US SLAMS ERDOGAN OVER ISRAEL, EGYPT REMARKS

11:50 21.08.13

The United States condemned comments by Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip
Erdogan accusing Israel of having a hand in the Egyptian military's
overthrow of president Mohamed Mursi, Reuters reported, citing a
White House spokesman.

"We strongly condemn the statements that were made by Prime Minister
Erdogan today. Suggesting that Israel is somehow responsible for
recent events in Egypt is offensive, unsubstantiated, and wrong,"
White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters in a briefing.

Earlier on Tuesday, Erdogan told provincial leaders of his AK Party:
"What do they say in Egypt? Democracy is not the ballot box. What is
behind it? Israel. We have in our hands documentation."

Head of ‘‘Azerbaijani Airlines’’ gives rise to scandal in restaurant and insults foreign ambassadors

An unpleasant incident took place at the hotel restaurant “Landmark” during the meeting of the representatives of Azerbaijani oppositionist National Council with the staff of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Baku.

As the site “Gunxeber.com” reports, when the meeting of oppositionists with diplomats was close to the end, Jahangir Askerov the head of "Azerbaijani Airlines" surrounded by bodyguards and foreign guests entered the restaurant. Seeing the representatives of the National Council, Askerov called the restaurant administrator and gave rise to a scandal. He rudely insulted the restaurant staff for the fact that they "had let the oppositionists in" and threatened with dismissal.

The heads of AZAL tried to explain that the opposition leaders had come to the restaurant, accompanied by ambassadors of foreign countries. However Askerov ignored justifications of the administration and again threatened them with reprisal. Moreover, the head of "Azerbaijani Airlines" allowed himself to make insulting remarks addressed to the foreign diplomats.

‘‘Azadlig’’: Have Filipinos heard about existence of newspaper which had in August announced Aliyev ‘‘Man of the Year’’?

The official newspaper of the ruling party "Yeni Azerbaijan", referring to its "reliable sources" issues information that the Philippine newspaper “Biz News Asia” has awarded the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev a "Man of the Year."

In this regard, the newspaper "Azadlig" expresses its bewilderment, how the pro-government newspaper can ignore such editions as “Washington Post”, “Spiegel”, “The New York Times” and call a Filipino newspaper edition, which is not even found by the Google search engine, "edition with a wide audience."

"Typically, these types of rates are published in late December or early January, just like in the case of footballers, actors or singers. Awarding Ilham Aliyev with the title of "Man of the Year" coincided with the pre-election period and the eighth month of the current year. They say that all haphazards are conditioned by necessity. The fact that the name of Ilham Aliyev appeared in the Philippine edition looks like a "terrible" necessity. However, it is not clear, whether this newspaper was late with announcing Ilham Aliyev a "Man of the Year" in 2013, or hurried for the 2014th," the newspaper writes.

"Thus, for 10 years he did not managed to become a "man" for the Azerbaijani people, but he became the "Man of the year" in the Philippines. Congratulations ... It’s rather interesting whether the Filipinos have heard about the existence of such a publication?" ironically concludes the Azerbaijani newspaper.

This is beyond bizarre.

Pecheneq? No, pezevek/bozavag.

I post it here under Comedistan, even though I don’t think it is funny. I am not laughing. I am laughing as to what length these comedians will go.

Stay with me. I bet you, next we will see how the Lousavorich was a turk from Kayseri.

My apologies for the length of the article. Read it and laugh. No, read it and weep. Pecheneq? No, pezevek/bozavag.

