well actually im listenin to it right now as i read ur post lol so it was kinda funny i dono if its the fact that im sasuntsi and the song is sasuna sar that attracts me to it, but i find that her voice, as annoying as it is, has smthn to it that catches u and makes u wana hear it again, i think its the vibrato she puts here n there it truly gives u a earthy feeling, if i can put it that way

i agree the cd is wonderful...the arrangements are great and the accordion technique is pretty good...i wonder why they didnt do such great arrangements on the song versions (eventhough the song versions do have good arrangements)

the title should rather read "From MOD to PM: Sargsyan fulfills DREAMS, becomes Prime Minister" its just sad, the country is corrupted and continues to be corrupted, i dnt even see the point of having elections next month, as if we dont know whos gona win (im talkin about sargsyan)

no i don't take it personnally cuz ur post is respectful... i know that some of those "syllables" have ancient armenian perhaps pagan roots...i have received alot of education in armenian history...its just that i find that those let's call them words, are being used for the sake of making a song in a quick and efficient manner...i can understand that some of the songs include those, but basing all the songs on lyrics such as "ay nino yar nino yar jan jan nino yar nino yar jan nino yar" is somewhat ridiculous and effortless...as much as it is nice to imagine the young generation dancing on that, but in my opinion u play that in a club and ppl will look at each other and start lauging...the problem with armenian music today is that its not tangible to the youth...the songs are either remixes of old tunes whose words, as nice as they are, won't fit today's reality (you don't see two youngsters runnin after another on a wheat farm these days), or they're songs that are copied off greek or turkish tunes...i found the music on andre's 1000 angam cd amazing, i just found it a shame that the lyrics were like that for most of the songs... on another but related issue: dont get me wrong, im not sayin to leave out those old tunes, but don't u thikn we have a problem when we have 20 remakes of dle yaman (im not talking about live performances, but rather recordings done in studios) and 10 remakes of horovel? yes those are precious songs, we ought to preserve them and hold on to them as much as possible, but we also need to create new masterpieces, which need not necessarily be totally american or russian type of pop songs (like the government in armenia wants it to be) so that we're sure not to be labelled as oriental type of music...we should take out the scare we have of being labelled rabiz or eastern influenced or wtvr...we should rather try to avoid to put those in our music, but still make it armenian without americanizing it with slow ballads like the one we're sending out at eurovision this year we can make new songs put meaningful lyrics to them and perhaps include some "armenian heritage material" and be still up to date...it's just rare are the ones who actually try that, and those who do are either discouraged on the basis of being labeled rabiz or dnt have enough $ or connections to make it to the top...

is it just me or have u noticed how andre's songs have stupid lyrics? i mean the music is good but the lyrics are so made up that it kills the song...i mean what the h*** is Sone Le Le...almost all the songs in the new album have weird lyrics like that, one is akh nanar nanar, the other one is nino yar...i mean u wana attract the young generation u should limit the use of that type of lyrics and take time to write words that actually make sense and are not just random syllables put next to each other... sry had to say it, its been bugging me for a while, those lyrics wasted his almost-perfect new cd

i might be attacked for this lol...i know we shouldnt look at others and compare to them ,but in the case of eurovision i think its possible to do so, i mean check the lyrics of american and english songs...sometimes they make aboslutely no sense, and yet these songs are fan favorites...i just think that shprot is tryin to do just that in armenian show biz, bring in smthn original, as cheesy as it might be...and perhaps a bit provocative or too "erotic" but i think it's just an example of pop culture...without exaggerating i found her "xorozs taran" song absolutely wonderful...her voice isnt too bad either...i think she has the attitude it takes to represent us at eurovision, keep in mind that watchers of eurovision have different values than what we might have, they dont look for daddy's girl or mommy's boy type of singer who has no attitude nor originality, they look for aggressivity and passion, and i think on that shprot is doin well...besides we went into eurovision to win and associate armenia's name with victory, not to show to the world our professional and classic or contemporary music, that we can do in other ways...

