  1. I've had one for a while. It is an amazing phone. I love it. I can't directly compare it to the iPhone but from what I have seen, the advantages of G1 definitely outweight some of the useless fancyness of the iPhone. My main problem is with T-Mobile. Their signal is not nearly as good as Verizon in the places I am and their 3G network is still catching up. So even though the phone and the android platform is simply awesome (even in this very early release stage), the service might be disappointing. So personally, if I didn't have a G1 already, I might wait to see how Verizon will do with Android and if they come up with any phones (since I am under contract with them anyway for my personal phone). But man, this G1 is FAST. And most awesome of all, you never close an application .. you just keep opening stuff and it never slows down! The screen and the touch stuff work well. The built in GPS works very well with google maps and street view. Gmail and google calendar are perfectly integrated in it so there are basically no hastles with syncing or moving data around.
  2. Thank you all ... much appreciated.
  3. I need the Armenian translations for "hardcover" and "paperback" when referring to books, preferably in Armenian font Thanks in advance! Oh also if there are any variations in Western Armenian, that would also help!
  4. 7 or moderator preview + anverj xhorovats, jur, yev konyak + 3 hat stripper.
  5. I wish I were 1/2 the idiot you are!
  6. $7.5 trillion for a 'transitional' fossil? Maybe this belongs under Arpa's "Comedistan" thread?
  7. Argument was between gangs? over drugs? money? I mean even in LA it's not like everyone is walking around with an m16
  8. So waht happened? Was this random shooting or was he targetted for something?
  9. Cool ... I use UltraEdit and UEStudio for most my editing in windows. In linux, I usually use vim. This thing I was doing the other day was writing a program that would parse a large number of c++ source code files and automatically generate html documentation of a certain type of class I was interested in. As part of that, I was copying program comments directly into the HTML catalog so that's where this tag came pretty handy to preserve all the spacing.

  11. Funny you should put this up as I can definitely use it right now. I was messing with and automatically adding &nbsp's and other crap but this should do just fine
  12. Warren Buffet has plans to give over 85% of his fortune to charity (that's donating about $37B as of a couple years ago) ... if that doesn't make him a philanthropist, I don't know what does. By the way, I would also LOVE to give 85% of my "fortune" away ... but I have a hard time finding a charity that likes taking loans.

    Question...

Sounds like it's something that's in clinical trials. It's basically one step above the lab rat ... usually they do this after lab rats have passed the tests
  14. Everything that has a "beginning" (rise?) probably also has an "end" (fall?). I see this as a much needed correction on the balooning debt ... in a sense, something like this is necessary to jump start corrections for the future. Of course I'm not a financial expert either but it seems to me, forcibly over-correcting or forcing a certain direction on the economy, especially in a politically-driven atmosphere is not always the wisest strategy. The fact is US still is a huge producer with vast amounts of resources (and labor pools). The problem has been over-spending and over-consumption at rates that are unsustainable with pretty much any production schedule ... we'll learn to live ... much like the threat of $5 a gallon gas pretty much devastated the exploding "SUV" market, this shakeup of the most over-stretched banks will hopefully have a similar effect on the credit and loan markets.

Aha ... I didn't want to go poking around on your site ... never know what sort of pics one might find there and whether it would be safe for work or not

    Impressions Of The Day

It's pretty good. It just takes large pics and spits out HTML galleries with properly sized pics for the web ... where you can also put comments on each pic. Best of all it's free.

    armenian foods

I suspect just searching the tons of pages in this forum will reveal a wealth of hidden food info. That's if you are under time constraints.

  20. A billion is also how many calculations your typical cheapy computer will do these days in ONE second. A billion is also the number of bits you can transmit over a typical DSL connection in about 5 minutes. So it's really not that much
  21. (13) Ok, I guess we can go to the buffet again if that's what you really want. Translation: If you want to live, you will take me somewhere fancy now and NEVER think about buffet again.
  22. Somehow I was thinking "water" might make it on to top 10. Guess I was wrong