ANKARA: Let's Meet At The Pecheneq Monument On September 8th

From: Katia Peltekian <kpeltekian@gmail.com>

LET'S MEET AT THE PECHENEQ MONUMENT ON SEPTEMBER 8TH

Radikal, Turkey

Sept 1 2013

Baskin Oran

[Traslated from Turkish by Nurhan Becidyan]

Remember the Van Akhtamar Church which was going to be demolished in

1951 and which later in 2007 was restored? I used to think that it

was an Armenian church, yet it turns out to be a Turkish church. The

State has lied to us. Now they will have to account for this. Soon

our public prosecutors can start three very important court cases:

1) Against the Turkish Armed Forces for attempting to demolish a

thousand plus year old Turkish monument on June 25, 1951; 2) Against

Prime Minister Erdogan's government for declaring it as an "Armenian

Church" and restoring it as such in 2007; 3) Against all the past

Turkish Republic governments for allowing this Turkish monument to

almost collapse due to neglect. Of course all three cases will have to

be opened under the Turkish Criminal Code Article 301/1 which covers

"publicly insulting Turkishness."

I had heard firsthand about these destructions years ago, but this

fact has nothing to do with our present subject matter. In the spring

of 1999 I had visited the Cappadocia region. Our guide had told us:

"I was with a commando unit during my military service. One day,

our commanding officer told us to gather a large amount of explosives

and to blow up the ruins of two Armenian churches nearby. We flattened

both of them." But of course those were completely different from this

one. Let us listen to what Goksel Gulbey, the president of ASIMDER

(The Association Against International Unfounded Armenian Allegations)

has to say:

"The church that the Armenians are alleging as theirs belongs

toPecheneq Turks, Christian Turks. (...) Unfortunately the Armenians

have fabricated a myth, claiming the church to be theirs."

The President points also to a very important matter as follows:

"This is where in 1915, during the Van massacres, Moslem women from

Van had thrown themselves into Lake Van, in order to escape rape, ,

thus saving their honor." No wonder, MHP (Nationalist Movement Party)

deputy Prof. Yusuf Halacoglu (former president of the official Turkish

Historical Society) had mentioned this on April 29th in Salihli

and had even given the exact number of women involved by saying:

"For the 50 Van women for whom we have not even been able to erect

a monument of chastity." Incidentally we heard that MHP has a law

proposal for such a monument.

I had heard this "saving their honor" in the past in relation to

1915, but from a totally different perspective which I cannot remember

now. Anyway, President Gulbey ends his statement by saying: "As Turks,

we will be present here for the September 8 religious service.

With a three bus-full crowd, we will participate in these services

and tell our side of the story."

An Armenian cannot have slanted eyes

The proofs given by Gulbey are rock solid: "There is a relief on the

top side of the Akdamar [sic] Church depicting a horseman shooting

arrows backwards. All historians agree that only Turks shoot arrows

backwards while riding horses and there is no Armenian with slanted

eyes. The horse on the relief also has a crescent above its hoof and

on its rump. The use of the crescent as symbol by Turks even before

Islam is an accepted fact by all historians."

I looked at those pictures from books that I found, and on the East

facade of the church there is a relief of a hunting scene where the

eyes of the rider who is shooting the arrow is looking backwards. Of

course the Armenian propaganda machine can misrepresent this saying:

"If the archer is not cross eyed, his eyes would naturally slant

towards the back because that is where he is looking. Also the Armenian

artist might have shown Central Asian people in a hunt scene."

Armenians might also point to the relief on the right and might even

say: "The relief of the archer on the left depicts the Central Asian

people who are still in the hunter-gatherer phase. Whereas the grapes,

lamb and human shown on the right depicts the Armenians which have

achieved the settled agricultural phase of civilization."

We must be alert

In addition to this misrepresentation, I want to warn my ASIMDER

friends to the possibility that the Armenian lobby, which is as

malignant as the interest rate lobby, might say: "Pecheneq Turks did

not live on the southern shores of the Black Sea but on its north. .

Furthermore if this is a Turkish church, why are all the inscriptions

in the Armenian alphabet? Didn't the Pecheneqs use a Runic alphabet

i.e. the Gokturk alphabet?"

The shortest answer to this would be: "There is no such thing as

an Armenian alphabet. Like the Kurds, Armenians are also Turks;

therefore their alphabet is a copy of the Gokturk alphabet." But if,

for some reason or other this does not sound convincing we can make

the following claim: "The original inscriptions were written in the

Runic alphabet, but in 1915 the so-called Armenians came, they erased

the originals, and replaced them with their own writings."

