those calls.

Back in 2005, Azeri assessed a similar damage at $26,5 bn, with the

figure having magically swollen up by over 16 times in 7 years.

Obviously, Baku has finally realized that the Nagorno Karabakh Republic

will never become a part of the country propagating hatred towards

Armenian nation and bringing up a generation of axe-killers.

So, to have something to show for it, Azerbaijan, with over a $22 bn

state budget, is trying to make a market of Karabakh.

Some Azerbaijani Mass Media called the detainees as terrorists of

ASALA who allegedly penetrated into Azerbaijan to commit terrorist

acts, but the Azerbaijani special services rendered them harmless.

Former Turkish president Turgut Ozal’s body exhumed for probe

Turkish media say authorities are exhuming the body of former president Turgut Ozal for a probe into his April 1993 death in office, AP reports.

Anadolu Agency says the exhumation at an Istanbul mausoleum started early Tuesday morning. It follows an official report in June that concluded that Ozal's death was suspicious.

Family members have long claimed that Ozal might have been poisoned. His pro-Western policies helped modernize Turkey and gave the U.S.-led coalition a strategic ally during the Persian Gulf War.

Doctors at the time said Ozal, who underwent triple bypass surgery in 1987, died of heart failure. Tests will now be conducted to try to confirm the cause of death.

Shakira, who was the special guest of the FIFA U-17 Cup in Baku, has mistakenly raised the Armenian flag at the closing ceremony.

Singing at the Baku Crystial Hall, the pregnant Columbian singer held her country’s flag (yellow, blue and red) upside down, thus actually showing the Armenian flag to the Azerbaijani leadership. It is noteworthy that this happened on the stage that didn’t give any chances to Armenia at the Eurovision 2012 Song Contest.

Փոքրիկ Ադրբեջանն իրանական մոլլաների վրա է լցրել փոփ-երաժշտության հզորությունը. The Washington Post-=-

HEADLINES FROM THE CENTENNIAL! - A SEQUEL (II)

Hurriyet Daily News

Turkey

burak.bekdil@hurriyet.com.tr

Here we go with more headlines from the Istanbul press in the year

2023:

- Turkey's Supreme Islamic Scientific Committee has announced that its

scientists have successfully developed an Islamic bulb which refuses to

switch on if it senses alcohol within 25 meters. The committee said the

invention would be nominated for the Islamic Nobel prize in physics.

- A major in the Turkish Army has appealed to the European Court of

Human Rights for having been expelled from service because his wife

does not wear the Islamic headscarf. The court refused to examine

the complaint on the grounds that Turkey had ceased to be a member

of the European Council in 2019.

- A probe into the errant bombing of Diyarbakır by Turkish fighter

jets which killed 348 locals in January found that the tragedy had

happened because of an Israeli conspiracy. The Homeland Security

Department said it had arrested 26 more Israeli spies over the

past week in connection to the plot, including five wild geese,

seven dolphins, three falcons and 11 bluefish. An official said:

"All of the suspects carried special tags that read 'Israeli spy.'"

- Turkey and the outlawed PKK announced that they decided to hold

their 276th round of secret peace talks in Kingston, Jamaica. A joint

statement read: "We had been quite weary of the cold and depressing

weather in Nordic countries."

:lol2:- The Turkish Parliament released a communiqué threatening all

164 parliaments across the world that have recognized the Armenian

genocide. It said: "We will have no alternative but to resort to

fully using our global superpower capabilities in retaliation." The

only response came from Vanuatu's Parliament, which said: "We are

not afraid."

- President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has praised the new democratic

reform package in Saudi Arabia which allows women to drive if they

are accompanied by at least four male members of their families.

- Islam, the Quran and the Life of Prophet Muhammad has been introduced

as a compulsory course in all university departments. Some academics

objected that the new regulations could hinder a scientific curriculum

as a student of mechanical engineering would now have to study Islam

for more hours per week than mathematics.

- After Mey Gida, an alcoholic beverages producer, applied to the

tobacco and alcohol watchdog to obtain a license for its brand-new

product, alcohol-free rakı, a food processor has applied to the

authorities to win a license to produce pork-free bacon.

- Human rights organizations criticized the Turkish government for

systematically abusing and intimidating female government employees

who don't wear the Islamic headscarf. A spokesman for the government

replied that: "The accusations are totally baseless. On the contrary,

we think we deserve praise for trying to help the non-pious employees

find the right way and reach salvation."

- The police have reported that during the holy month of Ramadan

this year a total of 329 people across Turkey were caught red-handed

while publicly chewing gum and smoking. The police said the suspects

were arrested after having admitted guilt, although 326 of them said

they were only visiting tourists from Britain, Russia, Japan, Italy,

Spain, Canada and India. Two of the suspects were found to be Alevi

Turks and one was an Azerbaijani national.

- Ankara has threatened to take retaliatory action unless Libya,

Tunisia and Egypt agreed to take Turkey as a role model for democracy

in their respective countries.

