I know not every Armenian guy in LA is like that, but the majority are. I personally know so many families where they spoil their sons with cars and gold bracelets and necklaces, while their kids can barely read and write and are high school dropouts. This news is extremely sad to me. I chose not to post this in the open forum, as the police are still investigating and might still find that Mr. Grigoryan was not the driver (though highly unlikely). That car is a black 2003 4-door Mercedes-Benz S430, California license number O7TT777, and it is believed to have sustained front-end damage. Grigoryan is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and has black hair and brown eyes. The woman was crossing Glendale Avenue just south of Windsor Road with another woman about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday when a southbound car stopped to let them pass, police said. The Mercedes driver, southbound in another lane, apparently did not see the two women, and the car struck Sandoval, knocking her about 75-100 feet, police said. She died at the scene. The other woman was not injured. Broken car parts found in the road gave police clues to the suspect vehicle. Rewards of $10,000 each were approved by the Glendale City Council and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for information helping to solve the crime, Balian said. I dont even think its 50% who spoil their kids. but you are absolutely right, many are... I know at the age of 20 I was driving my dads old 1976 olds delta 88. Yes parents are to be blamed for this and should have a price to pay(and I guess their price will be the weekly visits to county jail). if he ran away because of the adrenaline rush he should have turned himself in in an hour or something like that. With the assistance of State and Federal Authorities, we were able to locate Ara Grigoryan in Mexico City. We would specifically like to thank Immigration Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, United States Marshals, and the Mexican Authorities for their assistance in this case. We would like to take this moment and give you a chronological order of events that took place during our investigation regarding this case. On July 10, 2007 at 9:45 pm, Glendale Police Officers responded to Glendale Avenue and Windsor Road, regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Elizabeth Sandoval was pronounced at the scene. An investigation into the fatal hit and run accident began. On July 11, 2007, traffic investigators were able to identify a location where the suspect vehicle might have been. Officers did not locate the vehicle in question; however, they were able to identify evidence that was left behind by the possible suspect. On July 12, 2007, anonymous tips and more investigative work led us to identifying the vehicle and the person of interest who had been driving the vehicle in question. After retrieving two court orders, our request still went unanswered. On July 14, 2007 at 7:00 am, the Los Angeles Police Department notified us that ATX had activated the GPS and the vehicle in question was located parked on a public street in the City of Van Nuys. There were obvious signs of fresh bodywork done to the front-end portion of the vehicle. At the beginning of this week, we received information that a person matching the description of Ara Grigoryan was in custody in Mexico City. Today we have verified that Ara Grigoryan is in fact the person that was detained by the Mexican Authorities. With the assistance of the United States Marshal’s, Ara Grigoryan was transported back to the United States and released to the custody of the Glendale Police Department. Our prayers again go out to the Sandoval Family and we hope this will give them some type of closer. Kakachik, i don't think that we're overreacting... Yes, it could happen to anyone, thousands of russian teens are being overdosed daily, and hundreds of mexican teens are getting pregnant by the age of twelve... I don't think we should say, oh, well, no big deal... This boy was driving his father's car, and a father that can put those plates on his car, is the type that encourages the behavior... I grew up in Yerevan, and the boys with those type of "special" plates could run over and kill a person and no one, even police would not react...I even knew a girl, she was one of the first girls to drive in Yerevan, she run over an old lady, the family was even afraid to file a report...My point is that, instead of trying to fight this in Armenia, we are bringing it here... The incident is very unfortunate, a young girl was taken away from life because of a reckless driver but let's not be carried away with sentimental ethnic arguments...really anybody could have acted cowardly like this, perhaps an educational and social class has something to do with it but even that argument is weak for me. well I'll give you a scenario, and most likely will happen, sometime in near future an innocent boy is driving home around midnight when a pick up truck which is passing by opens up a brage of gunfire and kills this boy instantly, and guess what, the boy is an Armenian kid who is a victim as a direct result of this stupidity which is being discussed on this topic. why do i worry? because I'm a father to one, come April 24rth drive down on 170, 101, 405 and 5 interstates all you see is Armenian Benz, BMW, etc.... with huge Armenian flags waving like .......I don't know, should I go on and on? it takes a army of good man to build a nice name, introduce positive aspects of our culture, music, literature, yet it takes ONE stupid idiot to destroy it all. sentimental?