This latter claim might be even more appropriate because when the

recent issue of the demolishment of ancient Armenian houses in Mush

had come to the fore, Irfan Ermis from ASIMDER had said: "There is a

monument in the Kurtulus (Independence) Park. (...) We know how they

changed the inscriptions on that monument (...) If you look now only

the names of the 120 martyred children is written" (The Son Nokta

Newspaper, Elazig, August 24, 2013)

If the lobby still insists saying "On the Akhtamar church not only

has the Armenian alphabet been used but the architectural style of

the church is also Armenian." Based on the principle that you should

imitate the smell as the sound(*) we can say: "Just as the Armenian

alphabet has been copied from the Gokturk alphabet, the Armenian

architectural style has been copied from Seljuk architecture. The

dome of the Akhtamar Church is exactly like the dome of the Mevlana

Shrine in Konya. As a matter of fact, the Turks also brought their

own architects with them on the way from Central Asia." Of course

the construction dates of those two monuments (921 AD and 1358 AD,

respectively) might cause some controversy, but I am sure that our

friends from ASIMDER will think of a scientific answer to that problem.

We are facing hardships

The whole world is now scared that Turks are becoming too strong,

and this has a bearing down on us. 2015 is also getting close. Our

own state is collaborating with the Azerbaijanis against the Armenians.

The Turks should erect a Chastity Monument on the Akhtamar Island on

which ASIMDER is planning to show up on September 8, so that we can

proudly prove to the World that we did not commit genocide against

the Armenians.

However, as it is difficult to refute all arguments one by one, I

propose an all-encompassing strategy. We should firmly stand behind

the fact that sometime in the past the Armenians came down from Space

and then returned back to Space in 1915.

(*) Translator's Note: This "principle" comes from a Nasreddin Hodja

joke which goes as follows:

Nasreddin Hodja, a well-known anonymous figure of Anatolian wisdom,

invited somebody to dinner, who, while having dinner, accidentally

farted, and then made the wooden floor creak to imitate the sound.

Upon which the Hodja couldn't help saying: "Now that you have

successfully imitated the sound, I wonder how you will imitate

the smell?"

Azerbaijan may forgive foreigners who illegally visited occupied Azeri
land - Foreign Ministry

BAKU. Sept 13 (Interfax) -The foreigners who were declared personae
non grata in Azerbaijan for unauthorized visits to the occupied
Nagorny Karabakh territory may be removed from the blacklist if they
apologize to Azerbaijan, Azeri Foreign Ministry press officer Elman
Abdullayev told a briefing on Friday.

"A list of people declared personae non grata in Azerbaijan has
recently been made. The people on this list have expressed concerns
that they will never be able to visit Azerbaijan again. In this
regard, some of them have contacted the Azeri Foreign Ministry,"
Abdullayev said.

"In their reports, those people said they were deceived when they
visited Nagorny Karabakh," he said.

Students from John Hopkins University have asked to be removed from
the blacklist, saying they were misled by Armenia, he said.

"Among the people on the list are Russian State Duma deputy Alexei
Mitrofanov, James Brooke, the head of the Voice of America bureau for
Russia, and others, including politicians, students, and journalists.
The main thing is that they understand that the situation is serious
and are contacting the Azeri authorities," Abdullayev said.

Abdullayev said some countries arrest people who violate their
borders, put them on international most wanted persons list, and try
them in a court of law.

"There were cases when citizens who accidentally violated the border
were arrested. After the list of personae non grata was made, the
Azeri Foreign Ministry started receiving requests for permission to
visit the occupied territories. These people are mainly journalists,"
Abdullayev said.

Responding to a question from Interfax on the number of people on the
blacklist, Abdullayev said there are 335 people on the list, but
people will be removed from it after their requests are considered.