in fact, i think Shprot would have made a better eurovision candidate becayse she's attractive, her songs are very energetic and original and her voice isnt bad...those are the criteria by which eurovision contestants are judged, its not about talent or professionalism...actually sometimes its quite the opposite

i thought it was rather obvious that in "tiranal" or "tiratsu" it's not a matter of the "ti" prefix, rather "ter" (or "der") is written with an "é", which becomes an "ee" when used in a complex word

yes Mosjan, that was the point I kept making all along on this forum, and ppl got annoyed, its because us armenians have a tendency to criticize music that sounds turkish or arabic saying its not armenian, whereas we dont realize tthat most of the music we hear from armenia today is the same style as hayko and has ABSOLUTELY nothing armenian about them, doesnt mean theyre bad, but we gotta be fair n square for both sides... as for the song, its a good song, but not a eurovision song....and it lacks alot of originality...but hayko is an overall good performer, he wont let us down performance wise...did u see the number of music schools he graduated from?

As much as I like Hayko, I don't think that the song is a winner. Like many artists have pointed out, a Eurovision song has to be energetic and original. Anything you need is just like any other ballad we hear from Hayko, very soothing and mellow, but no kick and nothing original. It's just sad, but I hope this was truly the decision of the ppl as they want us to believe and not just a State affair. I have nothing against Hayko, he's one of my favorites, but I just find that the song could have been better. I don't want to be pessimistic, but I feel like we might not make it as far as last year...but I hope I'm wrong...In any case, I wish him and Armenia the best of luck.

well my take on them (eventhough no one asked for it ) i personnaly don't like them alot, nothing personal its just that i find their music kind of annoying sometimes...at some point in the tamzara song one of them i dono which one sounds like a choking chicken, i mean why cant they sing normally without like making their voice go thru a natural phaser or smthn...with respect to all their fans, for me they don't represent somthin big in armenian showbusiness today, and yea their clothes are around even when theyre not singing...so i dono whats up with that...their first cd was much more serious and better i find

i actually liked both her songs and her voice...i had never heard of her before...apparently she was the back vocalist for andre at eurovision? remindsme of Arpine Bekjanian...shes not around anymore, i actually liked her, her music was modern and well performed

i'm not particularly into one particular party...but i admit the fact that dashnaktsutyun has done sooo much for our republic...and he basically sings about heroes who were part of that party, and he himself being one it is not surprising...after all a big proportion of the heroes who fought back then and later on were partisans or members of the party...besides he really believes in what he says...he was even imprisoned for seeking revenge against turkish diplomats

well i didn't say for sure which one came first and never mentioned when he got the book since i have no idea...btw this song "haydi soyle" has been interpreted in armenian by many other people, such as Pashik - "orer orer", and there was someone else too which i can't figure out right now, but we have to make an important distinction: aram's version doesn't sound turkish at all! whereas pashik's version, ironically, sounds more turkish than ibrahim could've done himself, and that's an important point, because it shows that one singer isn't interested in making his music sound turkish while the other is aiming specifically for that...its more the latter that is bad than the former

we conducted an interview with aram here at some point and its funny cuz it seems to me he actually said the same thing that time, it sounds familiar, as in i wouldn't be surprised...besides i've always said that his songs don't sound turkish, so...

as for hay kacher...the song sounds rather kurdish, and it is possible that nersik has given it to harout, since nersik's music is strongly influenced by music of Daron which is very similar to kurdish music, but the problem lies in the fact that harout's version of the song is played in a very turkish manner, whereas nersik's versions are rather played in a kurdish or traditional Daron fashion

the difference with aram and the rest of singers is, aram's songs IF they are taken from turkish, they are modified and not exact copies like that of, let's say tatoul, and aram's songs sound very armenian, and maybe his versions are the originals, thats why?? it's sure that aram is recognized not only among armenians but other singers too, something ive noticed myself...therefore, he might actually have the originals of many songs that are translated into other languages...
