  1. Ok fine. Then such "murders" should be legal. Any human who is a total drain on his or her care givers with no potential to ever contribute anything to society should be legal to "abort" or "murder" or whatever you want to call it. And this should be left at the discretion of the care givers. I think they should be allowed to put an ad in papers or some special websites to see if there is anyone who is willing to assume responsiblity of FULLY taking care of the said individual. If within some time (let's say 6 months) no one steps forward to take on the task, then the primary care givers should have the option to "pull the plug" so to say. Also, if they so choose, they may decide they don't want to subject the child and themselves to a life time of torture and again pull the plug. Heck we are kinder to messed up horses and dogs than to our damn children. Note that I am NOT advocating killing all children with disabilities. If you are a parent who are willing to take care of them for years and years till they die a premature death, then more power to you! I am just saying that parents should have the OPTION to abort a retard even in very very late terms after birth.
  2. Shnorhavor everyone! Flew back into LA (from the Gay Area) on new year's eve ... spent new years with the family till around 1AM exchanging presents, eating, playing pictionary, etc etc ... then after that we (including some cousins who were visting and brothers) went over to one of my friends' house and danced and partied till around 4 AM ... after that we kinda kicked back and watched some Ali G and Borat episodes for a while. All in all, it was a pretty good day. By the time I drove back home and got to bed it was around 6AM I think. As far as food, my mom had made ham, my uncle's wife had made some potatos and saldas, and my grandma had made cabbage dolma (wrapped in cabbage) as well as lima-bean rice. My mom had also made some lamb but that didn't turn out to be very popular
  3. This is an excellent example of why late term abortion should be legal. I think the parents should have the option to abort this child now.
  4. For "dual" DVD burner (2 burners?), you will have to go with an internal dvd burner and buy an external dvd burner. At that price, you can't get anything too fancy but you'll get something decent. Battery life will likely be very low so don't even worry about it. Keep in mind dvd (video) is a fairly obsolete technology so I wouldn't waste any serious money on it. Having a dvd burner is great for making file backups etc so definitely get one but think why you would need dual burners? Also, I would say don't waste any money on dual-layer dvd stuff. The disks are usually expensive and not worth the extra space since regular dvd disk are so cheap. As far as processor, I would really recommend intel coreduo but it may not be easy to get it in that price range (haven't checked). Screen size on the laptop is not as crucial in my opinion because I would definitely say get a separate LCD monitor to use on your dekstop (dual monitor with the laptop). For cheap stuff, Toshiba is ok ... I got one for my dad for $500 and he has been happy with it. Dell is another great choice but I seem to recall you hate their guts ... I have several dells and they have all been great. Dell seems to have some power supply issues (I had 2 that went out within the first week) but they ship a replacement overnight no questions asked.
  5. Saying the Sun revolves around the Earth is just as valid as saying the Earth revolves around the Sun. However Mars and Venus clearly do not revolve around the Earth.
  6. What are you going to use it for?