Commenting on the issue of companies investing in the occupied Azeri
territories, Abdullayev reiterated that such companies were created by
the Armenian lobby.

"It have been proved by the general amount of alleged investment in
these territories by world-famous brands. Karabakh can only develop as
part of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Our Armenian citizens who live in
those territories also understand that very well," he said.

Nakhijevan: Baku taking up entertaining arithmetic
http://media.pn.am/media/issue/170/128/photo/170128.jpg
http://static.pn.am/images/l_op1_eng.gifSeptember 18, 2013 - 15:32 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - Baku, dissatisfied with the calculation of "damages inflicted to Azerbaijan by Armenia," looks to continue the entertaining arithmetic by calculating damages inflicted to Nakhijevan.

The works group, led by a doctor of economics, professor Khanhuseyn Kazimli, consists of volunteers which will calculate as they're ordered to.

As APA Azeri news agency reported, "the surface contacts between Nakhijevan Autonomous Republic and Azerbaijan have been cut as a result of expansion of Armenian separatism and aggression started from the beginning of the 90s of the last century. Particularly, different provocations committed by the Armenians on the railway line and terrorist acts against civilians caused the complete suspension of this transport. This has resulted in the blockade of Nakhijevan."

The damage was calculated at once to amount to "hundreds of millions of manats (AZN) in economic damage." As the website claims, "all economic and cultural damages of the Autonomous Republic caused by the closing of railway and highway over last 20 years, as well as funds allocated from Azerbaijan’s budget for the protection of Nakhijevan should be compensated by Armenia."

Sure, no one can forbid Baku to take up entertaining arithmetic. Seems like Azerbaijan has forgotten all of its problems and is now busy calculating damages which resulted from its faulty policies. Yet there's one thing Baku's pseudo-mathematicians are forgetting about: if it comes to calculating damages, it's Armenia who's got to issue bills to Baku for ruined shrines, expulsion of Armenians from Azerbaijan, and Nakhijevan, a historic Armenian land, in particular.

Armenian towns of Agulis and Jugha were fully demolished, destroyed were 27000 Armenian churches and a mediaeval Armenian cemetery in Old Jugha, with bulldozers having smashed khachkars. The "work group" must surely be aware of the facts. As for Azeri historians, they continue writing their own history of South Caucasus, generously supported by the government to be turned into a tool of state policy. Azerbaijan's aggressive policy continues to devise new means for an information war against Armenia, resorting to pseudo-historians’ assistance.

So who should pay one's dues is another big question. To say nothing of a half a million-strong Armenian community of Azerbaijan, robbed and thrown out of their homes in the best case. Baku would be better off to finally see a beam in its eye, instead of trying to see a speck in another's. And as for Nakhijevan blockade – there's an interrupted flow of petrol- and product-filled trucks bound for the autonomous republic on the road from Iran.

ALIYEV LAYS CLAIM TO YEREVAN, PRAISES SAFAROV

http://asbarez.com/114047/aliyev-lays-claim-to-yerevan-praises-safarov/
Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 | Posted by Asbarez Staff

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev

BAKU-Azeri President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday praised axe-murderer Ramil
Safarov as a hero and vowed to "reclaim" Azerbaijan's territorial
integrity by claiming that one day every Azeri can live in Yerevan,
Zangezur and other areas that are part of Armenia.

In a speech, that seemed more like a rant, Aliyev, who was attending
the opening of a so-called genocide museum, said: "Azerbaijan's state
flag will wave in Shusha, Khankendi [stepanakert] and Azerbaijanis will
live on their historical lands in the future. Our historical lands are
Irevan [Yerevan] and Zangazur regions." The museum is dedicated to
the victims of a 1918 "massacre," which Aliyev claims was committed
by Armenians against Azeris. The fact that a country of Azerbaijan
did not exist until 1918 seems to escape the Azeri leader.

On another note, Aliyev blamed what he called "Armenian fascism"
on the international community's reaction to crowning Safarov a hero.