- The Supreme Board of Moral Values has decided to ban a new list

of 26,450 books on the grounds that they could lead to a collapse

of public order. The banned books include best-sellers like "Harry

Potter and the Deathly Hallows," "The Adventures of Pinocchio,"

"Gone with the Wind," "1984," "The Godfather," "Jaws," "Don Quixote,"

"Tarzan," "Bridget Jones' Diary," as well as Bill Wilson's "Alcoholics

Anonymous Big Book," Dante's "Divine Comedy," "The Oxford Advanced

Learner's Dictionary" and Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and

AZERBAIJAN STEALS WEAPON FROM SOUTH AFRICA - ARMENIAN MOD

news.am

October 26, 2012 | 21:14

YEREVAN. - The Armenian Ministry of Defense is going to release a

video, which will denounce the so-called 'super advantage' weapon

'made in Azerbaijan' under the name of 'Istiglal.'

As a matter of fact, the Istiglal is a sort of a weapon, produced in

the South African Republic out of license, the Armenian MOD secretary

Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.

Hence, the Azerbaijani side simply stole it. However, the fact of

being out of license is not the greatest default of the weapon.

"The weapon features bad optics. Also the snipers' weapons cannot

match the machine-gun bullets," Hovhannisyan claimed.

According to some data, the 'proud' of Azerbaijani military productions

will be no longer produced due to its high level recall morbidity.

Sabiroghlu told at the press conference on the frontline in Terter:

"To prevent the aggression of the Armenian armed forces is one of

our main tasks. This moment is not far away. We can't tolerate any

more. I think that we will witness the liberation of our territories

from occupation in the near future".

Sabiroghlu underlined that Azerbaijan has done much towards

military build-up recently: "The first is armament. We purchased the

most modern weapons and can hit all the targets of the enemy with

modern weapons. The second issue is to raise fighting spirit of the

personnel. "

REPRESENTATIVE OF AZERBAIJANI MINISTRY OF DEFENCE DOESN'T HAVE BASIC MILITARY KNOWLEDGE. ARCRUN HOVHANNISYAN

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 30, ARMENPRESS: The spokesman of Azerbaijani

Ministry of Defence doesn't have basic military knowledge otherwise

he would have acknowledged that his words have nothing to do with

military work. Armenpress cited the interview with the spokesman of

Armenian Ministry of Defence Arcrun Hovhannisyan who commented on

the declaration of Eldar Sabiroglu his Azeri counterpart, according

to which Azerbaijan had such a radar station which could not only

neutralize missiles from Armenian side but also strike any object in

Armenia, thus putting the future of Armenia under the question.

"It is an unserious announcement, what does it mean cutting radar?

There is no such radar which can neutralize a missile and at the

same time make a responding blow. It's obvious that this man doesn't

have basic knowledge, the evidence of which is his announcement"

underlined Hovhannisyan.

"BIZIM YOL" QUALIFIED THE PRESS SECRETARY OF THE MINISTRY OF DEFENSE SABIROAGLU'S DECLARATION ABOUT THE STRENGTH OF AZERBAIJANI ARMY AS A FAKE

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijani newspaper "Bizim Yol"

spoke about the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Sabiroglu's

declaration about the fake strength of Azerbaijani Army. As reports

"Armenpress" the Azerbaijani newspaper states: "Eldar Sabiroglu

endangers the Ministry of Defense." In an interview to the newspaper

the Head of "Doctrine" Journalists Military Research Centre Jasur

Sumerinli stated that the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defense

Sabiroglu's declaration about the strength of Azerbaijani Army "is too

far from being true, it's an eye-wash and fake." Jasur Sumerinli said:

"If it is true, than the Ministry of Defense would be separated from

the Chief Headquarters of the Armed Forces, the Minister of Defense

would be a civilian person, civilians could serve in the Armed Forces,

neither the administration of the Ministry of Defense would be buried

in the corruption. If these all are considered to be the NATO standards

than "woe woe is NATO!"

In a conversation with "Armenpress" the Press Secretary of the

Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Artsrun Hovhannisyan

commented on the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Sabiroglu's

declaration about the strength of Azerbaijani Army and said: "This

is not serious. What does it mean a piercing radar? Such radar

does not exist in the world, which could liquidate a missile and

counterattack simultaneously. It's quite obvious that this man does

not have elementary knowledge."

From the ridiculous to the sublime.

We read in AZG Culture of 7/22/2006 .

Here it is in nutshell

First the ridiculous.

That the asszeris have decided to excavate Noah’s tomb in Nakhjavan,,,

----

Then follows the sublime from Armenian sources, that not only Noah was buried there but also his mother, his wife and his sister. That this is not only attested by Armenian writers but also by European scholars, diplomats and travelers. And that his wife’s name was Noyemzar.

-NOYEMZAR -Was the name of Noah's wife, which is in use in Armenia since XVII c.-

----

See where the name Noyemzar comes from.

Although the Book of Genesis in the Bible does not give any further information about the four women it says were aboard Noah's Ark during the Flood, there exist substantial extra-Biblical traditions regarding these women and their names