  8. Sorry I'm running around and don't have much time to post but I wanted to say this before you make your decision: Don't base your PC buying decision on its ability to convert movies to dvd. You will be much happier with a simple dvd recorder that takes video as input (assuming your videos are analog). If they are digital, that's a different story. A hardware based mpeg2 encoder (regular dvd format) will typically work much better and faster than software. Unless you are planning to record video in raw format and then compress to mpeg2 later, on the fly software conversion is typically not that good. However you could buy a PC with a hardware based mpeg encoder but then figuring out how to use it etc will be a headache, not to mention the significant cost (usually). If the PC doesn't come with a hardware based mpeg2 chip, then you have to read in the video somehow. My video card has video input but not many do. There are some usb and usb2 based video encoders but they are usually not that good when video quality is important. Aaaaaaaaanyway, long story short: 1. For video conversion to dvd, invest in a hardware dvd recorder. I used the SONY VRD-VC20 for mine and definitely recommend it. 2. If you use a PC, it's better to capture analog video in a raw format first (lots of disk space!!!) and then convert to dvd format. 3. Using a PC, best results usually come from hardware based mpeg2 encoders. 4. Mpeg2 (DVD) is an outdated format. You might want to look into Mpeg4. So convert all your videos into mpeg4 digital format (such as XVID or DIVX) and then make dvds from those sources for viewing on regular dvd players. For #5 and #6 below, sorry armjan I don't mean to disagree but these are just my opinions 5. As far as DVD formats, I only use DVD+R. I would say don't waste any time and effort with other formats. DVD-RW sounds greats but is fairly useless since blank dvd disks are very cheap. It's just like CD-RW ... when a blank CD can be had for only a few cents, why bother with RW? Also RW-ing is usually a lot slower than just +R'ing. 6. About the "dual layer" dvd thing that you can fit 8 gigs on a disk ... again I'd say don't waste money on that since regular dvd disks are a lot cheaper so it makes a lot more sense to burn things on 2 regular dvds than a dual layer dvd. If you want to/can get a dual layer recorder then great .. but you probably won't be using it. 7. FYI, DVD+R is the most compatible format with the most typical non-pc dvd players out there. That's not to say other formats won't play but DVD+R is usually a sure bet. Ok I am rambling on and on ...

    Lie

That's probably what classifies you as an intelligent and logical person. Try to explain that to a woman that's mad at you for something.

    Lie

Sometimes you have to lie. Sometimes you should lie. Sometimes you want to lie. Sometimes you don't know you are lying. And sometimes you tell a small lie so that you don't have to tell a bigger lie. Why? Because as strange as it sounds, there are many occasions that with lies, everyone can be a lot happier than with truth. Truth is quite overrated at times.

  14. I was just refining Anon's formula for HIS cone ("It's official ..." post above).
  15. I think Azat will confim this too but the reason that would explain why so many women run, screaming in horror, in the oppositve direction, at the mere thought or mention of having sex with any us can ONLY be that stereotype.
  16. For a cone, you'd have to divide that by 2 to get the average PS: Anon, sorry I think I accidentally deleted your message when trying to edit mine So I am quoting you here. I blame it on flaky internet (no way is it my fault ).
  17. I think one of our most popular topics of all time was about the length of the black people's "list" But that was a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly, that all started off as some idiot saying there was a "loooooooong list" of things that would attract an Armenian girl to a black guy. Around here, it's either this or Jesus that are sure to attract some attention
  18. I don't know which one I found funnier ... the Indian condom problem or the Anileve + friends gossip machine whispering about them. So what else do you ladies whisper about?
  19. Oh it aint NO stereotype.
  20. I once had my little brother help me with some work under my truck. We were both crawled under the rear springs and I had him hold it in place while I tried to tighten the bolts. In one mement I had to grab a different wrench so I left a wrench hanging from the bolt I was trying to tighten and reached for the other wrench on the floor. Before I knew it, that wrench I had left on the bolt had slipped off and smacked my poor brother right on his forehead Here's a picture of the aftermath Then this other time I shot him in the ass with a bb gun while he went on to the shore from the house boat to make some noise so the field mice would start to run around. But that was intentional.

Ok. DNS stands for "Domain Name Service". It is what converts a name like "google.com" to an actual IP address that the "internet" can then use to connect and route you to the server. What all this means is that for you, for some reason, DNS is not functioning properly which means when you type google.com, your computer doesn't have a good way to translate to to the actual IP address and connect to it. There could be two reasons for this: 1. Your internet service provider's DNS servers are down. 2. Your computer is not configured properly. Since you seem to be able to connect to some sites and not to others, I am willing to bet it's a temporary problem with your internet service provider. If you have cable or DSL, you might want to turn off your modem and turn it back on to let it reset. Also, do this to your computer and other routers you may have at home/office. One thing you could try on your pc is to type this command in the cmd prompt (start->run->"cmd"->OK): ipconfig /flushdns This is a harmless command. Of course I am assuming you have windows xp. If you need more detail on any step feel free to ask.