"I was condemned baselessly and so many foreign dishonest politicians
made accusations against me, because the Azerbaijani officer,
Ramil Safarov, returned [to his] homeland and I gave him freedom,"
said Aliyev.

"Even the European Parliament adopted a resolution on this issue and
condemned my actions. But even today I can say firmly that Azerbaijan
has returned its officer to the homeland, given him freedom and
established justice. But look at the world press, international
organizations, how many groundless accusations they have made against
Azerbaijan," Aliyev said.

The Azeri leader went on to stress that all factors, including economic
and military ones, indicate that in a matter of time Azerbaijan "will
restore its territorial integrity" and reclaim its "historic lands,"
which includes the capital of Armenia, Yerevan.

"There will come a time when we live on these lands. I am convinced
of it," said Aliyev, calling the people of Azerbaijan to action to
"bring this sacred day closer."

U.S. delegation left hungry due to meeting opposition in Nakhichevan

"Vasif Talybov kept American diplomat hungry and disgraced the famous Caucasian hospitality," the Azerbaijani portal "Minval" reads.

As the portal reports citing "Musavat.com" lawyer Derek Hogan who is temporarily authorized in affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan faced a shocking incident during a visit to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. Note that Vassif Talybov is the head of this autonomy.

The delegation headed by Derek Hogan had arrived a few days ago, in order to find out the pre-election atmosphere in Nakhichevan. He met with several representatives of local organizations, including - representatives of the opposition party "Musavat" and Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan. Despite the fact that in the framework of the visit meeting with members of the ruling party "Yeni Azerbaijan" was scheduled, the latter didn’t come to the meeting.

After the meeting with the local activists Derek Hogan and his entourage wanted to have lunch and went to restaurant, "Soyudlu" where the dinner was reserved beforehand since the morning and was agreed with the administration of the restaurant. U.S. Embassy representatives were shocked when they received a refusal and were told that there was no food. At the same time, other visitors of the restaurant were eating and drinking.

Local activists accompanying the U.S. delegation ordered tea for face-saving. But in response to the request received a sacramental phrase: "We have no gas, no water, and even if we had all of this there would be no waiter here who would serve you."
"Thus, the embassy representatives and persons accompanying them left Nakhichevan, not having had dinner," the article reads.

Azerbaijani media are outraged: Armenian businessman insured Hilton hotel in Baku

Famous Russian billionaire of Armenian origin Sergey Sarkisov not only entered the Azerbaijani market, but also insured one of the five star hotels in Baku, the Azerbaijani news portal Haqqin.az" writes.

Earlier "Haqqin.az" reported with reference to the site Virtualaz.org, that the famous Russian billionaire of Armenian origin Sergey Sarkisov had adjusted his insurance business in Azerbaijan. After this, the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan hurried to deny these facts, calling the investigation of the site "biased" and "false."

According to the article, the information published on May 5, 2012, on the Armenian billionaire’s official website of the "RESO - Guarantee", states that "Unity Re" which is a member of re-insurance company RESO reinsured several largest hotels in the world’s Hilton network in May 2012.

It says that today, the world-famous chain of hotels and resorts founded in the U.S. in 1919, has 540 facilities in 78 countries around the world. Five hotels in that network, including Hilton Baku (Azerbaijan), Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand (Lebanon), Hilton Abu Dhabi, Hilton Ras Al Khaimah and the Double Tree by Hilton RAK (the last three - UAE), were reinsured by the "Unity Re" in May 2012.

The total sum of the insured objects exceeded $ 600 million, the "Haqqin.az" informs. "It also became known that the head of the "Unity Re" had come to Baku to participate in the second Azerbaijani International Insurance Forum held on July 7-8, in 2011. The organizers of the forum were the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani Insurers Association. Was it so difficult for our Ministry of Finance to check and find out that the "Unity Re" is included in the holding of the company of the Armenian billionaire?" wonders the portal.

Azerbaijan's big presidential election, held on Wednesday, was
anticipated to be neither free nor fair. President Ilham Aliyev, who
took over from his father 10 years ago, has stepped up intimidation of
activists and journalists. Rights groups are complaining about free
speech restrictions and one-sided state media coverage. The BBC's
headline for its story on the election reads "The Pre-Determined
President." So expectations were pretty low.

Even still, one expects a certain ritual in these sorts of
authoritarian elections, a fealty to at least the appearance of
democracy, if not democracy itself. So it was a bit awkward when
Azerbaijan's election authorities released vote results - a full day
before voting had even started.

The vote counts - spoiler alert: Aliyev was shown as winning by a
landslide - were pushed out on an official smartphone app run by the
Central Election Commission. It showed Aliyev as "winning" with 72.76
percent of the vote. That's on track with his official vote counts in
previous elections: he won ("won"?) 76.84 percent of the vote in 2003
and 87 percent in 2008.

The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission sent out these vote totals
to its official smartphone app before voting started. (meydan.tv)

In second place was opposition candidate Jamil Hasanli with 7.4
percent of the vote. Hasanli had recently appealed to the Central
Election Commission for paid airtime on state TV, arguing that Aliyev
gets heavy airtime and the opposition does not. He was denied.

The data were quickly recalled. The official story is that the app's
developer had mistakenly sent out the 2008 election results as part of
a test. But that's a bit flimsy, given that the released totals show
the candidates from this week, not from 2008.

You might call this a sort of Kinsley gaffe on a national scale. (A
Kinsley gaffe, named for journalist Michael Kinsley, is when a
politician gets in trouble for saying something that's widely known as
true but that he isn't supposed to say.) There's supposed to be a
certain ritual to an election like Azerbaijan's: demonstrations are
put down, reporters are harassed, opposition candidates are whittled
down, supporters are ushered to the polls and then Aliyev's sweeping
victory is announced. They got the order wrong here.

As of this writing, Azerbaijan's election authorities say they've
counted 80 percent of the ballots, with Aliyev winning just under 85
percent of the vote so far. He's been officially reelected.

Hurriyet: Park after Heydar Aliyev in Ankara is turned into a garbage dump

The park after Heydar Aliyev, founded 7 years ago in Ankara, has turned into a garbage dump, according to Azerbaijani news portal "Haqqin.az" writes the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.

According to information, the entire forest belt, consisting of 81 thousands of trees is left off-hand.

"Previously, there were a lot of people here walking around. Families were having rest here. But then they stopped taking care of the park and it turned into a landfill. Moreover, many alcoholics and drug addicts gather here at nights; they even caused a fire last week," complain the locals.

Commenting on the situation, the representatives of the Beyuksheher municipality on the territory of which the park is located say that this park does not exist according to the documents, and they cannot do anything about it.

In Azerbaijan, the personality cult of Heydar Aliyev was shaped during his lifetime, this process continued after his death. Streets, parks and various places (including the airport in Baku and refineries) were named in honor of the former president. The Azerbaijani textbooks present Heydar Aliyev as a "great leader" and the savior of Azerbaijan.

This is Comedistan, so let us continue the comedy.

That farcical fantasy, that Divana Comedy known as SAE (Soviet Armenian Encyclopedia)** has a whole monograph about that dog heydar aliev, where we read that he was born in Nakh-ch-ivan/Avan. I wish I can find it now. Sometime ago I read somewhere that he was in fact, contrary to assertions he was born in Nakhjavan, he was born in an Armenian village, now part of Armenian Zangezur.

**We were promised that that Divana Comedy, the SAE was to be republished and those dogs like aliev and other clowns, like azizbekov *** would be removed.

***Until recently Vayots Dzor was known by that name.

WHAT IS THE IMAGE OF AZERBAIJAN ON THE WORLD MAP?

Turan Information Agency, Azerbaijan
October 30, 2013 Wednesday

Baku/29.10.13/Turan:

Website thedoghousediaries.com, publishing comic books, has created
a kind of map of the world, where instead of the name of each country
is a symbol and short features.

At the presentation of the map it was reported that they comply with
the country's leadership in a particular area, according to the radio
"Azadlig".

For example, on the map of the USA it is written, "Nobel laureates
and deaths from lawn mowers." Russia is represented as "Raspberry
and nuclear warheads", China - "Carbon dioxide", Turkey - "Apricot",
Mexico - "Lightning Strike", Spain - "Cocaine ", UK - "The fascist
movement", etc.

Azerbaijan is represented as a country of "pirated software", Iran
is called "brain drain", and Georgia - "Khachapuri". Armenia is not
mentioned at all in any way. Mapmakers have ignored it.

Baku in uproar: Azeri volleyball team uniform features Armenian Tricolor
http://media.pn.am/media/issue/172/168/photo/172168.jpg
November 4, 2013 - 14:59 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azeryol Champions League women’s volleyball team caused a major stir among Azeri fans, according to Sport.1news.az.

According to the website, the Azeri team’s new uniform features the Armenian Tricolor.

“We wonder whose “brilliant” idea it was? If the uniform was offered by a foreign company, why did Azeryol approve it? Why would they use this very same succession of colors rather than the colors of Azerbaijani flag?” the website questions.

The national flag of Armenia, the Armenian Tricolor consists of three horizontal bands of equal width, red on the top, blue in the middle, and orange (also described as "colour of apricot") on the bottom.

The official definition of the colors, as stated in the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, is: “The Red emblematizes the Armenian Highland, the Armenian people's continued struggle for survival, maintenance of the Christian faith, Armenia's independence and freedom. The Blue emblematizes the will of the people of Armenia to live beneath peaceful skies. The Orange emblematizes the creative talent and hard-working nature of the people of Armenia.”

They call to beat European Movement leader in Azerbaijan for dancing under Armenian music in Yerevan

Video footage, shot at a restaurant in Yerevan where Ramin Hajily, the leader of the European Movement of Azerbaijan, who had arrived in Yerevan in the frameworks of a conference, is dancing under the Armenian music, has caused a stir in his homeland.

Hafiz Hajiyev, the leader of "Modern Musavat" party, who is known for his extravagant statements, (for example, he called to pay 10,000 euros to the one who cuts off Azerbaijani writer Akram Aylisli’s ear who had written about the massacre of Armenians in Nakhichevan,) this time has called upon beating the leader of the European Movement of Azerbaijan.

In an interview to “Moderator.az”, Hafiz Hajiyev has condemned Ramin Hajily’s actions. "He drank brandy and had parties in Yerevan. You cannot leave it unpunished. Law enforcement authorities should investigate the incident and take appropriate actions. I will personally appeal to the young people of my party and will order them to beat him," stated the leader of the "Modern Musavat" party.

Van to Wan?

http://hyeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=55832#entry311715

My question was, still is. How will they write wan when there is no W in their alphabet. In another news brief it becomes suspect that the person is Kurdish and wants to reintroduce Kurdish pronunciations .of banned sounds like W Q and X (KH.).

“[The change] will also ensure the name’s phonetic pronunciation is correctly made,” she added.
The ban on the letters “q, x and w,” which are all used in the Kurdish alphabet but forbidden in official documents, was lifted by the government’s "democratization package" announced on Sept. 30.

Another view from Yerakuyn. I cannot fin d the English.

Among the ridiculous suggestion is. Change Agti to Agir. We already know that agri is a corruption of the Ar,menian Agori/Akori ԱԿՈՌԻ

To add insult to injury. I just saw where an idiotic so called Christian (cultist) says that the name Agri, in that non-language means (mountain of the) Ark. Huhh!

Duhh, double duhh! Ark is an Indo-Eurpean (English) word. Ark@gh Արկղ , in Armenian, in the Latin Arcla.

Azerbaijani researcher claims that Nostradamus predicted Heydar Aliyev’s coming to power

Even if Nostradamus didn’t arrive to Azerbaijan, he still could see what would happen in Azerbaijani Gazakh region and Baku city, Azerbaijani scientist Ghazanfar *****ev, who for 10 years carefully studied the life and work of the famous French astrologer Nostradamus, stated in an interview with the Azerbaijani news agency "Anspress."

In 2007 *****yev published a book called "World of Wonders", which tells about Nostradamus and his predictions.

According to the scientist, the book also contains predictions of Nostradamus about Azerbaijan.

"There will come a time when in an Eastern country a person will come to power who will save the country from destruction and will pass the power to his son. I studied for a long time and came to the conclusion that he meant Heydar Aliyev and his son Ilham Aliyev," says the Azerbaijani scientist.

The book also notes that in 2015 Russia will become a great State, but only at the price of blood.

Tatyana Sharbina: Armenians cooked Tolma when there was no such country as Azerbaijan

“And here I am, its 2010 and I’m for the first time in Baku, Azerbaijan. Intellectuals of Azerbaijan, all Azerbaijanis have gathered around a big table. During the last twenty years Baku ceased to be a cosmopolitan city,” writes Russian journalist Tatyana Sharbina in the article published in “Moscow News” newspaper’s website.

The author notes that as she was a guest in Baku they started to ask her questions. The first question was about what she thinks about the Armenians. “In Moscow, before leaving I was warned not to utter a single word about Armenia and I didn’t intend either,” states Sharbina adding that her answer to the question was “nothing” to be able to get away from the topic, especially when she treats different people in different ways, including the Armenians.

However, as the author notes, her answer only provoked a wave of tension. “So, you are on Armenians side?” “No, I don’t belong to any of the sides. I’m Russian, Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict is far from me,” answered the journalist.

After that, the Azerbaijanis started to tell their guest eagerly “what kind of things they (the Armenians, ed.) did.” The journalist noted that she also knew about the massacres of the Armenians in Sumgait and suggested to change the topic. However, the answer from Azerbaijani side was the following; “They (the Armenians, ed.) washed your brains. They captured the whole Russian television”. Sharbina replied, she doesn’t watch TV, after which she was told that “Armenia is Western Azerbaijan, and the Soviet Union created Armenia in order to destroy Azerbaijan.”

“I clearly realized that if I started speaking about the ancient history of Armenia, they would assume that I was an Armenian spy. I didn’t want that to happen as I had to stay in Azerbaijan a few more days. I replied quite sharply that I didn’t want to speak about Armenia and started to praise food; tolma, dyushbara, kutaby, pilaf with dried fruit and eat with sheer appetite,” adds Sharbina.

“Did you know that the Armenians stole our Tolma? And its name as well, which is outrageous!” the Azerbaijanis declared.
The journalist answered that she didn’t know because she hadn’t been to Armenia.

“I hardly kept myself from saying that the Armenians started to cook Tolma from the times when there was no such country as Azerbaijan. However, we came to the dessert, to Baklava observing that “it is a native Azerbaijani dish and should be declared such, as the Armenians messed it up as well.” I burst out telling them that baklava (which I am fond of) is known from the 8th century,” writes the author.

Tatyana Sharbina also stated, “Pie with chopped nuts and sugar impregnation was firstly cooked by the chef of Sultan in Minor Asia (Turkey didn’t exist at that time and I’m not even speaking about Azerbaijan) and thin sheets soaked in honey were first made by the Greeks. Baklava is a Greek dish! One historian in Turkey told me that Ancient Greece is a myth and in the reality it was Turkey. I, being an ancient Greek nationalist, got angry.”

As it is stated in the article, nowadays the ethnic/confessional identity is exaggerated and artificially enriched, while professional civic and intellectual identity is emasculated. “Everyone has a reason to hate, defend or attack. I’m not ready to condemn anyone until my personal identity is not hurt, which first of all gets hurt by the hatred and insidious lie,” Sharbina concludes.
